Bondara Joy Extanda 10 Function Remote Thrusting Dildo Review (with comparison to HiSmith Traveller Pro 2.0)

By Tigerlily

The Bondara Joy Extanda 10 Function Remote Thrusting Dildo (presumably, the name Joy Extenda was taken already), is a thrusting vibrator—a hybrid toy that’s somewhere in between a full-on fucking machine and a basic vibrating dildo. Available now for ÂŁ100 from Bondara, will this slick 6” solid silicone extendable cock sow the seeds of delight for you? And how does it compare to its closest competitor: the HiSmith Traveller Pro?

What’s in the Box?

The contents of the Bondara Joy Extanda box are sparse, consisting of:

– The Bondara Joy Extanda thrusting vibrator
– USB charging cable (small DC barrel jack style)
– Suction cup mount
– Remote control

Both the thrusting vibrator and the remote control are charged from the same USB cable, and no wall plug is provided.

The Joy Extanda is splash-proof, but not waterproof. You should be able to take it in the shower, but not the bath, and needn’t worry if you’re a prolific squirter, either.

Design and Materials

The entire body of the Bondara Joy Extanda is made of smooth, body-safe silicone. This is easy to clean under a running tap with a little soap, and is compatible with any lube you prefer. Be careful not to submerge the toy when washing it though, as the physical charging port can let water into the delicate electronics.

The dildo portion measures around 6 inches in length, with a circumference of 4.5 inches (11cm), so it’s a small to average-sized dildo that should suit most. Which is great, because you can’t swap it out for something else.

While it is made of silky smooth silicone, it’s very rigid with absolutely no squish to it. It feels like a harder plastic in the core which is then coated with a thin silicone skin, rather than a fully silicone mould. Apart from the ever so slightly bulbous head, the shaft is completely smooth and not going to give you any textural stimulation.

On the back of the toy you’ll find a larger rubber plug, which covers up the cavity into which the suction cup mount inserts. It’s a nice touch that means you can safely detach the suction mount and use it standalone without any sharp edges protruding.

However, this mount uses a custom-made plastic attachment point, and if you were to break it, perhaps during some rigorous grinding, there would be no way to get hold of a replacement. A more versatile tripod screw thread would have given you a lot more mounting options and have been easier to replace.

Thrusting and Vibrating

The “10” part of the name relates to the number of programmed sequences, which isn’t a lot, especially considering over half of those are simple speed variations. The thrusting function can extend 2.5 inches (7cm), which is significantly longer than many other thrusting toys on the market, but still, nowhere the sort of length you’d get from a premium fucking machine. Still, 2.5 inches is certainly impressive for a handheld toy.

The thrusting isn’t dynamic though, it’s a fixed 2.5 inches, and you can only choose from three different fixed speeds, and I found there wasn’t an awful lot of difference between each speed. Slow, bit less slow, and mildly faster, I’d call them. Unfortunately, the fixed speeds are all you get on the thrusting side of things, with no patterns to vary the speed.

The vibration feature, which some might rightly call fairly fundamental to a toy marketed as a vibrator, is terrible. The seven vibration modes are much as expected, with three basic speeds then a handful of more interesting patterns. But the vibration is more accurately described as a weak tingle at best.

It’s possible this is because most of the internal space has been spent on getting the thrusting feature to work, but it’s disappointing nonetheless. You can get far stronger vibrations from a ÂŁ30 mini wand. The vibrations of the Bondara Joy Extanda are more comparable to a cheap bullet vibe that comes free in an adult Christmas cracker. It’s difficult to quantify the actual vibration level, but for a good idea we dipped the tip into water. I promise this was on, yeh the water didn’t move.

The remote control works well enough, offering the exact same buttons as the body of the toy. So regardless of where you’re mounted this, you’ll have full control without having to fumble blindly for the buttons.

How Is the Joy Extanda in Use?

Because of the rigid extending dildo of this toy, you really need to be careful when angling it. There’s absolutely no flexibility, and if you’ve got it stuck hard on a wall or you’re otherwise incapacitated, there’s a possibility of, well, discomfort. I wouldn’t go so far as to say you could injure yourself, because the slightest hint of an obstacle is enough to cause this USB-powered thruster to stop dead… but still. Get your angle right.

In our extensive testing, the relatively deep thrusts were a fantastic addition to some other external stimulation. This, plus the aforementioned wand = heaven. The splashproof rating held up, as both I and the Bondara Joy Extanda were thoroughly drenched.

Sadly, activating the vibrations—whether that was during thrusting or trying to use only the vibrations externally—was just annoying, and not nearly enough to make us orgasm.

We should also talk about the battery. It may have been a hardware fault, but our test device seemed incapable of being left in a drawer without draining itself after a single session. This was common on older electronic devices, but surprising to see it still an issue today.

