There are many standards that should appear in your sex toy collection. A rabbit style vibrator for the ladies and a Fleshlight style toy for the males spring to mind. But really, no toy kit should be without a quality wand style vibrator. So versatile for play, and simple and easy to use, it really is the go-to toy for a quick orgasm, or for a session of edge play. With that said, they really do vary, from the cheap and cheerful to the diecast expensive works of art that the top end can really throw at you.
Therefore I was interested to see something of an upper mid-range, or lower upper range (depending on your perspective) offering from Loving Joy on Cara’s list for testing in the January window. I was excited to give the Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator from Loving Joy a whirl to see if it could do the business.
The wands that I had previously used had all been mains plugged in and I had always felt that this was where the real power had come from, leading to the real high levels of intensity that they deliver. I had also used wands that I would describe as the middle level type of offerings. Not your cheap offerings, but not your top end Doxy wands either.
The Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator arrived in the post, along with a couple of other toys to review, and my first impressions of the packaging were good. The packaging leaves you in no doubt as to what is inside, with pretty much lifesize picture of the device itself. A quick flip of the box onto its side for some more information about the product and I did enjoy reading the phrase “rumbly-grumbly fun” to describe how the device will give you “ecstatic sensations”. The back of the box giving some brief directions for use and details about the materials that it was made from.
Opening the box revealed that it contained the Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator itself, along with the magnetic charging cable and a short instruction booklet.
My first impressions were that this was lighter than I expected. I had expected with the extra weight of a battery inside that this would not feel as handy to hold in comparison with my mains wand, however, it really was well balanced and not at all an issue to hold for a long time.
The Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator weighed in a little over 300g to give you an idea of the weight, just less than a can of fizzy drink. The toy itself is measured at 12 inches long, with the main body of the device manufactured out of ABS plastic. It is a silvery/grey colour and really does look the part, with quite a soft, shiny finish to it.
The main massage “bulb” at the top, which is made out of phthalate free (always good to hear) black silicone material, is incredibly smooth (no ridges, bumps or anything on the surface). It has little give to it, but no real issue with this, as the silicone used is really very soft anyway. The bulb measures in at a couple of inches and is quite a nice rounded finish to it. All in all, this Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator did look the part, and was nice to both handle and look at. I was impressed so far.
To charge the device, the cable supplied simply clicks into place just below the control buttons on the wand and connects into a USB style phone charger. Probably best to use the one on your desk at work though. The charging cable is held in place by magnets and it was an absolute doddle to charge up with the main power button illuminating to let you know that you had got the cable positioned correctly and the device is charging. The information on the internet said that the charging time was roughly 4 hours for then a 90 minute run time, I didn’t find anything to suggest that these numbers were off in any way and once charged a simple unplug of the magnetic cable and we were ready to go.
When it had finished charging, I had a quick look over the Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator and was really impressed at how this thing had not picked up any dust or anything. The silicone still looked absolutely smooth and clean of anything and I tend to find that other silicone devices can be a magnet for this, so a real thumbs up from me there.
I always like to use a small amount of a water-based lubricant on the end of my wand just to make it feel smoother and position itself more easily. Not a problem with this and the silicone is suitable for water-based lubricants. So now we are good to go.
First turning this on, with a simple hold down of the power button for two seconds, I was absolutely stunned with how powerful (but also loud) this Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator is. The 7200rpm motor that the wand packs, really does hand out a whole heap of “rumbly grumbly”. The toy has 10 different settings, which can be switched through by pressing the up and down buttons on the side of the wand.
The first three are simple rumbling vibration settings, however, I would say that the lowest setting is quite intense, there is no subtlety to this toy building up to higher settings, it is out to deliver from the outset……I love it.
After the first three settings, it then goes through another 7 different pattern based vibrations which are all fantastic in there power and vibration delivery. One very minor grumble I had is that the vibrations settings don’t cycle back to the beginning, so once you get to setting 10, you have to press down a number of times to get back to settings at the beginning of the list.
The vibrations themselves were both intense and powerful, but also very deep feeling and rumbly. In comparison to other wands that I had used previously, this one was just as powerful, just as intense -and without the headache of a power cable getting in the way, I was absolutely loving it.
I did mention the noise, and I would say that the Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator was quite loud in comparison to other toys that I have used, but not loud to a level that I would be worried about people outside of the room hearing and wondering about it.
After use the Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator was cleaned up easily with a quick wash down with soapy water, followed by a clean up with a sex toy specific cleaner, before storing (for a short time) ready for its next outing.
In summary, I loved it. The Loving Joy VITA Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator was powerful, felt great, looked even better and I didn’t ever have to think about where the cable was and if it was getting in the way. All in all, a magic wand indeed.
