These, after all, are what We-Vibe is best known for, shared pleasure with the use of a single toy within and against both partners’ bodies at once. Cut to the present; I am now the proud owner of an all singing, all dancing, We-Vibe 3 Rechargeable Couple’s Vibrator.

We-Vibe are manufacturers of incredibly high quality sex toys for couples. Or at least, their range was aimed at couples until the recent addition of the Thrill, which is purely for women’s solo pleasure. You can find and read my recent review here.

As I mainly use and review sex toys for use on myself, it has been refreshing to be able to include my partner in the ‘testing’ process (such a chore, as you can imagine!) and add his feedback to the overall opinion.

What is the We-Vibe 3 Rechargeable Couple’s Vibrator?

The We-Vibe 3 is a waterproof, multi function, rechargeable vibrating sex toy, which has been designed to be worn half inside the woman (vaginally) and the other half outside, cradled over the clitoral area.

It is made from medical grade silicone, so it is soft enough to be comfortable whilst being firm enough to give friction and sexy stimulation. You can use water based lubricants with it (silicone lubricants will disintegrate the material of the toy). It is of course, free from phthalates.

There are 6 vibration modes: low, high (my favourite!), wave, pulse, tease, and cha cha.

During penetrative vaginal sex, the We-Vibe Three vibrates on the function you select with the remote control, giving stimulation to the woman’s g-spot, clitoris and also to the man as he rubs against it during the intimate session.

Basically, the We-Vibe Three is the vibrator you can wear and both enjoy during sex.

Just like the Thrill Vibrator, the We-Vibe 3 is extremely flexible and can easily be opened to a right angle. It has been specially designed to adapt to most everyone’s body, to give sheer pleasure in comfort. There are no sharp or hard areas to cause pain.

My We-Vibe 3 Rechargeable Couple’s Vibrator is presented in a dark purple colour, the ‘traditional’ shade of choice for We-Vibe, one might say. I don’t mind purple toys. Better than bright pink!

The travel case, the housing of which incorporates the wireless charging dock, is clean and bright in white.

The We-Vibe 3 toy fits into recesses within this dock/travel case. The remote control neatly slots in the space in the middle, allowing you to put the cap on and have a neatly portable We-Vibe 3 unit to take with you on a weekend away or elsewhere.

If you don’t want to run the risk of using up your battery life, take the wall charger with you, which connects through the hole on back of the charging dock.

You need to charge up the We-Vibe 3 for 24 hours before first use, then after that once the toy needs recharging, it just takes a couple of hours so I have found. The yellow light on the front of the charging dock shows you that it’s charging up. Once charged you get 2 hours non-stop vibration – so plenty of rampant We-Vibe loving over quite a few sexual liaisons!

The We-Vibe 3 is markedly smaller than the Thrill Vibrator. This is because you wear the We-Vibe 3 during intercourse with your partner, whereas the Thrill is designed for women’s solo use and is therefore bigger to ensure full satisfaction from the toy alone.

I planned to compare the We-Vibe 3 to the Thrill vibrator but to be honest, although they are both made by We-Vibe and have a similar shape, they are such different toys that a comparison would be futile. The Thrill is brilliant for a woman alone. The We-Vibe 3 is brilliant for couples during sex. It really is that simple.

The We-Vibe 3 Rechargeable Couple’s Vibrator has a narrower tapered end that you place inside your vagina with the outer ‘arm’ then coming up to rest against your clitoral area. On the top area of this outer ‘arm’ there is a raised ‘nub’, which is the power on/off button and you also can click it during use to cycle through the vibration modes.

Unlike the other We-Vibe toys however, the We-Vibe 3 has the added benefit of a remote control. I have long been wary of remotely controlled toys, from back in the day when ‘remote control’ meant some god-awful plastic toy with a too short and easily broken wire leading to a handheld controller that the batteries fell out of the back of every two seconds.

Haven’t sex toys come a long way!

This remote control is rounded, sleek, superbly ergonomic and easy to use. All you need to do is switch on the We-Vibe 3 with the button on the toy (this activates the controller) then you can use the remote to cycle through the modes. You can also switch off the toy by holding down the remote control button for a couple of seconds.

The remote control works up to 10 feet (3 metres) away.

Finally, a sex toy for couples that doesn’t require someone’s hands getting trapped between your hot bodies at the weirdest angles! Sex toys should be an accompaniment, a compliment to your lovemaking, not a rude interruption. We-Vibe achieve as near perfection as possible with the We-Vibe 3 in this respect; you or your partner can control and even switch off the vibrator with a click of the button on the remote, which can be put down and picked up as you wish during the sex session.

The We-Vibe 3 has been so thoughtfully designed I am truly amazed. This is the first We-Vibe sex toy for couples use that I have tried and I am a complete convert. The vibrations are extremely powerful, even for a power queen like me – and because your partner is inside you at the same time, his body keeps the outer arm against your clit – as well as the integral curve of the device itself.

From the man’s point of view, my partner’s feedback was that the We-Vibe is very comfortable and although he could feel it was inside me and against him, the material (along with the application of water based lube) meant there was no pain or unpleasant sensations. He could also feel the vibrations both inside, on his penis as he thrusted – as well as the echoes from the vibrations on the outer arm – meaning an intense climax for both of us.

The We-Vibe 3 Rechargeable Couple’s Vibrator is going to be reached for during sex very regularly, I can tell!

As a sneaky side note, the We-Vibe 3 can be used by vulva-owners on their own – yes, it is a little too slim for this to be 100% perfect as a solo toy (that’s what the Thrill is for, after all) but if you want a real party in your pants the We-Vibe 3 more than makes your knickers twitch as a saucy accompaniment to doing the housework of a morning or afternoon. You don’t even have to rummage in your pants to change mode or guiltily switch off suddenly – you can keep the remote control handy and no-one will be any the wiser to the real reason behind your wide smile and flushed cheeks.

I love the fact there are two motors, one which gives such strong vibrations to your G-Spot it brings you close to the edge in seconds, and the other in the area against your clit for a perfect stimulation duet.

On top of all this (yes, there’s more!) the We-Vibe 3 is completely waterproof. Now take everything I’ve just said and add a relaxing bubbly bath or revitalising shower with a twist into the equation. Alluring, to say the least.

I am sure you will agree, for a sex toy that has all this to offer (and whatever else your imagination can craft), £100 is a great investment of your funds.

Don’t be tempted to waste £20 here and there on crappy plastic or jelly vibrators that require new batteries regularly – or at least until they fall apart or are discovered as a melted mess in your bedside drawer.
