The Fleshy Thrust Sync is a smart, automated masturbator that offers heating, vibration, and grip-like thrusting. The sync part of the name comes from its Bluetooth connectivity to browsers and apps, allowing it to seamlessly replicate the on-screen action. But is it worth the nearly $200 asking price?

What’s in the Fleshy Thrust Sync Box? (Not Much!)

Fleshy Thrust Sync packaging

Arriving in a plain brown box with no indication of the contents, the packaging inside was equally bland. Which is great, because I’m not a fan of putting boxes saying “automatic wank machine” into the recycling.

Inside the main box is the Fleshy Sync, a very brief user manual (with a QR code to watch a video for usage instructions instead), and a short USB-C charging cable. The other box contained an additional sleeve for testing.

Thrusting, Heating, Vibration

Inside the Fleshy Thrust Sync is a luxurious semi-translucent TPR sleeve. Thrusting on the Fleshy doesn’t come by physically moving the sleeve, but instead by moving a series of concentric rings with knobbly bits that envelop the sleeve. I suppose, in theory, this should feel like the grip of your hand, but in practice, it feels exactly like a couple of knobbly rings loosely grabbing the sleeve and moving up and down. The rings can’t be tightened, so there’s a Goldilocks size of penis this will ideally work for—and apparently, I’m not it. The rings have a total stroke length of around one inch, but there are three rings to cover most of your shaft.

Inside, you’ll also find a small heating pad, and I assume the vibrations originate from here, too. With my cock inserted and the control buttons facing towards me, the vibrations were focused pleasantly on my frenulum. It could be they originated elsewhere in the Fleshy, but this was where I felt them the most.

The heating feature is subtle—obviously, you don’t want your dick burning—but turn it on for ten minutes before use, and you should avoid the shock of cold lube.

Three buttons on the front of the device control all the functions. Hold down the power button for on and off; press it to change the thrusting pattern. Hold down the wavy lines to turn on or off vibrations, and press once to change the pattern. There are nine patterns for each main function, and a small segmented display above the buttons shows which pattern you’re on for each. The button in the middle that looks like the sun activates the warming, and another LED indicator in the top left lights up to show it’s on. In the top right is a battery display.

Charging is simple from the exposed USB-C port on the back. No part of the Fleshy Thrust Sync main body is waterproof, though the sleeve can be easily removed for cleaning.

The device has Bluetooth connectivity, but there’s no pairing button; it just works, and always advertises itself for connection as BT05.

The Sleeves Are Divine

The most important part of any automated masturbator is the interface between your cock and the rest of the toy: the sleeve. The Fleshy Sync uses soft, semi transparent TPR, which they call “Real Skin”. That’s because TPR is the closest you can get to an actual skin feeling, as well as allowing for plenty of stretch.

Fleshy Thrust Sync Review: The Smart Wank Simulator

I appreciate that the Fleshy crew actually label their product for what it is, and don’t try to use marketing terms like “Skin-like Soft Silicone”. TPR is not silicone; it’s a generic term for Thermoplastic Elastomer (or “squishy plastic”). Most people prefer TPR for masturbators, but it’s worth noting that TPR lacks the durability of actual silicone, and contains micropores that mean it can never truly be cleaned. For toys designed to be inserted into your body, that’s an absolute no-no; bacteria will build up, and cause infections or worse. But for a toy you’re sticking your cock into, it’s not such a big worry. More concerning to me is the durability issue; silicone will last a lifetime when cared for correctly, TPR will not.

You can however mitigate the problem by keeping the sleeve clean and dry. Wash with soap and water immediately after use, then use a drying stick and renewal powder (corn starch) when storing it. This should ensure you get the maximum enjoyment from the sleeve for a few years.

When I tested the Kiiroo Onyx, which featured a similar stroking mechanism using rings of beads, I found the experience was utterly disappointing. That was in part because the sleeve itself was plainly textured and frankly boring.

The sleeve on the Fleshy Sync is removable for easy cleaning, and there’s a few designs available to find one that suits you better. The sleeve that ships with the Fleshy Thrust Sync is a lot tighter than the Kiiroo Onyx was, with a lovely knobbly texture throughout. It’s also a lot smaller than your average Fleshlight, too.

I requested a different sleeve be sent for testing, as I usually find the default is too large, and I love intense sensations. The Minx sleeve is even tighter and features a greater variety of textures, though now that it’s arrived, the included sleeve isn’t bad either.

While both the standard sleeve and the Minx feel brilliant to me, I’m definitely on the smaller end of the spectrum. If you’re average, I suspect they’ll be quite tight, but also feel incredible if you like that. If you’re larger than average, look elsewhere, because there’s no way you’ll even fit into these.

So How Does It Feel?

Even with the tighter Minx sleeve, the sensations of those rings rubbing up and down just weren’t enough to get me off. I don’t know if that’s because I’m too small to butt up closer against them, or because of a more fundamental flaw in the experience in that the sleeve never actually moves. I need something more intense (or dare I say, realistic?)

In truth, it wasn’t until I disabled the automatic “thrusting” and just used it like a Fleshlight that I was able to cum at all. The vibrations are nicely positioned though, and the warming is a subtle treat; I left both of those features on.

