Bullet Vibes Guide: Comparisons, Measurements & Reviews

I’ve written previously about why I love bullet vibrators so much. They regularly appear in my top 3 favourite sex toys, which constantly evolves due to ongoing advances in pleasure tech. There are so many bullet vibes to choose from – how can you be sure the one you’re buying from an online sex shop is going to be orgasmically effective? Welcome to my bullet vibrators guide! What Is A Bullet Vibe?

Bullet vibrators are so-called because they’re bullet shaped and small besides. Sometimes these toys are also described as mini vibes, pocket vibrators or have other, similar labels.

As well as the shape of the sex toy making its name appropriate, a “bullet” vibrator is a small but powerful object which can vibrate at high speed, used to precisely target erogenous zones and help tip you over into ‘la petite mort’. They’re usually used to provide powerful clitoral stimulation, but of course you can use them wherever and however you choose. Just not anally, as they don’t have a flared base. But everywhere else is fine!

Why Are Bullet Vibes Popular?

Bullet vibrators are popular because their small size makes them easy to use, lightweight to hold and versatile. They’re discreet for solo masturbation but also small enough to deliver non-threatening additional pleasure during couples’ foreplay and sex. I’ve found effective bullet vibes priced from around £12+ as well, making them perfect for every budget.

These small size vibrators are usually much quieter than large vibrators, making them ideal for situations where discretion is a must –shared houses, the work loo on your lunch break… etc. Plus, the small size combined with low noise output makes bullet vibes perfect for slipping into your handbag or weekend case for naughtiness on the move.

My Top 5 Favourite Bullets

1. Moregasm Plus Bullet Vibrator

My favourite bullet vibrator right now is the Moregasm Plus Bullet Vibrator. It’s been delivering the majority of my orgasms since I received it in August 2018. This vibrator is made with dual density silicone so there’s a lovely squish factor in the tip, while retaining enough rigidity to be grindable…

The Moregasm+ bullet is also rechargeable, waterproof and has various vibrating settings. On the top constant speed, orgasm is an absolute certainty for me –usually in less than 30 seconds if I completely surrender to its power.

2. Loving Joy Power Bullet Vibrator

Narrowly & relatively recently pushed into second place, the Loving Joy Power Bullet Vibrator was my favourite bullet vibrator for almost two years (2016-2018).

Made from a smoothly coated firm plastic, the Loving Joy Power Bullet delivers incredibly strong vibrations which are on the deeper rather than high-frequency, buzzy side of the spectrum. That’s unusual for a bullet vibe, usually the small size combined with small batteries leads to a tinny buzz which doesn’t get me off.

As well as providing vibrations almost deep enough to be described as rumbly, the Loving Joy Power Bullet is rechargeable and waterproof. Sadly, the charging dock lets this otherwise fantastic vibrator down, in my opinion. It’s flimsy, cheap and doesn’t match the main product. I seriously hope future incarnations will include an upgraded dock.

3. We-Vibe Tango Bullet Vibrator

The We-Vibe Tango Bullet Vibrator is a rechargeable, rigid (plastic) bullet vibe which provides a slightly different type of vibrating stimulation than any other bullet vibe I’ve used. Instead of high frequency vibrations, the Tango delivers a deeper, more thuddy vibration which makes for extremely effective clit stim. It’s waterproof, and has the operation push button on the base. While the main body of the We-Vibe Tango Bullet Vibrator is cylindrical, the tip is cleverly angled for intensely precise stimulation.

Available in blue or pink (or cosmic purple, if obtained as part of the We Vibe Anniversary Set), the We-Vibe Tango Bullet Vibrator is often named as ‘favourite bullet vibe’ amongst my girlfriends. You pay a little bit more, as it’s a rechargeable sex toy and therefore represents an investment, but it’s undoubtedly worth the price tag.

4. Tracey Cox Supersex Bullet Vibrator

My Tracey Cox Supersex Bullet Vibrator is a silver-coloured plastic bullet vibe with a push button to operate on one end, and a rounded tip for comfortable yet precise stimulation on the other. It’s also available in black or pink.

Unlike my top two faves, the Tracey Cox Supersex Bullet Vibrator isn’t rechargeable but is instead powered by one AAA battery. It’s fully waterproof thanks to the silicone sealing ring between the twist-off cap and the rest of the bullet.

Despite being battery powered, and the vibrations not being quite as deep and rumbly as the Loving Joy Power Bullet, the Tracey Cox Supersex Bullet Vibrator nevertheless offers surprisingly powerful vibrations for its size. They’re not high frequency ‘tinny buzz’, in my opinion, they’re mid to high and fast enough to bring me to a discreet, satisfying orgasm whenever I choose. This is a great option for the budget-conscious, with a usual retail price of just under £15.

I didn’t find this bullet vibrator as powerful/effective for me as the Tracey Cox, Fifty Shades or similar bullets, making it best for those who prefer medium rather than high-powered vibrations.

Rocks Off Bullet Vibrators

Perlesque Bullet Vibrators

Perlesque sex toys offer an up-market vibe for recognisably effective sex toy styles. Their collection comprises various vibrators in light and dark grey tones, which is desirably en vogue. The prices are a little high, in my opinion, but as an independent adult product manufacturer with no third party, established distributors that I’m aware of, I’m sure they have plenty of overheads to cover.

These seem to be your glamorous ‘handbag vibrators’; sex toys which I wouldn’t be surprised to see mentions of between the pages of leading glossy magazines, following in Jimmyjane Little Chroma’s footsteps.

Durex Bullet Vibrators

Durex are arguably best known for their condoms –they’re the name you can guarantee you’ll spy in the ‘family planning’ areas of supermarkets and high street chemists. Along with their well-known condoms, Durex also produce lubricants and a range of sex toys.

I haven’t had much luck with Durex sex toys personally. I find the vibrations extremely lacking compared to other options on the market. Not just in terms of sheer power –I don’t compare everything to the jackhammer joys of the Doxy- but in terms of the type of vibrating stimulation. The Durex vibrators I’ve tried so far seem to be both high pitched buzzy and frustratingly weak.

I was thrilled to be invited on the board of consultants prior to one of their range launches a few years back; only to be disappointed to discover they’d already manufactured all the units –rendering any expert suggestions, requests or recommendations entirely moot.

Cosmopolitan Sex Toys

Known as one of the leading women’s glossy magazines, Cosmopolitan recently ventured beyond sex tips and printing a few sex toy reviews and launched their own range. The Cosmopolitan sex toy collection has just one bullet vibrator, the Cosmopolitan Enchantment Rechargeable Bullet Vibrator available in pink or purple.

Although neither the Pleasure Panel or I have tried any Cosmopolitan sex toys yet, this is due to change in the near future… so watch this space!
