I’m especially pleased to try out and own the LELO SUTRA Cuffs as we share a part of our name. This makes me smile. 🙂
The LELO SUTRA Cuffs come in the usual branded LELO box and within the black lidded box the cuffs are wrapped in LELO tissue paper. There’s a pinned on LELO branded card tag which is simply removed, leaving you with your cuffs ready to play with.
Using the cuffs
I actually already had the purple variant due to a gift years ago – so now I have both the purple and the red style of LELO SUTRA Cuffs. Both shades are rich and give the feeling that you own a deluxe item. They’re also available in black. Each cuff, which I would prefer to use on the wrist rather than the ankle, is made up of a dual sided wide piece of material. The side facing in, against the wrist, is a patterned silk. The outer area is suede, and has a silk piece of ribbon attached to this area, to which there are two D rings attached. one D ring has a trigger clip, the other has a non removable chain connecting to the central ribbon piece which is attached in the same way to the D ring on the other wrist cuff. The other wrist cuff is the same.
The LELO SUTRA Cuffs are easy to use and attach. You simply place the wide band around the wrist of your chosen consenting partner and use the trigger clip to hook on to the D ring at the other side. When both cuffs are in place like this, the interconnecting chain/ribbon part means that their movement is limited and the person is restrained.
I would note that this restraint has an air of romance rather than hardcore bondage. If the restrained person were to put up a proper fight and pull vigorously on the cuffs, then the material would probably rip along the stitches and they would break. The LELO SUTRA Cuffs have quite obviously been made for a more sensual and light teasing session of bondage rather than for use in your local fetish dungeon. They’re also beautiful props for a sexy photo-shoot.
Although I do like and use the LELO SUTRA Cuffs, the one thing I would change about them is the interconnecting ribbon and chain part. I feel that this should be removable, which means that the LELO SUTRA Cuffs could be worn as separate fashion accessories on an adult or kinky night out or to a fetish event. They’re beautiful and comfortable, but with the connecting part non-removable their use really is limited to a more intimate setting.
The piece of material making up each of the LELO SUTRA Cuffs measures 5.8 inches in length and 2.75 inches in width when laid flat. The interconnecting chain and ribbon part measures 14 inches in total length, of which the ribbon measures 7.2 inches. Due to the trigger clip fastening to the central chain parts on these cuffs, you can use them with larger wrists, depending on where you choose to clip the cuff on the chain. The smallest wrist measurement that you can achieve with the cuff fastened is just under 6 inches circumference by my measurements. I have pretty small wrists (6 inch circumference) and these cuffs are perfect on me.
The LELO SUTRA Cuffs are easy to use, comfortable to wear and come with the hallmark of luxury and quality that is the assurance of all LELO sexual and sensual products. These would make a beautiful romantic gift for a kinky lover, and the colours are sure to appeal to a wide variety of tastes and match with the bedroom equipment you already have. My only niggles are the non-removable middle section and the fact that they’re limited to sensual use rather than hardcore bondage, but that’s a personal choice. They’re also not cheap – but you’re investing in a product which is built to please and last – as long as you don’t do a Hulk on them, of course.
