Cute, compact and dressed to impress, the Satisfyer Pro Penguin has charmed many with its playful design – but does the pleasure match the packaging? In this post, I’ve collated four Satisfyer Pro Penguin reviews from the Cara Sutra community. Three reviewers tested the Next Generation version and rated it highly (two perfect scores and one 9/10), while one tried the original version and found it a little underwhelming. Satisfyer has built quite the reputation in the sex toy world for its style of toys, and combined with our love for penguins we were keeping everything crossed when the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation was offered for review at CaraSutra. As luck would have it, we were chosen to review it – and could not wait!

Packaging

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation comes packed in a compact little box with a very smart looking penguin on the front, complete with his cute little bow-tie!

Also pictured in the lower corner of the box is the image of the USB magnetic charging cable.

Unboxing

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation box has a “Hygienic Seal” on the openable flaps, which is a nice touch and gives the reassurance that it at least has not been opened since it left the supplier.

After breaking the seal you can slide the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation out of the box in its clear plastic tray.

As well as the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation itself, and the magnetic charging cable, there is also a simple instruction booklet.

As with most rechargeable toys the recommendation is to charge it fully before first use.
This does not come with a USB mains adaptor, so you’ll either need to already have one, or else charge this from a computer or similar device.

The charging cable connects to the base of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation via two metal contacts that it simply magnetically ‘snaps’ to.

We did actually have some trouble maintaining a good contact for charging initially. Although the magnetic contact was good the cable only needed to change directly slightly and the charging would stop, albeit that the cable was still connected to the toy. Looking closer we noticed that the contacts on the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation appeared to have a sticky residue over them. We carefully removed this thin film, which seemed to be from the manufacturing process. Once the contacts were clean the cable connected easily and the charging was a lot more reliable allowing for variations in cable angle.

Initial Thoughts

Aesthetically the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation really appealed to us, and the penguin “figure” of the toy is achieved well without detriment to the toy itself. Even the cute little bow-tie is a nice touch; it serves no functional purpose, but finishes the look off nicely.

The silicone is lovely and smooth to the touch, without any obvious seams or joins, and certainly no rough edges. We have the original Satisfyer Pro 2, and did have some concerns as to how the shorter, dumpier shape of the penguin would feel in the hand in comparison, but we found that it was actually a really nice size & shape to hold; compact but not so small as to be fiddly.

The control button area is chunky enough, and well placed to be easy to locate, and to operate, for either partner during use.

The nozzle opening appears to be wider than on the Satisfyer Pro 2 (original), but in all honesty there probably isn’t very much difference.

How It Feels

If you’ve never tried one of these pulsating suction toys then we would highly recommend them!

It is a ‘different’ sensation than ‘direct stimulation’ toys give; the closest I can describe it is as a pulsating vibration without the buzzing that a direct vibrator causes. Personally I find that this means a can play harder and for longer, as I do not get the numbing sensation that buzzing clitoral vibes can sometimes cause.

Something that was new to me with this model was the ability to be able to step the intensity both up and down at any time, whereas previously models had to be taken to the full setting before stepping back down again. For us this is a big improvement; it allows a lot more control during solo play, and gives great ‘teasing’ ability when playing together.

It has 11 intensity levels, but at the lowest levels it seems to be struggling, almost sounding like it is going to stall. I find the best starting level is around level 3 which gives a great sensation, and then up to 7 or 8 for some great intensity. Personally I find that once I go above around 8 the sensation really changes, rather than just being more intense, and I think this is probably down to how the pulsating air operates. My clitoris at that point is no longer being sucked into and released by the toy, but rather just subjected to intense non-contact “vibrations”. This is where the ability to step up and down in intensity is really appreciated as it means you can easily switch between these really different sensations during your play session.

If you do have any other Satisfyer products I would say that the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation is quieter than the Satisfyer Pro 2 that we have, but neither are particularly noisy when in contact with the body, (if operated away from the body they are noticeably louder, but where’s the fun in that?!)

Cleaning

Being silicone the whole toy is very easily wiped clean. The nozzle of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation (the white section) can also be carefully teased from the body to be given a full clean. Do take note of which way around it goes into the toy though, as it can be a bit fiddly to get back together, but overall it is generally easy to clean.

