I reviewed the original We-Vibe Wand back in 2020 and loved it. Powerful, luxurious, offered a wealth of features including app connectivity and I even had a bunch of attachments for it, for switching up usage and sensations. How the Wand 2 Felt for Me
I’m heading straight into the juicy part. I doubt you’re as curious about what the packaging looks like, although if you really want to know you can find a photo gallery at the end of this review with all the box and unboxing pics. To be honest, I don’t care what the box looks like when I’ve got this toy against my clit. It could have arrived in a brown paper bag and I wouldn’t have cared (I might’ve been a bit confused, granted).
Holding the We-Vibe Wand 2 in my hands, I hoped with everything I had that this gorgeous looking wand vibrator would be powerful enough to deliver the intense orgasms I craved. Please, please don’t be weak, I silently prayed to this luxurious looking toy. A sex toy can look like a work of art, be crafted by a reputable and well-known brand, but it’s only when you lube up, switch it on and get started that your unique anatomy decides whether it’s a keeper.
The We-Vibe Wand 2 is undoubtedly a keeper. What a fucking relief. What a fucking orgasm. What an addictive stream of body-shuddering, bone-deep orgasms I’ve enjoyed over the last four weeks. It’s been all I can do to tear myself away from the thing to actually write about it. I’m missing having it against my demanding clitoris and spoiled brat of a vulva right now.

It seems strange to me, now, that I ever worried Wand 2 wouldn’t be powerful enough for this veteran toy tester. As well as that groundless worry, I was intrigued by the wand’s unusual head shape. It reminds me of a petite horse’s hoof, and the curve of the handle lends something of a “pony ballet dancing en pointe” air to the vibe. An observation, not a criticism. I love anything quirky and unusual, and I love that We-Vibe has strayed from the norm. It’s only through breaking away from the usual pathways that we can discover new, better ways of doing things. Someone’s gotta be bold.
It is bold, and it does work.
Reel: Wand 2 Operation
We-Vibe Wand 2 is so much more than a basic but orgasmically effective, ingeniously shaped, external stimulation vibrator. There are all the other features to explore: the various patterns, the choice of vibration intensity, the Smart Silence feature, the convenient travel lock, the rechargeable and cordless operation, the IPX7 waterproofness, the We-Vibe App connectivity and all the thrilling potential that offers.
Let me confirm what you really want to know. Is it any good? Can it stimulate me to orgasm, easily, effectively? Does it feel fucking amazing? Your mileage may vary, of course, but for me the answer to all the above is a resounding and breathless yes.
How the Wand 2 works
I was worried that due to the various control options on the We-Vibe Wand 2 I’d get confused about what to press whilst the wand head was against my clit and vulva. It’s so annoying when you catch the pattern change button but what you actually wanted to do is increase the intensity.
The buttons are all quite close together, but when I’m holding the wand with the head against my vulva, and the buttons are therefore on the outside of the handle at the top, the arrangement feels intuitive. The button at the top ups the intensity, the one below lowers it. The side arrows change the pattern. Below the sticky-out buttons of increase or decrease intensity, is a different style; a concave button area. That’s the Smart Silence button. I’ll talk more about that in a while, it’s very useful.
In a nutshell: any small concerns I had about needing to remember button placement or struggling to locate the right one during use dissipated when it became clear how effortless it all felt during playtime.
The Smart Silence feature isn’t new to me. It became clear what a great feature this was when I checked it out as you can read in my We-Vibe Melt 2 review. I switch on this feature most times I use my We-Vibe Wand 2, especially if I want a longer, teasing play session. For a quickie orgasm, I am not using it long enough to make it worthwhile switching it on…
As I haven’t travelled with the Wand 2, and I’m not concerned about it being switched on accidentally in storage (it doesn’t get left in storage that long before I’m using it again right now), I haven’t enabled the travel lock function. However, this is a brilliant feature for those who want to take the wand with them to different settings or store it in a busy drawer or cupboard without the worry it’ll turn itself on accidentally.
Controlling the Wand 2 via the We-Vibe App
I must admit that the We-Vibe App connectivity to the We-Vibe Wand 2 is a nice additional play option, but one I rarely used beyond trying it out for the purpose of this review. I’m not someone who relishes keeping hold of my phone in an erotic bedroom setting; when it comes to masturbation or sexy playtime with my husband I’d rather our phones were on the other side of the room, on silent and forgotten about.
I’m aware there’s an element of privilege there; I’m in a long-term relationship and now marriage with my husband, with whom I live, and we work from home together each day. We’re not generally apart long enough to make long distance toy control something we seek out or need. That’s us, though. If you are separated in distance from your partner, the We-Vibe App is a great and reliable way to add hot partner control of your toy to the situation. It allows the partner using the toy to feel like it’s being directly controlled by their partner, even though they’re not in the same room.

