Sex toy shopping can be exciting, exhilarating, fantasy-inducing… and confusing. There are just so many sex toys available these days, with improvements added and different styles being created all the time. That’s why I’ve written these sex toy advice articles here at the Cara Sutra sex blog.
First of all, do you really need sex toys? Adult products are more of a desirable accessory than a need, and they’re most definitely not a replacement for sex. Nobody should feel ashamed about their sex toy use, or threatened because their partner enjoys using them. Hell, there are even plenty of couples sex toys available which heighten the pleasure levels for both partners during intimacy. So even though toys might not be a need or pre-requisite for having sexy fun, they’re an incredibly enjoyable bonus feature. Think of them like ticking the ‘added fun’ box on your sexual take-out order.
Next, consider what type of sex toy would be best for you. There are many different types: vibrating, static, large, small, flexible, rigid, for vaginal, clitoral, anal and erogenous zone stimulation. Then there is the material it’s made of to consider. Some materials are full body-safe for internal and external use, others are toxic and could cause allergic reactions, irritation or worse. What does porous and non-porous mean? What are phthalates? Does any of this really matter when considering which sex toy to buy and try?
