Is the Womanizer Pro40 effective? How does it work –and what does it feel like? Let me start at the beginning…
Packaging & What’s In The Box
The Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40 Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator arrives in the standard discreet outer packaging from Lovehoney, while the toy itself is housed within a glossy and attractive box. The box has all the information about the product you need; the story behind its creation, how it works, the main features, company info and what you get in the box.
Cutting the hygiene assurance sticker allows you to slide the inner part of the box out, where the Womanizer Pro40 is held inside a moulded plastic insert. Behind this you find the instruction leaflet, and the USB charging lead.

Storage Options
Recently I’ve noticed that some of the Lovehoney sex toys I’ve been testing & reviewing don’t arrive with their own storage pouch –and the Womanizer Pro40 falls into this group. It’s not a problem however, and I don’t feel that the lack of a storage pouch with a sex toy should be necessarily seen as a negative factor. I rarely if ever used the drawstring pouches which used to be included with sex toys as standard, opting instead to keep my sex toys in my bedside drawer just loose, or else storing them in larger boxes with or without compartments.
Including a storage pouch with every sex toy sold would likely push up the end price for customers, and for no real reason if they don’t even end up using the included bag. Lovehoney offer several sex toy solutions on their website at great prices –otherwise I am sure you can make your own affordable arrangements using storage boxes and cosmetic-style zip cases available elsewhere online or in stores.
First Impressions & Measurements
Storage options aside, I was immediately impressed by the look of the Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40 Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator. The majority of the housing is extremely on-trend rose gold colour, teamed with black rear and side cutaways to match the black silicone clitoral nozzle. The curved shape and light weight make the Pro40 feel extremely comfortable to hold in my hand.
The control panel is white and charcoal, with the buttons easy to figure out, plus raised so they can easily be located no matter what.
At the top of the Pro40 there’s a liftable ‘plug’ of silicone which reveals the charging port.
The Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40 Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator measures 6.25 inches in overall length, with a width across the widest part of the front of 2 inches. The hole of the clitoral nozzle is 0.6 inches in diameter. These are all my own measurements.
Charging Up
Charging up the Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40 Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator is simple and hassle-free. Just plug one end of the included USB charging lead into any USB port, and the other end goes into the port beneath that silicone plug portion at the top of the toy.
I like to charge my sex toys up via my desktop PC in my office, or else using my multi USB mains adaptor plug (widely available from electrical outlets) by the bed.
While charging, a green LED slowly blinks from within the clitoral stimulating nozzle.
During Use
The stimulation that Womanizer sex toys provide is so extreme, so intense, and so immediately effective, that it’s a little bit scary –even for a sex toy veteran like myself. My favourite type of stimulation – the kind which is most effective for me – is clitoral, and Womanizer just nails it. Almost instantly. Every time.
Being a bit of a control freak, it blows me away just how quickly and involuntarily this thing can make me orgasm. And I really mean, ‘make’ me.
I’m also fascinated by this toy because the stimulation the Womanizer provides is clitorally intense, but also absolutely worlds apart from the clit stim provided by traditional vibrating toys. The gasps elicited by the Pro40 are therefore not simply pleasurable as I climax, but also gasps of sheer surprise that I’ve been pushed off the edge with brutal force, in an entirely new way.
As a woman who doesn’t tend to orgasm from oral sex, being able to almost instantly orgasm from the Womanizer Pro40 surprised me even more. The sensation is incredibly similar to someone pursing their lips lightly around my clitoris, then sucking ever so gently, combined with undulating waves of air within that vacuum to caress me firmly and expertly to orgasm. An undulating stimulation I’m able to increase or decrease the speed of at the touch of a button.
The Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40 Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator offers 6 intensity levels –and a handy feature I found by accident is that if you’re on one of the higher intensity settings, a quick press of the power button won’t switch the toy off but will instead reduce the intensity back to the lowest. Handy if you’re getting a bit overstimulated on a higher setting but don’t want the stimulation to stop entirely.
Because I’m kinky, my mind also explored the forced orgasms possibilities for this toy. Because that’s exactly how it feels to me. I don’t have to get myself ready, I don’t even have to be aroused (although obviously it’s much better when I am!) and I don’t have to concentrate, focus on any fantasies or struggle in any way whatsoever to reach that high. Simply apply nozzle over clitoris, switch on, and often within a few seconds I’ll feel the first tendrils of an orgasm building. Nothing to stop it other than if I lift the Womanizer from my body.
