Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant Review

By Jezebella

A good lubricant is essential for most sexual activity. It reduces friction felt from sex toys or body parts so that you are as comfortable as possible. It can make difficult sex positions a doddle and hand jobs feel so much better. Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant is a thick hybrid lube for all around use.

Aqua (water), Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchioroisthiazolione, Methylisothiazolinone.

Hybrid lubes are water-based but contain a small amount of silicone, which makes them feel slicker and last longer than just water-based lubes. Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant is the first hybrid lube I have tried, and I must say I am impressed. It is also oil free so is completely latex condom safe.

This hybrid cream lube by Pjur comes in a simple black plastic pot containing 150ml. The label is fairly discreet, it says “Pjur Power Premium Cream” fairly large and “Personal Lubricant” much smaller below. A visitor to your bathroom or bedroom could easily mistake it for a pot of hair wax if they didn’t look closely at it. The small print on the pot contains the ingredients and some bullet points about the lube in five different languages. I like the black and silver colour scheme. I think it is meant to be quite masculine looking but it feels stylish to me.

First Impressions

To get the pot open you first need to remove a plastic seal, then the lid just pops upwards. Inside, the Pjur cream lube is a thick white glob. Getting it out is a little messy because you have to scoop it out with your fingers, but this is also quite a good thing because it is easy to get out the amount you would like to use. The lube is very thick and completely odorless which I like. I can touch my finger to it and it will bounce yet stay firm, a bit like a jelly or meringue mixture before you cook it.

During Use

In use Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant performed very well. I used it as a lube for a rabbit vibrator that’s a bit on the girthy side, and a fairly small amount applied to the shaft made the toy slide in my vagina much easier. It’s hard to tell how long it lasted in this situation as my own personal lubricant comes into play once I’m sufficiently turned on.

A better test was using it on my male partner for a hand job. In this way, I felt it wasn’t as slick initially as water-based lubes we use but it lasted a lot longer. My partner said it didn’t feel as nice to start off with, but in the long term it performed better so he preferred it. I also used it as an anal lubricant for a butt plug. I always use a lot of lube for my anal toys so I really piled it on. Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant made the plug easy to insert and it kept the toy lubricated throughout my whole masturbation session.

I’m particularly impressed with how Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant left my and my partner’s skin afterwards. Our skin felt smooth and moisturised, there was no sticky residue or feeling that a lube had been used that needed to be washed off. Sticky residue is often the most off putting thing in a lube. Pjur Power Premium Cream Lubricant probably has the best after feeling of any lube I’ve tried.

Overall, I’m very impressed by this cream lube. I like the simple pot it comes in. It’s thick, long lasting, condom safe and leaves my skin feeling nice. I’m not sure what more you could ask for from a personal lubricant. I’d like to thank Cara and Pjur for providing me with this product free of charge in exchange for an honest review. This in no way altered my opinion of the product.
