Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator Review
Continuing the season of magic wand vibrator reviews, I’m pleased to share my thoughts on the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator. It looks like a Lovehoney branded version of the famously powerful Vibratex Hitachi Magic Wand; have I found the UK-safe* equivalent?

Packaging
First up, the box. The Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe arrives in a glossy card box which is clearly from Lovehoney – it’s similar in design to the other Lovehoney wand vibrators I own. Inside the main box, which shows an image of the product and some extra details the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Wand Vibrator is held safely in some moulded plastic.
As well as the vibrator, you get a little leaflet giving you more in-depth product and safety info.
First Impressions
As I have quite a few of these full-size wand vibrators now (they’re all of a similar length), I was expecting it to perform either spectacularly, or woefully dismally. That’s been my experience: full-size wands, I love ’em or hate ’em. Ironically, no shades of grey here -so far.
I’ve heard good things about the Lovehoney wand vibrators. Being suitably impressed by the smaller size Lovehoney wands myself, albeit not absolutely blown away, I was hoping this full sized, mains-powered one would live up to the company’s claims.
The Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe seemed well made, with the familiar shaped silicone head, a plastic handle with silicone buttons and the cord attached to the base with a UK mains plug attached (US plug versions also available, either on Lovehoney UK or direct from Lovehoney.com).
Size/Measurements
This Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator measures 13 inches in overall length, the handle measuring 9.5 inches of that length.
These measurements are the same as the Tokidoki x Unicorn Magic Wand Vibrator and the Lovehoney Desire Wand (review coming soon).
The maximum circumference of the head is 7.9 inches, which is also the same as the head of the Lovehoney Desire Wand.
The cable measures 2.4 metres, so plenty of room to play. I took all the above measurements myself.
Powering Up
It’s a mains-powered vibrator, so to play with the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Wand Vibrator all you need to do is plug it in.
Operation
There are three buttons centred on the front of the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe handle, below the red Lovehoney heart logo.
+ …is to turn the wand vibrator on, and from there increase the vibration intensity (there are 10 levels)
〰 …is to change the vibrating pattern/pulse setting (there are a mind/body boggling 20 patterns)
– …is to decrease the intensity, all the way to ‘off’ if/when desired.
I’ve said it before but I guess I’ll say it again; I’m not one for patterns and pulses on my vibrators. I like constant vibration, then determining where and when I feel it by the movement of the toy in my hand & against my body. The fact that this vibrator offers not only 20 patterns & pulses but also 10 increments of vibration intensity was a good sign.
In recent times I’ve found I don’t always automatically skip to the highest intensity vibration with more modern vibrators, so I was looking forward to finding out how my body responded to the vibes from the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator.
During Use
Switching the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator on, I lay back for a self-pleasure session I felt curious anticipation about. Would it be the alt-Doxy? Or a naff chuckaway like so many other pretenders to the throne?
First impressions of the vibrations were good, although it took me a while to figure out that you don’t have to keep on pressing the + button repeatedly to scroll up the intensity, and you don’t have to keep on pressing the – button repeatedly to lower it, or turn off. You can do it that way, but (happily) you can also just keep your finger on the button and the vibration speed will raise or lower accordingly.
With 10 speed increments, this was a revelation.
I checked out the patterns and pulses option for a while, but it was as I thought; I’m still not a fan of them. Shame, as there’s a whopping 20 to explore. Back to constant vibration mode.
This thing has definitely got orgasmic power behind it. Well, it is mains-powered, although that’s not necessarily been the saviour of previous incarnations. Vibrations aren’t the most rumbly I’ve ever felt, but they’re certainly not what I’d describe as high-frequency/tinny/angry wasp, either. They’re almost-rumbly. And powerful enough to get me off, judging by my incredibly quickly-finished first session with the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe.
I’ve been spoilt by other vibrators in the past (lookin’ at you, Doxy Number 3), meaning that if I don’t orgasm in 30 seconds of pushing the ‘on’ button I risk thinking a toy is taking a long time to get me there. The Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe brings me to orgasm in about a minute, which is very quick, I’m sure you’ll agree!
On the lower speed settings (1-4) it’s more of a warm up to my veteran vibed clit; from speed 5 I start getting squirmy and vocal. 6 & 7 have me writhing and within a whisper of that orgasm, and 8-10 push me over that glorious edge. At times (it’s mood-dependent) the highest level of constant vibration can feel a little too much if anything – not something I say often, believe me!

Clean-Up
As a mains-operated sex toy (ie. connected cable) the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe isn’t waterproof. This is to be expected and I can’t deduct any marks for that; after all, my long-time wand fave the Doxy Wand isn’t waterproof either (yet, at least).
The head of the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator is made with silicone, which is a non-porous material safe to use against your intimate regions. This isn’t intended to be used as an internal toy, it’s made for external stimulation only. So after use I can simply wipe the head of the wand carefully with sex toy cleaner wipes or sex toy cleaner spray and a cloth.
Conclusion
I believe the Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful wand vibe would make a great purchase for someone looking for a traditional full-size, mains-powered wand vibrator, similar to the Vibratex Hitachi Wand but with the reassurance of complete UK-based safety during use, a silicone covered head and Lovehoney’s Sex Toy Happiness Guarantee.
If you’re looking for ultra-rumbly, this one might miss the mark – but as a powerful wand vibrator that you don’t have to recharge, or keep refilling with fresh batteries, it’s a winner in my books. It’s still not a Doxy, but it’s a pretty good alternative.
The Lovehoney Deluxe Extra Powerful Mains Powered Magic Wand Vibrator isn’t too noisy (I can drown out the minimal noise with the radio or TV) and it can get me (should-be-certified Power Queen) to orgasm in one minute or less on constant vibration intensity 5+… and this thing dials all the way up to 11!**
**…that’s a lie, the intensities stop at 10. Sorry. I find 10 is plenty enough power, though