If I had to dig deep for an issue with the Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40 Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator, I’d say it’s the struggle I have with it once I’m actually mid-orgasm. Even this simply reiterates how effective the Womanizer Pro40 is. Because the product delivers stimulation by means of undulating air currents within the seal between toy nozzle and clitoris, detaching the nozzle from my body lessens that stimulation or can suddenly cut it entirely. I find it extremely difficult to maintain that seal –trying to lie still, keep my hand still, keep the toy in contact with my body properly- while in the throes of an excessively powerful orgasm.
Perhaps strangely, I find it easier to hold in place while orgasming if I’m standing, rather than if I’m lying down. Also, you’d think a solution would be for a partner to hold the toy instead – but while I’m thrashing about in orgasm? He has no chance.
And the orgasms are extremely powerful – I’m an expert at orgasming quietly but this thing has me worrying about screaming the house down regardless.
That said, I remain in absolute awe of the Womanizer Pro40 and its ability to turn me into a shrieking and involuntarily orgasming quivering mess. Again, perhaps it’s because I’m kinky, but the Pro40 is like a little orgasm-demanding Dominant I can hold in my hand… with safing out simply lifting the toy away from my body.
Summary
I’m still in a state of shock about how easily this sex toy can extract thunderous orgasms from my body. There’s no ‘if’ or ‘maybe’ about an orgasm when I pick up the Pro40, it’s a given. I haven’t used any other sex toy which has made me genuinely fearful about the noise I’m going to make. It’s lucky I have a variety of bondage gags about the place, to be honest.
The 6 intensity levels give me a little more control about my journey to climax, but even the lowest level is still intoxicatingly seductive. It makes me want more of it, immediately –and the next thing I know I’m about mid-level in the intensities and struggling to hold the toy against my clit as I hurtle into the orgasmic abyss.
What else do you need to know? Oh yes: it’s USB rechargeable, waterproof, and once it’s in place over your clit the toy is extremely quiet during use. Can’t say the same for myself…

Everyone raves about this type of stimulation so I wanted to get in on the action. I bought a cheaper clitoral stimulator to see if I liked the sensation, and I jolly well did! So I already had an idea this Womanizer Pro40 Clitoral Stimulator would be a winner.
First Impressions
This Womanizer Pro40 Clitoral Stimulator comes in sleek box which makes it look a bit like a lady shaver! The box slides out like a drawer and houses the Womanizer, USB charger with 2 pin plug, different sized head with the other attached, and instruction sheet. The 2 heads it comes with are medium and XL sizes.
The Womanizer Pro40 Clitoral Stimulator comes partly charged but I like to charge it up fully straight away. It takes 2 hours, then you get a whopping 4 hours of play!
The ‘treatment head’ (sounds like some sort of epilator) glows solid red when in use but flashes red when it needs charging. This is great; there’s nothing more frustrating than your toy suddenly switching off or slowing down when you’re on the brink! So you know when it needs a charge.
Slow Build Up
You can use a bit of water-based lube around the head or you can go without. I like to use some. During use, I spread my labia and position the head directly on top of my clit, and it ‘sucks’ into place easily. I like to keep my labia spread throughout play, but it’s not a necessity, just personal preference. Now I’m in position, that’s the hard work done!!
If I have plenty of time, I like to start off on the lowest speed and gradually work my way up to speed 5 or 6 and keep to that speed. If I’m in a hurry, I’ll start low and work my way up quicker to the top speed. There are 10 speeds in total, with the strongest being quite full on. The fastest I’ve been able to come with this is 10 minutes when I’ve just had time for a quickie, but I prefer to take it slower.
Working my way up like this can take time, and I feel my clit throb every so often with the throbs gradually getting closer together. I feel like I’m getting close to orgasm, then the orgasm dies down. Then it builds up again, then slows back down. Keeping it still means it’s easy to change the speed by pressing the up or down buttons. It’s fab for a lazy session, or if you want to thrust a dildo with your other hand.
This is also great for giving multiple orgasms as you don’t get numb.
I used the medium sized head more often as I prefer that to the XL, but I like that you get a choice. You can buy replacement heads separately if you wish.
