At this point, I feel as if I am pretty hard to impress with sex products. I’ve been lucky enough to try out and experiment with countless sex toys and I’m always eager for more. Even if it is yet another lube.
Don’t get me wrong, I love lube. I’m in a monogamous relationship and we’re both in our 40s. Lube is essential! But when lube becomes a fairly regular part of your life, you tend to get a little picky. Favourites emerge and it takes something truly special to knock an established brand off your bedside table.
System JO H2O Water Based Lube has just earned that hallowed place.
This exquisite water-based lube provided one of the most slick and smooth sexual experiences I’ve ever experienced. These qualities are normally associated with silicone lube, and, indeed, System JO calls it “silicone feel. I usually prefer lubes with a slight bit of thickness to them and I was a little concerned when I first poured the lubricant out into my palm. It is a free-flowing liquid that spreads out quickly. This first annoyed me because I anticipated lots of dripping and mess and having to have a shower just to rinse it all off.
Fortunately, what I learned from that first time is that just a little System JO H2O Water Based Lube goes a long way. This lube has the type of staying power fellas are jealous of! There was no need for me to use so much because this lube is the best kind—it lasts and lasts and lasts. And it feels great the whole time it is being used. System JO H2O didn’t get sticky and didn’t get tacky. Those traits are the harbinger of masturbatory frustration, but System JO H2O Water Based Lube didn’t annoy at all.
Since that first test on myself, we’ve tried System JO H2O Water Based Lube with other types of sex, including vaginal and anal penetration and it has continued to excel in each new situation. Some lubes are great for specific types of sex, but not others. But so far, I’ve enjoyed System JO H2O Water Based Lube in every way we/I have played with it. I consider this versatile product a must-have for all the bedside tables, all of the time.

I was sent 2 trial size tubes of the System JO H2O Lube to review by the lovely Cara Sutra. The water based sex lube tubes are in a soft pliable tube which is transparent and has a screw top.
Firstly I have to say, please ensure you open the lube tube prior to getting warmed up, we were at the point of trying it, having got pretty warmed up and having unscrewed the top, you then need to cut open the nozzle of the tube. This certainly stopped the moment while I tried to open it without scissors (not something I keep next to the bed 🙂 ), eventually the teeth managed to gnaw through it (hearing in my head my mother telling me off for biting it with my teeth! ‘You’ll damage your teeth doing that!’), bit of a turn off to say the least. Please make the System JO H2O Lube tubes easier to open.
Once we were able to open the lube, it has no smell to it and also feels rather nice to the touch. I do worry about lubes as previously I have had discomfort and itching for a few days after use. This however, felt very nice, a bit cool to begin with, but once up to body temperature, it felt very nice and natural. There were no sticky feelings between my legs which again I have felt after using lube.
We used the System JO H2O Lube during foreplay and also during actual intercourse, again it felt very natural and made things slide very easily. I would definitely recommend this lube to anyone who likes to use them. I have used with my partner and also for solo play. The only down side was the actual size of the tube, would have loved a far bigger tube, so I best get ordering 🙂 . I cannot comment on whether it was good to use for anal as we did not manage to get that far with the tubes.
I would score this System JO H2O Lube 10 out of 10 and definitely one to buy, especially if you are of a delicate nature down below, no soreness or itchiness afterwards = bonus.

Despite being a bit of a lube queen, I relished the chance of reviewing a few samples of System JO H2O Water Based Lube that Cara had given me. The packaging is clearly for sample use only but it provides you with a basic list of ingredients, directions on storing it and tells you it’s water-based. I briefly thought my memory was getting worse as it doesn’t actually call itself System JO on the bottle. Just ‘JO H2O’ for some reason. They did manage to cram the slogan ‘meet your new best friend‘ on the tiny 4ml bottle though, which is quite a nice touch. Unlike other samples, the lid can actually be pulled off and on which means no having to chuck away any that’s left (it may be a tiny bottle, but it contains enough for several applications).
The first time I tried the System JO H2O Water Based Lube was with the Tracy’s Dog Rechargeable Magic Wand Vibrator I was also reviewing for Cara. It being a water based lube, I was happy to use it with a silicone sex toy. Despite the failings of the wand, the lube was everything I wanted. It has a great consistency, in that it is watery enough but doesn’t seem to drip everywhere (which I find really irritating). A little also seems to go quite a reasonable way.
The second time I tried it was with my partner when we had sex. The System JO H2O Water Based Lube works just as well with or without a condom (we use Pasante Super Kings). I have previously found some lubes dry out quicker and can end up drying out the condom, making me sore. This lube did not do that. It didn’t dry out at all either time I’ve used it. It also does not smell or leave a sticky residue. I would definitely use it again and may just buy myself a bottle when I’ve used all my other lubricants up!

I was sent a 30ml bottle of System JO H2O Water Based Lube to test and review, thanks Cara!
I have tried quite a few lubes and it isn’t too often I’m surprised but System JO H2O Water Based Lube did just that. The 30ml bottle comes with a flip top lid for easy access. The water based lube is a clear lube that doesn’t really have much of a scent but it does have a slightly chemically taste.
The consistency is neither too thick or too thin. Right away I noticed that it didn’t feel like water based lube at all but more like silicone lube. I checked and right enough it was water based but it claims that it is silky smooth silicone feel. Impressed! I do like silicone lube but I don’t like the greasy after feel that silicone leaves.
I really liked the silicone feel of this System JO H2O Water Based Lube, as did my partner. We only had to use a very small amount. It didn’t dry out at all during use and it didn’t get sticky the way some water based lubes do. I was expecting it to have that greasy after feel as it does feel just like silicone lube but again I was surprised! I thought that I would have to get up right way to clean up but I didn’t. My skin that came into contact with the lube was soft, you could tell that something had been used but it didn’t have that greasy feel I was expecting.
Claims on the bottle:

The lubricant packaging is non offensive or tacky, it really wouldn’t scream out LUBE sitting on your bedside table. I have no doubt that this 30ml bottle will last for a while as you really only need a small amount. Suitable for use with sex toys, compatible with condoms, suitable for solo play or intercourse.
Overall we were very pleasantly surprised with this lube. We would be more than happy to have this to hand for use as an every day lube.
Pros: Feels like silicone but is water based.

I have tried many lubes over the years including ones that were not body-friendly and ones that were awesome. I had heard from other reviewers that System JO was a great lube and always wanted to try it myself. I mainly use only water-based, unflavored lubricants, so chose System JO H2O Water Based Lubricant to try out.
And, I was not disappointed!
This System JO H2O Water Based Lubricant is pretty good—good for hand-jobs, blow-jobs, and penetrative sex.
While it is a water-based lubricant, it actually feels and works just like a silicone lube. So, if you like the smooth, slippery, silky feeling of silicone lubes, but want to use a water-based one, this lube is for you.
The System JO H2O Water Based Lubricant is a pharmaceutical grade product, body-friendly, contains no animal-based glycerin or animal byproducts, and adheres to strict FDA safety guidelines. So you don’t have to worry about what you are putting in your body.
It both smells and tastes quite sweet, although I don’t recommend eating it, the flavor is suitable for oral sex. And, while it does contain glycerin, I didn’t have any adverse reactions to it (yeast infections).
Like silicone lubes, System JO H2O Water Based Lubricant is more runny than thick, emulsifies quickly and provides a smooth, slick coating on the skin. It also maintains its consistency well and stays slippery for a long time. Dries completely with no residue and is non-sticky, unlike many water-based lubes.
System JO H2O is a fabulous personal lubricant, and I’m glad I finally got the chance to try it out. Highly recommended!
