I was very pleased to find out that I had been lucky enough to be chosen by the lovely Cara Sutra and her wonderful Pleasure Panel to review another toy. Not only that but I had secured my first choice – the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug. Yay!

So, for the very generous Cara Sutra, who sent me the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug free of charge in exchange for a full and frank review, and for you, dear reader, who are anxious to know if you should also give it a whirl, here we go!
Firstly, a quick testament to Cara’s dedication and efficiency. I was working away the week after the Pleasure Panel and had given Cara a different address to the usual one so that I could get on with the fun stuff ASAP and not have to wait to get the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug in my eager sweaty hands. It beat me there! The parcel was waiting for me when I arrived, but having received things from Cara before, I had no qualms about retrieving it as her packaging is always very discreet. This time was no exception. (I have heard some horror stories of product descriptions and logos on boxes etc. Not really what you want in vanilla suburbia.)
Once on my own I was like a child at Christmas and tore away the plain outer packaging to reveal a fairly standard, if beautifully printed cardboard box with a picture of the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug on the front and a description of the pleasure I was going to receive, plus a one line set of cleaning instructions on the back. On opening the box, I found a (hopefully) hermetically sealed foil bag containing the toy itself. I have to admit to having just a little twinge of disappointment when I could feel the toy through the bag. It seems awfully small!!!
The foil gave way easily and the plug fell out into my eager hands. I was right! It did look very small nestled in my not very delicate palm. It is about the length of my middle finger and the thickness of my thumb at the widest point. The T-bar at the base is almost the same size as the toy!
OK. Enough with the negativity! This 50 Shades butt plug is well made out of seamless, silky smooth silicone (no mention of what kind) and seems to live up to the ‘premium brand’ level I was expecting from such a prominent name. With that in mind, I had been quite surprised by the very reasonable cost of this toy from a group that is usually found at the expensive end of the market, however the size does explain some of that. On the other hand, the size did mean that taking it with me in my luggage was no problem at all and even my trouser pocket was accommodating enough to hide it away – although fluff from my handkerchief did seem to be amazingly attractive to it, just like most decent silicone toys. (Any advice on cleaning toys for photographs would be gratefully received lol.)
The shape is of the “phallus” variety and fairly standard for this sort of toy. Skinny at the base and gently widening (just) up the shaft until a smooth, approximately, 70’ bend at the glans. The overall insertable length is only 3.25in but the circumference is difficult to measure due to the lack of it at the base and the shape at the top, but I am confident that it is slim enough not to trouble or worry even a first timer.
On to the fun bit then! A quick coating of my usual water based lube and I gently inserted the toy. Gently and slowly. Not because I was being careful but because I wanted to see if I could actually feel the contours of the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug at all with it being so wee. I was prepared to underwhelmed but wanted to give it every chance. Surprisingly, I could feel it! What’s more, I could feel the little bugger pushing directly on to my prostate! Something I wasn’t expecting.
I have several toys of similar length but they are of the “butt plug” variety and bulbous in shape. They give a “full” feeling but don’t go anywhere near my prostate. This is what I was expecting from the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug, but without the full feeling due to its diminutive size. Well all I can say is that “size isn’t everything” and from me that is high praise indeed.
Now, as a plug type toy the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug cannot be manipulated once it has been inserted, at least not in any meaningful way, but I found that by clenching my buttocks and moving my thighs I could induce small movements that just lightly tickled my prostate. Not constantly, but just enough to send the odd frisson of pleasure through me. Result!
So, for a little more adventurous session I decided to use the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug for a slightly longer than normal session and wore it to work ;0)
I have a very physical job and I found that the walking, bending and flexing were quite enough to keep the little taps and rubs on my prostate up for the 2 hours that it was possible for me to wear it. I was slightly worried that, due to its slim profile, it may begin to slip out during this time but yet again, I was surprised and I had no such problem.
I realise that toys like this are very individual as everyone is built differently and it may not be the right size and shape for everyone, but for me the Fifty Shades of Grey Driven By Desire Silicone Butt Plug was in the Goldilocks band and consequently “just right”. I was pleasantly surprised by this toy and I am very pleased that I decided to give it a fair crack of the whip.
I would recommend this toy to beginners and also to the more advanced practitioners who are lucky enough to have the correct anatomy.
All in all, I will give this 50 Shades butt plug a 9/10 for being both cute and effective.
