I’m a sucker for cute designs on sex toys, so the Adrien Lastic Red Devil Pocket Vibe caught my attention during last month’s Pleasure Panel Round. I initially volunteered for this with my partner in mind as I thought it might be fun for him to be teased with. He doesn’t need the strength that I do so I thought it was worth a try. I had a prior expectation that this wouldn’t be powerful enough for me to make use out of based on the batteries that it takes and my preferences, although I believe this is marketed more towards women. I personally think it could be fun for any gender as long as the person in question isn’t a power queen.

Packaging

The packaging for this product is fairly simple. A plain white box with a glossy product photo on the front, Adrien Lastic branding on the sides and instructions for use on the back. Inside, the Pocket Vibe Red Devil rests alongside a satin storage pouch.

First Impressions

The Adrien Lastic Red Devil Pocket Vibe is made up of two parts. A silicone sleeve and a petite bullet vibrator that slots inside of it. Silicone is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and odourless. It’s also free from latex and phthalates, so if you’re as conscious about using body safe sex toy materials as I am, be reassured that there’s no worries here. I have felt a lot of silicone over the past couple of years and I’ve generally found that the cheaper stuff feels a bit rough with a lot of drag to it, but this was not the case. The silicone actually feels rather smooth and pleasant to the touch but I’d still recommend a sprinkling of water-based lubricant to remove any unwanted friction.

This is a fully waterproof toy, so it can be rinsed with some soap or toy cleaner after use without any problems. Make sure the base is screwed on firmly beforehand though.

Power Type

In order to begin the vibrations, you need to unscrew the cap of the bullet and remove the paper disc that’s inside. Once you’ve done that you can screw the case back on and press the singular button on the base. There’s no need to fuss around with batteries on the first use as there’s already a set inside the bullet waiting to be used. The life of these watch batteries never lasts long, but a few uses should be manageable before they need to be replaced. I’d recommend stocking up on LR44’s if you decide to purchase the Adrien Lastic Red Devil Pocket Vibe.

During Use

As I turned this on for the first time I was expecting to feel underwhelmed. Not because I felt that this would be a bad toy, but because I know how much power I require. I was right to feel that way as the vibrations left me with a lot to desire. I have to say that the single steady speed isn’t as luck luster as I thought considering the size and type of batteries the bullet takes. It’s definitely more than a gentle tickle, but it feels like the lowest setting on many cheaper battery operated vibrators. There’s nothing particularly special about it.

It’s not a vibrator that I could use for anything other than frustrating teasing, but it could potentially be enjoyable to some. If you’ve never used a vibrator before and want something small and non-intimidating, this could be fun for you. If you’re particularly sensitive, as my partner is, then this might also be an option for you. He enjoyed the Devil’s horns to be placed either side of his nipple as the vibrations buzzed away. This had to be combined with some sort of stimulation to his penis, but the extra stimulation this provided bought him to a faster orgasm.

Conclusion

Overall, I would say that those who need power would be left feeling disappointed with the Adrien Lastic Red Devil Pocket Vibe, but I’m sure it has a place in someone’s toy collection. It’s rather silent, so would be a great choice for some fun teasing in a hotel or a first time toy for someone who requires direction, but don’t expect major orgasms from it. I think this is more of a novelty vibrator than something that’s designed to produce orgasms.