Summary

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation is a really cute addition to the Satisfyer family, and definitely one that will be staying in our collection. We have a selection of different toys, and all give different sensations on the path to orgasm. With most of my toys I can stifle myself enough that I can happily use them in the house with other people around, however with both the older Satisfyer Pro 2, and this Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation it is strictly only for use when my other half and I are the only ones home (and the windows are all closed!)

At £69.99 the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation is quite pricey, and probably quite daunting if you’ve never tried one before, I know I was wary to start with. However there really isn’t anything else like these non-contact pulsating air toys and I highly recommend it; if you buy from Lovehoney you also have the backing of their excellent returns policy should you find it doesn’t suit you.

Having tried two different styles the “next gen” model is definitely an improvement due to the ability to step up and down in intensity, and on a personal level the fact it’s a Penguin scores extra credit for cuteness.

I was sent the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation free of charge via Cara Sutra in exchange for a frank and honest review.  I own the Satisfyer Pro 2, so was looking forward to trying this cute little number out.

It arrived in a smart box with pictures on the front of the Penguin and the charger.  Upon opening, the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation was nestled in a plastic tray with the USB charger underneath.  There are no holes on the Penguin for the charge, just a magnetic area that the charger sits on and once plugged in to a standard USB plug or PC, it lights up to show it is charging.

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation feels light and smooth and is fun to look at. It is made from silicone and is waterproof too.  There are 11 settings to play with by pressing the control button to your desired level.  With the Satisfyer Pro 2, the basic setting is quite intense, but the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation was very different.  In fact when I first switched it on, I did wonder if it was fully charged as it seemed very flat.

The white head of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation sits over the clitoris and gently pulsates and has a sucking motion, you may need to jiggle it around once it is vibrating to get the best position for you.  I found the first couple of settings very mild, but pleasurable as a build-up, instead of intense straight away. The Satisfyer Pro 2 can bring me to orgasm within 30 seconds, but I was able to prolong this with the Penguin.  Using the different settings I was able to move around the settings until I felt comfortable to orgasm.

Noise wise I have to say the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation is a lot quieter than the Satisfyer Pro 2, so could definitely use this with others in the house or the next room, although you may make your own noises that may be louder.

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation can be used with lube or without; I have tried with both and found both to be as pleasurable.  The first time I used lube to be on the safe side, but I personally don’t feel that it made it any different to using it without.

The Satisfyer Penguin can also be used on nipples and gives a lovely sensation, although this may just be my personal opinion. It vibrates over the nipple and because of the sucking sensation; it does make you feel you are having your nipples sucked.

Overall the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation is light and a fun toy to have.  I certainly would have this in my toy box as a must have.  It is very easy to use, easy to charge as long as you sit the charger magnets in the correct place. The only downside of the Penguin is the length of time you can use it after full charge.  I have only used it a couple of times and not for really long durations, but on the 4^th use, as I got started, it died on me, luckily the Satisfyer Pro 2 was on standby to finish the job off.

Overall I would score this toy 9 out of 10 and make sure that I have the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation charged up at all times.  Very easy to use and quirky design.

I had never tried a Satisfyer sex toy and was keen to do so having read so many fabulous reviews of various Satisfyer products, so I was very excited to be assigned the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator to review for Cara Sutra’s sex blog.

Packaging

The Pro Penguin is presented in a dinky, compact box. There are paper seals over the box openings at each end, which means that you can be certain that the toy hasn’t previously been used or tampered with.

The key features of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator are detailed in various languages on each side of the box. A simple user guide in English, plus seven other languages, is enclosed with the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation.

Appearance

The Next Generation Satisfyer Pro Penguin is ridiculously cute and, as you have probably guessed, is designed to look like a penguin. There is even a dapper bow tie around its neck! Instead of a head, this sex toy has a nozzle, which is designed to be placed over the clit.

The Next Generation Satisfyer Pro Penguin is described on the box as being made from silicone and ABS.  It measures approximately 5” in length and 6” in diameter at the widest point, so the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator sits snugly in the palm of your hand.

Power

The Next Generation Satisfyer Pro Penguin is rechargeable and comes with a magnetic USB cable for charging. The charging point is located in the base of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator. The magnet is very strong, and the cable stayed in place throughout charging.

The battery is made from lithium ion. The instruction booklet states that the Next Generation Satisfyer Pro Penguin has 90 minutes battery life and takes about the same amount of time to charge. The instruction manual says that a white LED blinks on the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator while it is charging. I initially thought that this feature didn’t work on this particular product, but it is just not immediately obvious in bright daylight. I tried charging it again at night, and the white LED became more obvious.