As well as long-distance play options, you can use the app to control the toy yourself, of course. Having a partner isn’t a must in order to enjoy the app functionality. If you prefer to control your sex toy via a smartphone app rather than using the on board buttons, the We-Vibe App is well-designed, offering reliable and fast toy connectivity as well as stimulation versatility once your Wand 2 is hooked up.

Smart Silence: gimmick or genuinely useful?
I first became enamoured with We-Vibe’s Smart Silence feature when I used the We-Vibe Melt 2. When a sex toy has a feature I haven’t heard much about, it’s easy to prejudge it as a gimmick, rather than something genuinely useful. Smart Silence is genuinely useful. And I’ll tell you why.
Enabling the Smart Silence feature during use, and disabling it whenever you like, is quick and easy. There’s no great mystery to it; press and hold the concave button with the tilde (~) to enable; do the same to turn it off again. When enabled, the We-Vibe Wand 2 vibrations only activate when in contact with your body.
This has some fantastic benefits.
The Wand 2 only vibrating when I have it against my body means I can instantly stop the noise from the toy, as well as the vibrating stimulation of course, by lifting it away from me. I have full control over when it emits vibrations and the sound from them. No scrambling for the lower intensity button to press and hold to switch the toy off if I’m worried someone in another room or outside may hear what’s going on. Simply lift it away from me, and the vibrations stop immediately. Smart Silence is like a safeword, but for vibrators.
As well as the instant full discretion benefit, being able to cut the vibrations immediately by simply lifting the Wand 2 away from me means the rechargeable power is only used when in direct contact with my body. There’s no power wastage, and it conserves the battery power for when it’s actually needed. We-Vibe Wand 2 doesn’t run out quickly in any case, so don’t worry about that. A full charge from zero takes two hours, which provides up to two hours playtime. I haven’t even lasted ten minutes in one playtime with it yet. And because I love it so much, I’m very aware of keeping it charged up ready for the next time.
There’s something you should be aware of when using the Smart Silence feature with We-Vibe Wand 2. Being in this mode can lead you to think the Wand 2 is switched off if you put it down once you’re done, when it’s just not vibrating because it isn’t against your body anymore. Smart Silence vibration activation requires the handle to be held and the wand head to be against a body to activate, so the vibrations don’t activate when the Wand 2 is simply put down on a surface, whether it’s a shelf, on the bed, or anywhere else.
I can’t find any evidence to suggest that there’s an automatic power off after a short period of inactivity either, meaning that if you leave the Wand 2 in Smart Silence mode and set it aside, the battery power will continue to drain – and you may return to a Wand 2 which needs charging up in order to deliver the orgasm you thought you were just about to enjoy. It’s difficult to think clearly right after an orgasm, I know; but try to remember to switch Wand 2 off fully after use to retain the battery life. This reminder is for myself as much as for any of my readers!
Having the Smart Silence function doesn’t mean the Wand 2 is a loud vibrator. The higher the intensity, the more sound the toy emits, somewhat obviously. It’s best you hear for yourself rather than take my word for it, especially as I’m deaf without my hearing aids and I don’t often have them in when I’m wanking or having sex. 🤷♀️

Cleaning Wand 2 after use
Thanks to its IPX7 waterproof rating, Wand 2 is sublimely easy to clean after use. I don’t have to be overly careful not to get water into any button or seam areas, as I do with merely ‘splashproof’ sex toys; I can fill the sink, get it soapy, and properly clean it. A rinse under running water, then it dries off easily with a clean towel before its (undoubtedly brief) storage in the bedside drawer ready for next time.
