Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo Review

The Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo was sent to me directly from Tantus.com free of charge for the purposes of this fair and honest review. I received a number of Tantus sex toys – which made it a very happy day!

This dildo comes in recognisable Tantus packaging, but I won’t go on too much about it as you can see everything you need to know in the photographs.

You can see the dildo through the window and there’s information about the sex toy on the nicely presented box.

Removing the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo from the box, my first impressions were good: this seemed a solid sex toy which I wouldn’t have any problems using. The pink colour wasn’t too sugary sweet and actually seemed quite classy – unusual for a pink sex toy. I think that’s because instead of being a solid pink colour this dildo fades to a white tip. I got the overall feeling that this is a quality sex toy.

This vibrating dildo is part of Tantus’ O2 Dual Density range, which means that there’s a softer outer layer of their premium silicone and then inside there’s a firm inner core – also made with their premium silicone. The Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo therefore feels slightly heavier than a run of the mill silicone dildo, even with the bullet vibrator removed.

Oh yes – the bullet vibrator can be removed. There’s a hole in the bottom of the vibrating dildo and some way up inside, which means you have the choice of using the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo as a vibrator or a dildo. Here’s where we come to my only real niggle with the Tantus Duchess: the bullet vibrator is very difficult to remove if you’ve inserted it all the way into the hollow made for it. It’s easy to say ‘well don’t push it all the way in then’ but if I leave a portion of the bullet vibrator outside of the toy I don’t feel I’m getting all the vibration strength possible.

This dildo is also harness compatible. There’s a flared base which means this sex toy can be used with an O ring strap on harness. This is fantastic (if you have someone who can take the size of this dildo, we’ll come to that) but again, if I want to benefit from the bullet vibrator’s vibrations myself, against my vulva and clitoral area, then it gets pushed all the way into the dildo. Trying to remove it afterwards is a workout all on its own, and I resorted to using everything from scissors to chopsticks to try and get it out. if Tantus could develop some kind of bullet vibrator removal tool I’d be the first to buy it.*

The second thing I’d like to point out, which wasn’t a negative for me personally but may be for others, is the sheer size of the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo. This is not a dildo for the more petite, or one I’d advise using anally if you’re not very experienced and not desirous of large sex toys up your back end.

This dildo measures 7.5 inches in overall length, with a maximum insertion length of 6.75 to 7 inches (absolute max) and a maximum circumference (around what would be the frenulum area) of 6.25 inches. The shaft circumference is 5.2 inches.

Even though I guess I qualify as a dildo veteran at this point, I still found it very large to use even vaginally. It took a lot of water based lube to get this baby inside and I definitely wasn’t using the full length of it at any time.

Not using the full length of the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo meant that I wasn’t really benefitting from the vibrations in the bullet vibrator at the place where they are, which is from midway to the bottom of the dildo. Yes, some of the vibrations do travel through the silicone and to the tip, but nowhere near as strong as at the bottom, and of course not as strong as just using the bullet vibrator clitorally without the silicone dildo sheath. The bullet vibrator is one speed and has the usual mode of operation: push button base, twist off cap to replace/insert the battery (which isn’t a watch battery, hurray!)

It’s not the best bullet vibrator I’ve ever used but it’s not the weakest, even with just the one constant mode of vibration. I can reach climax with the bullet vibrator on its own – if I’m in the right mood and it’s not one of those days when only the Doxy powerhouse will get me there.

Because of these small niggles, I personally prefer to use the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo as a dildo and keep the bullet vibrator as a separate clitoral toy. I have even used them together – but as a dildo and the bullet to clit, maybe not the way Tantus intended but it’s the way which works best for me. Then again, as a versatile sex toy which can be used either in the way I prefer, or as a vibrator, or a dildo, or a harness compatible toy, a vaginal or anal toy, whichever method of use is preferable to the owner is perfectly fine. And that’s really the beauty of the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo. It’s not just one type of toy, it can be many things depending on your unique sexual desires and situation.

If the size of the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo isn’t a deal-breaker for you, then everything else about this sex toy can be worked around, in my opinion. The material is great – body-safe, non-porous, easy to clean, premium grade silicone – and it’s beautiful too. Oh, it’s also completely waterproof. The shape is almost realistic in style with the phallic shaft and tip, but not so much that it resembles the typical sex shop cream flesh and veiny ‘PENIS 1000’ styles.

As well as this Candy colour (pink) the Tantus Duchess O2 Vibrating Dildo is also available in Ice (blue) – in case simply any shade of pink sex toy is a turn-off for you.

I give it 8/10 – A lovely sex toy, well made, but a couple of niggly issues.