Operation

The controls for the toy are located on the white belly area of the penguin. The Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator is switched on by pressing the four wave button for two seconds. The button is pressed to cycle through the 11 intensity settings. The two wave button, which is above the four wave button, is pressed to decrease intensity.

As the symbols for the buttons are in white, and the belly of the penguin is also white, I found it impossible to see where to press and had to rely on touch. I think that making the buttons a little more obvious would be helpful!

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin is used by placing the nozzle over the clit. When the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is switched on, the nozzle creates a vacuum around the clit. The pressure and vibrations that are produced can then be increased by adjusting the intensity setting.

I was amazed at how strong and powerful the vibrations created by the Next Generation Satisfyer Pro Penguin are. From setting eight upwards, the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator really has some oomph!  The sensations are not quite the same as using a bullet vibrator, as the pressure waves seem to extend to a greater area than just the clit alone.

The instruction manual says that:

‘the Satisfyer Pro Penguin enables multiple and incredibly intense orgasms in minutes’.

Each time I used the Satisfyer Pro Penguin, I achieved a very intense orgasm. The kind that you can feel slowly dissipating from your body, and which leave your heart racing.  I did try for another orgasm, but I found that I was too numb after one use of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator, so I can’t vouch for the ability to produce multiple orgasms, but my orgasms were definitely incredibly intense!

The instruction manual recommends using the Satisfyer Pro Penguin with water-based lube. This certainly adds to the sensations and helps to seal the toy around the clit.

The description on the box refers to the Next Generation Satisfyer Pro Penguin as being ‘whisper quiet’. It does sound very loud on the highest intensity, but I left it running on my bed with the bedroom door closed and I couldn’t hear it from the other side of the door.

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin is stated as being waterproof.  I rinsed the product under the tap after cleaning it with sex toy cleaner after each use, and it still functioned properly. After drying it off, I tried it again, and everything worked as it should. The Satisfyer Pro Penguin is easy to clean, and the white insert for the nozzle can be removed for cleaning.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation Clitoral Stimulator and award it a very deserved 9/10.

Many thanks to Cara Sutra for sending me the Satisfyer Pro Penguin to review. Recently on social media and blogs I have been seeing a lot about the Satisfyer range of sex toys and hearing nothing but good things about them. Therefore when I was chosen to review the adorable Penguin I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype.

Most people I’ve seen compare these toys to the well known Womanizer which unfortunately I haven’t had opportunity to try. However I do own the Noire Fontaine ‘Clitorizer’ as it was called on Lovehoney (before it was discontinued) and I absolutely love that toy.  I couldn’t help but compare the Satisfyer Pro Penguin to the Clitorizer during use.

First Impressions

Before I get into using this sex toy I’ll begin by briefly mentioning the packaging and the look of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin. It comes neatly packaged in a tasteful box and is shaped quite like a penguin, hence the name. It’s two tone pink with white buttons in the middle. I would’ve preferred my Satisfyer Pro Penguin to be blue and I think had it been blue it would’ve lived up to the penguin name even more. But that’s just me nit picking and doesn’t actually affect the use of the toy.

Operational buttons on the Satisfyer Pro Penguin are located in an easy to reach spot. This area also lights up during use so it’s easy to find the buttons if you are using it in the dark. There are two buttons, an on/off button and one to cycle through the vibration intensities. The toy always turns on at the lowest setting and once the highest setting has been reached continual pressing of the button will cycle back down through the speeds. I would’ve preferred separate buttons for going up and down because I never concentrate on many times I’ve pressed it which can mean I end up looking for higher settings but actually end up decreasing the strength.

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin comes with a removable silicone nozzle making cleaning easy (being waterproof also helps the cleaning process) but the downside to this is that it could be easily lost and there are no spares included.

Charging Up

The charging is magnetic. I’m not a huge fan of magnetic chargers as it’s so easy to knock them out of place and interrupt the charging but this one seems to have quite strong magnets… they snap together really well. First time charging can take up to 8 hours so the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is not a toy you’re going to be able to rip open and start playing with right away. However patience is a virtue – or so they say. Whilst charging up, a light will flash. A steady light indicates that the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is fully charged.