Bondara Joy Extanda vs HiSmith Traveller Pro

We first reviewed the HiSmith Traveller Pro back in 2020, and with a newer version 3.0 coming out since then, the 2.0 version that we have is still available and now costs ÂŁ199; double that of the Bondara Joy Extanda. If you’re looking for a small, portable, thrusting toy, we think it also fits the bill, so it’s worth comparing the two. Physically, the HiSmith is clearly bigger by a fair chunk—but it does come with a carry case. The size difference is due to the HiSmith Traveller Pro housing a larger motor that requires an AC adaptor to power it; while the Joy Extanda has a much lower-powered motor that can run off an internal battery only. Both toys feature a suction pad mount, though the HiSmith Traveller Pro (2.0 version anyway) connects the suction mount with a threaded screw, meaning you can potentially DIY your own mounting options too. Which is good because I’ve since misplaced the included one. The Bondara Joy Extanda is a custom plastic mould, and if you broke it or lost that, it would be impossible to replace.

Given the price and power difference, you’d expect the HiSmith to win out in every metric tested, but there’s actually one where the Joy Extanda surprised us: depth. In our rigorous scientific testing, the Bondara Joy Extanda won out significantly when it came to thrusting depth, managing 7cm vs the mere 5cm on the HiSmith. If you prefer those deeper thrusts, there’s a clear winner here.

The one feature that the Bondara Joy Extanda offers that HiSmith doesn’t is vibrations. They’re not particularly impressive vibrations—in fact, they’re downright awful as we mentioned earlier—but if you wanted one toy to do both jobs and enjoy weak, buzzy vibes, the Joy Extanda is it.

In terms of noise level, neither is discreet, but given the overall lack of power in the Joy Extanda, it’s certainly quieter. We measured a maximum of 64dB right next to it during operation on the fastest speed, versus 78dB for the HiSmith.

Sadly, the victories for the Bondara Joy Extanda stop there. In terms of thrusting speed, there’s absolutely no comparison. While the three settings on the Joy Extanda all go at barely a snail’s pace, even the lowest setting on the HiSmith is faster than the top speed of the Joy Extanda.

The power of the HiSmith is far greater as well, able to push hard enough for light anal sessions. We found only a small amount of resistance was required to stop the thrusting action of the Joy Extanda.

While both toys feature a remote control, the HiSmith Traveller Pro also has Bluetooth connectivity, which means you can use the app to either hand over remote control to another user, or play one of the huge library of motion scripts. I can’t overstate what an immense difference it makes to have a fully programmed motion script that you can simply hit play on, lie back, and enjoy—without needing to fuss about with a physical remote. Sure, it only varies the speed and not the thrusting depth, but it’s a huge step up from the four simple patterns of the Joy Extanda.

The final design point that the HiSmith Traveller Pro wins in is customisation. It ships with a purple silicone dildo of much the same size and style as the Bondara Joy Extanda, though it is far squishier. But you can swap it for any of the huge range of other Kliclok toys from HiSmith; something bigger, or more textured—or even something that vibrates. Or you can just use the Vac-u-lock adaptor and fit anything you want. Of course these have to be purchased separately, but it’s nice to have options. If you outgrow the size of the Joy Extanda or just get bored of the lack of textures, you’ll need to get a whole new toy, as the dildo can’t be swapped out.

Bondara Joy Extanda 10 Function Remote Thrusting Dildo Review & Comparison to HiSmith Traveller Pro

Of course, the HiSmith equivalent is bigger, twice the price, needs AC power, and veers more into the realm of mini sex machine rather than thrusting vibrator. So choosing between the two comes down to your budget and whether you want a simple, wireless thrusting vibrator, or something entirely more powerful and dynamic.

Can You Extend Your Budget?

While the deep thrusts are undoubtedly a selling point of the Bondara Joy Extanda, I’ll add a clarification that they’re only deep compared to other thrusting handheld toys. Compared to the likes of a full-size sex machine which can usually reach up to 6 inches, the Joy Extanda looks less impressive.

Before buying the Extanda, I’d recommend you consider how extendable your budget is. Or should I say “extandable”? For the price, the Bondara Joy Extanda isn’t a horrendous thrusting toy, and can certainly be pleasurable when paired with some external stimulation as well. But I can’t shake the feeling that if you really want a long-lasting and versatile thrusting toy, you should start saving up for a full-size machine, or at least double your budget to buy the HiSmith Traveller Pro instead. The truth is that any form of satisfying thrusting action requires power levels that a small vibrator-sized USB battery cannot provide.

Failing that, skip the auto-thrusting for now, and you’ll get more joy from a budget vibrator wand at half the price of the Joy Extanda paired with your choice of body-safe silicone dildo. The Bondara Joy Extanda is a positively terrible vibrator.

For that reason, we scored the Bondara Joy Extanda a mediocre 5/10.
