Thank you for sending me the System JO Candy Shop H2O Bubble Gum Lube to test and review.
I’ve been looking forward to trying the System JO Candy Shop bubble gum flavour lubricant as I am guilty of sticking with the same lubricant that I always use.

The packaging is very eye catching and it actually looks more like packaging for candy! According to the label, the lubricant is water-based and compatible with natural rubber latex, polyurethane and polyisoprene condoms. Unfortunately nothing on the packaging states whether the lubricant is suitable for vegetarians/vegans so I had to do a bit of research.
Following a quick look at the company’s webpage I found out that the glycerin in the product is plant based. As someone, who avoids animal products I would have appreciated having this information on the packaging but it was still useful that this information was provided somewhere at least. The product is also cruelty free and not tested on animals. Unfortunately, if I was purchasing this product in a shop, I would have avoided it purely because of this lack of information as I would have just reached for the one that had this information clearly printed on the packaging.
The bottle itself is quite easy to hold, however, it took me a while to work out I had to squeeze the bottle after opening the cap as it hadn’t got a pump.
The System JO Candy Shop H2O Bubble Gum Lube itself is clear, quite runny and has a nice consistency when you rub it between your fingers. Before trying it out for play purposes I decided to do a taste test. The flavour was very much bubblegum flavoured, and this was also the opinion of my friends who also had a taste. I did find it tasted quite sweet but it also had a strange aftertaste of artificial sweeteners, so I personally wouldn’t use it for anything other than its original intended purpose!
I decided to give it a test with solo play, toys and with a partner. First, I tried out the lubricant using my fingers. The lubricant moistened everything up nicely and I found it was much smoother than my current favourite lubricant. Everything stayed pretty moistened until the end of play and I was rather satisfied! The same goes when used with a toy, it nicely reduced any friction and allowed the toy to be used with ease.
During oral sex with my male partner the flavour was a nice change as usually we don’t use lubricant. I did find it overly sweet and didn’t apply any more lube once the flavour had disappeared. My male partner also tried it out on me and agreed with my opinion. Sensation-wise, I felt that the lube didn’t add anything extra for me when used during oral sex.
During penetrative sex the System JO Candy Shop H2O Bubble Gum Lube worked brilliantly but after a while i did find it went quite sticky and I had to reapply but initially, it did last a decent period of time.
All in all, I’m impressed with the product and would definitely purchase another lubricant in this range and next time possibly try out a different flavour.
