Lovehoney have been releasing new sexy advent calendars every Christmas for a few years now, and they are consistently popular –to the point of selling out entirely, well before Christmas. I was obviously delighted when the team sent me the Lovehoney Couple’s Sex Toy Advent Calendar 2020 for my review here on the Cara Sutra sex blog. Spoiler: this Christmas countdown calendar is very exciting and well worth the price tag. On the website, it’s known as the Lovehoney Best Sex Of Your Life Couple’s Sex Toy Advent Calendar -which, like the calendar itself, is rather a lot get your tongue around.

Packaging & What’s In The Box

All deliveries from Lovehoney are packed well and safely, and the outer packaging is discreet, ordinary brown boxes (or jiffy bags, for smaller orders). You don’t have to worry that you’ll be announcing your love of sex toys & more to the delivery person or your neighbours!

The Lovehoney Couple’s Sex Toy Advent Calendar 2020 was wrapped in thin plastic to protect the glossy card outer, and there’s a little sticker which shows the best way to open the doors without damaging the rest of the structure.

First Impressions & Measurements

As you might imagine, the Lovehoney Couple’s Sex Toy Advent Calendar 2020 is a rather sizeable affair. There are 24 doors, each with a sex toy or sexy treat behind. The outer glossy card is attractive and feels appropriately deluxe, in shades of rich purple with stars decoration. The calendar opens in book-style, and there’s a small flat magnetic area on the inner of each side which ‘clicks’ it shut.

It’s rare that I can purchase something so full of sexual pleasure potential yet not have any idea what I’ve ordered, and what I hold in my hands once it arrives (unless you read the product page fully, of course!). I had successfully avoided all spoilers before my 2020 sex toy advent calendar arrived, and it was thrilling to hold the weighty calendar in my hands and genuinely not know what it contained.

The Lovehoney Couple’s Sex Toy Advent Calendar 2020 measures just shy of 17 inches (43cm) in height, with a total depth of both sides of 5.1 inches (13cm). Across the front it measures 10.5 inches (26.5cm) while the measurement across both sides when the calendar is fully opened is 21.1 inches (53.5cm).

I feel thoroughly spoilt to have received the 2020 Lovehoney sex toy calendar –it truly is the gift that keeps on giving. This year’s sexy advent countdown calendar contains 24 sextoys & sensual treats worth, in total, over $365 (£295). It costs just £100! A true bargain.

Something I really want to note here: I know some other, non-sexy advent calendars often try to cut corners and stuff their advents full of items which may have some retail value in terms of usual sale price, but which are essentially just fillers. Things you wouldn’t buy ordinarily, and which you won’t use, just to ‘get rid’ of them in an advent or to fluff up the ‘contents worth’ quoted price. I didn’t feel this way with the Lovehoney Couple’s Sex Toy Advent Calendar 2020. This calendar is full of toys and treats I will genuinely use time and time again. There wasn’t that sense of disappointment, knowing you’ll end up throwing some items away because they’re just ‘not you’.

On top of all this, the ‘star prize’ on day 24 is literally breath-taking – a proven effective clitoral stimulator by a top, multi award-winning brand – Womanizer. That toy is worth just under $80 (£70) all by itself, and the whole advent calendar is only $50/£30 more than that!
