Having seen the name Lubido around for years, I was curious about how their sex lube actually performed during sex & masturbation. Therefore, I picked up a jumbo 500ml pump dispenser bottle of beautifully clear Lubido Water-Based Lube when I next needed to replenish my sensual glide supplies. Water-based lubricant is my lube of choice; it’s easy to use then wash off after use and is compatible with any sex accessory such as sex toys or condoms. Sometimes, you just want a fuss-free lube that does the job without stickiness, weird smells or negative reactions to the formulation. Does the Lubido water-based lubricant fit the bill? Read on to find out what I thought.

Packaging
I bought the jumbo 500ml bottle of water-based Lubido lube, and it arrived in discreet outer packaging for the post. Inside the outer wrap, my new lube bottle was carefully packaged to prevent any rolling around during transit. There was shrink-wrap plastic around the pump dispenser top, for added reassurance and safety.
Once removed, I noticed a handy removable plastic piece which prevents the pump dispenser being accidentally depressed and the leakage of any lube. It’s unlikely I’ll choose to travel with the jumbo 500ml bottle, but I kept the locking piece anyway, just in case.
Dispensation
I’m so pleased to have been able to find some water-based lube which is made by a reliable name in the sex lubricants world, comes in a handy huge bottle, has a convenient pump dispenser top style and has a budget-friendly price tag. The bottle sits secure and stable thanks to its flat base and chunky shape, meaning I can rely on it not to tip when I reach over to where it sits on my bedside table to dispense a little into my hand.
Pump dispenser top is my favourite type of lube container; it’s easy to dispense even with one hand, which of course is extremely useful during masturbation or sex.
Value for Money
At the time of writing, a 500ml bottle of Lubido Water-Based Lube costs £12.84 from sextoys.co.uk. In my opinion this is exceptionally good value for money. The Lubido Water-Based Lube ingredients are: Aqua, Glycerine BP, Mono Propylene, Glycol USP, Hydroxyethyl, Cellulose, Phenoxyethanol.
As you can see, this lube contains glycerine. Some people with vulvas find that glycerine negatively affects their vagina. Thankfully, I don’t have any issues with it myself.
Formulation
Regarding the thickness and feel of the lube, this one is your standard clear water-based lube. It’s slippery rather than greasy, tacky or gloopy. It isn’t a thick, viscous type, such as anal lubricants, but it isn’t so thin it will run straight off your fingers when you dispense some. I didn’t experience any irritation, although the inclusion of glycerine might be something to consider if you have a sensitive vagina.
This is one of those practical bedroom staples that’s easy to reach for, works with all your sex toys and condoms, and rinses away without any hassle. If you want a no-nonsense water-based lube from a trusted UK name, Lubido is well worth having on hand (and many other places).