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin seems to hold it’s charge quite well, for the amount I used it. It never died on me, though I did charge it before my last use as I didn’t want to risk it dying mid session.

How It Works

The Satisfyer Pro Penguin is a suction type sex toy. It doesn’t actually suck, but the way the head seals around the clitoris and then delivers contactless pulsations makes it feel similar to gentle sucking and blowing on the clitoris. Which, if you’ve never tried it before, is an awesome sensation. If you look inside the nozzle when switched on you’ll see like a little disc just pulsing away and going faster with each click of the button. This pulsing sends vibrating air towards your clitoris without anything ever actually touching your clitoris. It’s great for anyone who finds they get numb from toys really quickly.

In The Water

First time I used the Satisfyer Pro Penguin I decided to use it in the bath. The sex toy is completely waterproof and of course I couldn’t resist a little bath time fun. My Clitorizor isn’t waterproof sadly so I couldn’t wait to see what one of these suction type toys felt like underwater. I wasn’t disappointed, as it turns out I feel that the sensations from this toy are actually intensified underwater, which is great. However, whilst I enjoyed the Satisfyer Pro Penguin underwater I discovered afterwards that I had managed to give myself friction burn. I don’t really know how but that was a bit ouchy for a few days after.

In The Dry

On dry land I used the Satisfyer Pro Penguin so many times. Any toy I get to review I like to use thoroughly before starting to write. Depending on the type of toy, this usually works out about 3 to 4 times before I feel I have a well rounded opinion on it. The Satisfyer Pro Penguin however left me puzzled every time. Did I like it? Was it as good as everyone was saying? I couldn’t decide because while I orgasmed with it, I didn’t do so easily but I still felt satisfied. I have come to the conclusion that I do like the Satisfyer Pro Penguin but I don’t love it.

Perhaps if this had been my first experience of suction type toys and had I not owned a Clitorizer I would be saying that this toy really blew me away – but when I compare it to my Clitorizer it’s just not on the same level. The Clitorizer gently draws intense orgasms out of me over and over with no effort from me whatsoever whereas the Penguin takes a lot more concentration from me and once I’ve had one orgasm (eventually) thats it, I can have no more. Well I probably could if I wanted to lie there for another couple of hours, but that one orgasm I do have still feels really good and immensely satisfying. I find with these sorts of toys I have long and deep orgasms rather than just ‘surface’ ones, if that makes any sense.

Issues

I think there are two reasons why I don’t get on as well with the Satisfyer Pro Penguin. One is the shape of the nozzle and two is the strength of vibrations. The nozzle on the Penguin is squoval (like a squared oval) and frankly rather large considering it only needs to sit around the clitoris. The nozzle on the Clitorizer is small and circular and provides a much more pinpoint precision on the clitoris.

The larger head of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin means even with parting the labia it’s still really hard to get a good pinpoint precision on the clitoris. I struggled to get a good seal as well, and to get any benefit from this toy you need a good seal so that all those vibrations reach your clitoris and don’t escape out of gaps from a break in the seal. I tried both with lube and without, but either way it wasn’t easy to get it sitting perfect.

Power

I find the strength of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin to be really lacking on the first couple of settings. The first setting  especially I thought to myself ‘what even is the point of that?!’ when I first switched it on. I could barely feel anything from it… blowing on myself would probably have more of an effect than that first setting!

There are 11 settings in total though the last 3 are hard to differentiate between. Due to lacking power on the first couple of settings, right from the get go with the Satisfyer Pro Penguin I have to crank it up to the third or fourth setting then steadily increase as I near orgasm. Using this toy during sex is doable – but quite difficult as it tends to get knocked out of place a lot. Plus the handle is pretty short which makes it uncomfortable to hold in between two bodies.

Noise

The noise level of the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is quite reasonable. It’s not silent by any means but it isn’t going to raise the roof either. It also gets a lot quieter when it’s placed on the skin though each increase in strength still increases the noise level slightly.

Summary

In conclusion: the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is cute, waterproof (which is a huge bonus) and it does work well but just not mindblowingly well. When I first discovered this sort of toy I was so sure that they wouldn’t work on me and my fussy clitoris, then the Clitorizer changed my mind quickly and easily. The Satisfyer Pro Penguin however lacks a little power and therefore unfortunately leaves me needing to put in some concentration and effort to orgasm. As I’ve said before I like it but I don’t love it, I’d give it a 6 out of 10.
