I was selected by Cara to test out the Doc Johnson Crystal Jellies Anal Delight Trainer Kit, quite a mouthful to say the least. I had been looking forward to testing out this product as it was already on my To Buy list. I have plenty of other Doc Johnson plugs/dildos and have never been disappointed with the quality so was hoping this would not let me down.

Packaging
The Doc Johnson Crystal Jellies Anal Delight Trainer Kit, which consists of two butt plugs; one small ‘beginners’ plug and one slightly larger but identical in appearance ‘advanced’ plug, is packaged in a simple, moulded plastic sleeve accompanied by a cardboard information insert which is brightly coloured and easy to read. This isn’t my personal favourite in terms of style of packaging as I think it is a little dated, however it does the job and keeps the toys safe and clean in transit. The packaging was easy to get into, no scissors required on this occasion!
Appearance and ‘Feel’
The appearance of the plugs in the kit is where this product really stands out from the crowd for me, the plugs are tinted with just the smallest hint of colour, in this case a light purple, however I do believe there is variations available in a rage of colours with a similar crystal-like effect. Despite being coloured, the plugs are still almost completely transparent, allowing you to see straight through them.
The design is over all very pretty and I think quite feminine, certainly easy on the eye for anyone cautious of beginning anal play. The plugs have an almost graduating bulbous appearance, beginning with a small bulb at the tip of the plug progressing to a larger bulb towards the base of the plug followed by a slim ‘neck’ and chunky ‘T’ base designed to stay outside of the body.
The plugs are soft and as the name describes like the texture of jelly, a little too soft for my liking, I will explain why shortly.
In use
Up until this point I had been reasonably impressed with the Doc Johnson Crystal Jellies Anal Delight Trainer Kit – it was well packaged, looked great and felt like it could be a lot of fun too, however when I came to insert and use this product the disappointment begins… I started initially with the smaller plug – unfortunately whilst the jelly like appearance looks fantastic, it is simply not practical or easy to insert, I found the tip of the plug bending and squirming all over the place. When I did finally manage to get the plug inserted the ‘neck’ is so narrow that it is difficult to keep in place and sits quite uncomfortably when inside. As the base of the plug is made of the same material that too didn’t feel as stable as it should and gets extremely slippery when in contact with any sort of lubricant leaving the whole experience feeling quite frustrating and messy.
Putting the experience of the smaller plug aside, I gave the second slightly larger plug a chance to redeem the kit. I was greeted with the same problems as before. The larger plug put up a little more resistance when inserting however both plugs would benefit greatly from being a more rigid.
Conclusion
The Doc Johnson Crystal Jellies Anal Delight Trainer Kit is a great looking kit that given the size of the plugs would be suitable for those new to or just beginning anal play. The texture lets these items down massively, however this may be helped by a loosen up with anther toy or finger before use. Such a shame as these plugs really do look fantastic and the kit has a great concept.
