Packaging
The We-Vibe Bond App-Controlled Rechargeable Cock Ring came in Lovehoney’s usual discreet and sturdy outer packaging for the post. The cock ring itself is housed in a classily designed, glossy thick card box which is striking in orange and black. There’s loads of information about the We-Vibe Bond ring and its features on the reverse, sides and base of the box, as well as notes on the free We-Connect app. You can find it on the Apple Store or Google Play, or just scan the helpful QR code on the box to take you straight to the download page.
What’s In The Box
Inside the classy, well-designed box you find the We-Vibe Bond App-Controlled Rechargeable Cock Ring nestled securely on top, while underneath there’s the included storage pouch, USB/magnetic charging lead, additional spacer (makes the ring a bit larger if required), wireless remote control and a couple of small instruction leaflets.
Instruction Manuals
The leaflets are the safety instructions (white) and quick start guide (purple). Click the photos above to open, then use the arrow keys to scroll easily between images. It’s a good idea to read through these before you start playing with the We-Vibe Bond as there are quite a few features to discover – and that’s before you even consider pairing with the app!
Charging Up
Charging up the We-Vibe Bond is easy thanks to the included USB/magnetic charging lead. Insert one end into any USB port while the other connects to the metal areas on the front of the toy. I really love that the lead is marked with the We-Vibe logo, as this helps tell it apart from the many other charging leads in my drawer!
I like to use the USB ports on my laptop while in the office, or my multi-USB to mains adaptor plug while in the bedroom. These are SO handy and can be picked up easily from online stores (click to browse a selection: UK / USA).
Preparation & Recommendations
I strongly recommend washing the We-Vibe Bond Cock Ring before use. It’s fully waterproof. The instructions say that lube isn’t necessary, but I’d counter that this comes down to personal preference – not to mention your skin type and how much hair is in the relevant area. Use as little as possible though, or the ring might slip out of position or off your body entirely. It’s also worth noting that the instructions recommend a maximum of 30 minutes wear.
Operation
Manual Use
You need to press the operation button on the We-Vibe Bond App-Controlled Rechargeable Cock Ring to start the vibrations. The documentation states that there are 10 settings available when using the We-Vibe Bond, with the button on the toy, but I’ve triple checked and I count 11:
- 4x constant vibration speeds – low, medium, high, highest
- 7x various patterns including ascending, cha-cha, pulse, oscillation variations
By the way, when you turn the cock ring off, then on again, it will be on the setting you switched it off at – not back to setting #1 like some other vibrating sex toys. Press and hold the button to turn the toy off.
Remote Control
The We-Vibe Bond App-Controlled Rechargeable Cock Ring comes with a remote control, and it’s paired to the remote out of the box. Turn the vibrating ring on with the button on the toy or press and hold the + button on the remote. You can then use the remote control to increase/decrease vibrations as well as changing the vibrating setting.
The squiggle concave button seems to be a lock button.
We-Connect App
There’s no doubt in my mind that the We-Connect app is the superior way to control the We-Vibe Bond. It’s just so much easier and altogether better. Much simpler than struggling to locate the button on the toy during wear and use or finding and using the remote control each time. There are also many more features available via the app.
To pair your We-Vibe Bond with the app, you need to hold the button on the toy for 5 seconds. It will buzz twice and the front LED starts flashing. That’s how you know it’s in pairing mode. Then, with the We-Vibe Connect app, you can pair your We-Vibe Bond cock ring via Bluetooth.
Main Features Of The We-Connect App

- Raise or lower intensity by finger gestures on the screen

- Play from afar: Invite your partner to connect through the app, then they are able to take control wherever they are in the world (requires internet connection and both partners to install & use the We-Vibe Connect app)
During Use
My husband and I have enjoyed using the We-Vibe Bond App-Controlled Rechargeable Cock Ring, despite neither of us being massive fans of vibrating cock rings in general. If you are, this is the one to choose. It’s top spec, luxurious, has a plethora of innovative and thoughtful features, it’s made with silky-soft silicone, is designed to fit the majority of penis sizes and can be used over the internet/via smartphone app to spice up long distance relationships or for when you just can’t enjoy intimacy together in person.
The vibrations are definitely powerful enough to provide pleasure for both my husband and I. That said, we tend to opt just for the highest constant vibration rather than any of the patterns, because the natural movements of our bodies during sex end up with me experiencing a pulse setting, rather than delivering the constant high power vibration my clitoris wants and needs.
Using the We-Connect app really raises the game. It’s so much easier than fiddling with the small button on the ring itself, or risking losing the remote control/pressing the wrong button. The app is easy to figure out and simple to use, and we didn’t come across any connectivity issues.
The Clasp/Spacer:
The ring itself was fairly easy to fit around his penis and testicles, mainly as the watch-strap style design uses a clasp rather than struggling to fit all his parts through a stretchy one-piece ring. I was worried that the clasp mechanism would mean the ring wasn’t as secure when in place, but this proved unfounded when the ring was actually on him. It was very snug and secure indeed. I’d just say to watch out for any hairs catching when you put it on, and when you remove it afterwards.
Despite our continuing preference not to use vibrating cock rings during sex, I think this is a fantastic option for those who do enjoy them. It has absolutely everything you could possibly want from a cock ring, so it’s a brilliant investment for the right toy box.
Summary
