Packaging

My We-Vibe Ditto+ arrived in Lovehoney’s usual discreet outer packaging for the post, while the toy was packed securely inside the plain brown box. Ditto comes in a sleek, modern-design sex toy box, recognisable as part of the We-Vibe sex toy collection. There’s plenty of information about the toy on the box, and an image of the toy on the front.

The box is sealed for hygiene reassurance, so you need to remove this seal to lift the lid off the box and reveal the contents.

In The Box

Inside the box I found the Ditto+ sat snugly in a moulded shelf, while its accessories were discovered beneath. These include the remote control, the USB charging lead, a couple of instruction/information leaflets and a drawstring storage pouch.

Instructions

There are two folded leaflets which accompany the Ditto+; an instruction leaflet and a leaflet detailing electronic safety/disposal and other information.

How To Charge Up

Charging up the We-Vibe Ditto+ is easy thanks to the included USB charging lead.

The magnetic end connects to the two corresponding metal areas on the base of the toy, while the other end is plugged into your USB port of choice. I like to use the USB port on the side of my laptop in my home office, or the multi-USB to mains plug at the side of my bed. These are extremely useful and I strongly recommend everyone has at least one. You can buy them cheaply from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

While charging, an LED slowly blinks red through the toy’s silicone outer. Once it’s fully charged, this changes to emit a steady glow. It takes about 90 to charge from zero, which provides a maximum of 2 hours’ playtime.

Despite the We-Vibe logo on the lead which could help you identify it, I’d advise additionally labelling the charging lead in some way immediately upon unpackaging the product. This means you can easily identify your We-Vibe Ditto+ lead when it gets tossed into your drawer or box of charging leads.

I use my trusty DYMO labeller which is available from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk for all my sex toy charging leads – and to label plenty of other things around the house, too.

Size

The We-Vibe Ditto+ Vibrating Butt Plug measures 3.5 inches in overall length, with a maximum insertable length of 3 inches. The insertable part has a maximum circumference of 3.75 inches.

Operation / Controls

The included instruction leaflet tells you how to operate the We-Vibe Ditto+, with an easy to understand, labelled diagram. There is one ‘control button’ on the base of the plug, as well as the charging areas, and there are three buttons on the Ditto Plus plug remote control; + button, – button and ~ button.

To switch the We-Vibe Ditto+ on, press the control button on the base briefly. Once it bursts into life, you can use the same button to cycle through the various vibrating settings.

Or, once the plug has come to life, you can use the included remote control. Press the + and – to raise or lower the vibrating intensity, the ~ to change the vibrating setting and the < and > buttons to go back or forward to a certain setting.

Ditto+ has 10 settings available in total, including the 4 constant vibration settings.

To turn the We-Vibe Ditto+ off after use, press and hold the control button on the base, or the – button on the remote control, for 2 seconds until the toy is completely off.

The We-Vibe App

If you have the We-Vibe App, which is available from the Apple or Google Play Store, you can pair Ditto to the phone which is within Bluetooth range. For long distance play, both partners will need to have the We-Vibe App. The included leaflet tells you how to pair the We-Vibe Ditto+ to the app (as well as to the remote control; however, the toy comes already paired to the remote straight out of the box, which is handy).

I found Bluetooth connectivity to the anal toy via the app quite difficult to achieve, and I see from other We-Vibe App reviews on the Play Store that I’m not the only one. Hopefully We-Vibe will improve this with time.

During Use

The We-Vibe Ditto+ Vibrating Butt Plug feels delicious and easy to use. Although it’s quite small in size, it’s perfectly shaped to deliver its vibrating stimulation to exactly the right parts inside your butt. The size also makes this toy ideal for anal beginners, and/or couples who are exploring previously unchartered sexual pleasure waters.

Because this is an anal sex toy, you need to use some lube with it. Use your favourite type of lubricant – water-based, silicone, hybrid. Silicone lubricant is compatible with silicone sex toys, as I have discussed previously on the blog in my big guide to sex lubes and proven in my silicone sex toy left in silicone lube experiment.

To help with inserting the anal toy, especially for those new to anal toys and anal pleasure, I thought I’d share my top tips. First, make lube dispensing easy by getting a pump-dispense style bottle. Rinse the Ditto+ before use to ensure it’s free from dust, fluff and any residual manufacturing chemicals. Get yourself ready by squatting down on a flat surface, making sure your lube, the Ditto+ and the remote control are all within easy reach. Perhaps have some tissues, wipes or a Cumpanion sex towel nearby, too.

Get yourself warmed up prior to insertion by using some lube in and around your anal entrance, while you’re in that squat position. Meanwhile, tease your clitoris/penis (delete as appropriate for you!) with fingers or a vibrating toy – whichever you personally prefer. As the arousal builds, you will naturally feel more anally receptive. Don’t let yourself tip over into orgasm though, this is just a warm-up! When you feel suitably aroused and lubricated, you can insert the tip of the anal toy, then gently guide it inside until it’s fully inserted.

Because of the design of the toy and particularly the style of the base, you can then get yourself comfy doing whatever you like while you enjoy the sensation of the Ditto+ inside you. Enjoy it on the bed alone, or with your partner, or perhaps you want to get extra brave and kinky walking round the house doing chores – or even heading out to the supermarket with it in situ.

This isn’t the biggest anal toy I’ve ever used, but that’s not to say it isn’t satisfying. The cleverly designed shape helps with this, as it’s bulbous in the middle, curved to feel intensely erotic simply in position, even before you switch on the vibrations.

To enjoy the vibrations on offer with the Ditto+, switch the toy on with the control button on its base. I was grateful that a remote control was supplied with the toy, which came handily already paired with the Ditto+. It’s easy to change up the vibrating speed or select one of the vibrating patterns using the remote.

As I’ve mentioned, I didn’t find the vibrations extremely powerful for me but they’re absolutely enough for some intense pleasure sessions. I found this to be especially true when using the Ditto+ along with another sex toy, such as a bullet vibrator for clitoral stimulation or a vibrating cock ring during sex with my husband.

If you’re brave enough to wear the Ditto+ to liven up the housework or even a trip to the shops, you don’t want the vibrations to be as powerful as when you’re enjoying in the privacy of your own bedroom, anyway. Vibrations felt out in public feel far more intense than any enjoyed during private masturbation time!

Summary