I wouldn’t describe the automated stroking as unpleasant or painful. There are enough patterns to keep the variety up, and it feels nice. It’s just not enough to take me all the way, so it’s a nice tease at best.

Syncing to Videos via FapTap

Now we get to the best feature of the Fleshy Thrust Sync: the syncing over Bluetooth bit. What began a few years ago as a niche feature available on a select few devices for a handful of compatible videos and was a bit of an arse to set up, has now expanded to thousands of free videos with curated action scripts and hundreds of compatible devices that can play them back with little more than the click of a button.

Though it’s not the only method, FapTap.net is a free tube site that works with all the major synced masturbators, including the Fleshy Thrust Sync—and it’s the easiest to get started with.

Simply press Connect in the top right to open up a browser list of Bluetooth devices; you’ll need to use a compatible browser, like Google Chrome on  desktop. iPhone users can’t use Safari or Chrome, they will need to install and use Bluefy browser to connect.

Annoyingly, you’ll need to locate “BT05” from the list of devices, as the Fleshy Thrust Sync doesn’t identify with a proper name. Although on reflection, since the Bluetooth connection is automatically broadcast when it’s on, perhaps that’s a good thing—wouldn’t want something like “automatic wank machine 01” being broadcast to the neighbours whenever they wanted to play music wirelessly.  Still, it connected quickly once I’d found it.

I found zero offset with full power and “safe mode” disabled delivered the most intense and satisfying results. The addition of some visual stimuli improved the experienced immensely. Still not enough to make me cum, but a lot closer. While the syncing takes care of the ring movements, you can add or remove the heating and vibration separately.

I can’t overestimate how cool this is; but also that Fleshy Thrust Sync isn’t the only toy to support this feature. It does, however, elevate the Fleshy Thrust Sync from a weak automated wank to something altogether more satisfying.

There’s an “Optional” Subscription

When you purchase the Fleshy Sync, you’ll be provided with a login to FapTap Premium, which isn’t yet available to the public (and when it is, will apparently be more expensive than offered here).

What’s not so obvious is that by purchasing the Fleshy Thrust Sync, you must also commit to a subscription with a one-month trial, which auto-renews at $19 per month. You can’t deselect this at checkout, even though it’s supposedly easy to cancel once you are signed up. I can’t attest to how easy it is to cancel since my subscription was provided for review, but I suspect only the most prolific masturbators will need the premium subscription. I also can’t condone that you’re automatically signed up to this and then made to cancel, on top of what is an already expensive toy. Simply making it optional during checkout would be a massive improvement.

FapTap doesn’t currently advertise a Premium account, and there are no UI differences once you ‘ve logged in, so I had to ask what the benefits actually were. All users can create a free account, which allows you to use the FapTap AI to analyze three Pornhub videos a day and create Funscripts. The Faptap Premium account allows unlimited generations. That’s the only benefit at the moment

The Funscript action produced by the AI analysis was about what I’d expected. Big, obvious movements like close-ups of oral sex or vaginal penetration synced up well. Fast-paced PMV-style videos also produced consistent action. But anything niche produced less satisfying results, with a mostly blank movement track. There are improvements to be made for sure, but for most people’s tastes, I think it largely fulfills the promise. My only concern is that you probably don’t need to generate more than three new Funscripts a day–you can always revisit favourites from your library that you’ve previously generated. So unless other new features are introduced to Faptap Premium like the ability to work with sites other than Pornhub, I can’t see the value added.

Note from the Fleshy team: Our own subscription is called Fleshy+ and includes not only Faptap Premium, but also an extended warranty, and exclusive discounts. You can read more about it here: https://getfleshy.com/pages/plus

Is the Fleshy Sync The Ultimate Masturbator?

Fleshy Thrust Sync Review: The Smart Wank Simulator

For me, it isn’t. But if you fall within the Goldilocks zone, it might work for you, and the video sync feature is superb.

The Fleshy Thrust Sync is a generic design you might recognize if you’ve spent time browsing Amazon or AliExpress. Whether the devices available there are clones, or the same product, or just a very uncanny likeness to this one, I couldn’t say. They don’t have Bluetooth syncing though, and that’s the real star feature worth shouting about here.

Ultimately, better toys are available that don’t use the knobbly rings loosely wrapped around a sleeve method. Both The Handy and Kiiroo Keon physically move a sleeve up and down. They’re better described as thrusting simulators rather than a wank simulator.

The Kiiroo Keon uses actual Fleshlight-style sleeves, while the Handy uses a variety of custom sleeves (and can work with nearly any stroker except full-size Fleshlights). The Handy secures the sleeve to the main body of the unit with a velcro strap, so it’s easy to tighten, or loosen, to suit your size, while you can usually find a Fleshlight in your preferred size for the Keon. Both offer syncing features to FapTap and other experiences, though neither the Handy nor the Kiiroo Keon offer warming or vibrations. However, the Kiiroo Keon doesn’t have an optional suction upgrade. More importantly, the alternatives are all in a similar price bracket of $200-$250.

Does that make the Fleshy Thrust Sync a bad toy? Absolutely not. It’ll be a winner for you if you know you enjoy this style of mechanism and just want the video syncing upgrade, or love the addition of vibrations.

7/10: Didn’t work for me, but might work for you.
