Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart Vibrator Review

I was lucky enough to receive some more sex toys to review recently, and amongst the pile of fun was the Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart Vibrator. This vibrator is part of the Wonderland range from Doc Johnson, based on the Alice in Wonderland story by Lewis Carroll. There are several Alice-inspired vibrators in this collection, such as the The Kinky Kat, The Mystical Mushroom, The Pleasurepillar, The White Wabbit as well as ‘mini’ versions of all of the above.

Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart Vibrator ReviewThe Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart vibrator was sent to me free of charge in exchange for a fair and honest review. It was sent quickly in discreet packaging and with usual professionalism.

Packaging

The glossy card box that this vibrator comes in depicts some very pretty Alice in Wonderland inspired graphics and the Doc Johnson logo. The box also gives you some information about the vibrator inside as well as the social media accounts of Doc J.

Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart Vibrator ReviewThe vibrator is set within a moulded plastic insert which keeps it safe through storage, transit and delivery since its manufacture. The overall length of the Doc J Wonderland Heavenly Heart vibrator is 5.75 inches, with an insertable length of 4.25 inches. The maximum circumference is 3.9 inches. Although you can insert this vibrator I preferred to use it as a clitoral stimulator as it’s a little small to use it vaginally.

Design

I was hoping that this vibrator would be bright, pillar box red or scarlet but in fact it’s more of an orange-tinted red or coral. The material over the inner workings is silicone, which warms quickly to your own body temperature and feels smooth to touch. Obviously as a silicone sex toy you are only able to use water based lubricant with it – or a hybrid lube which is compatible with silicone sex toys.

Vibrating Settings

Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart Vibrator ReviewThere are ten functions on this vibrator, which are turned on and operated by the push button on the base. During use this area lights up and I must admit, is reminiscent of ET’s finger.

I’d describe the functions as follows:

  • High constant vibration
  • Lower constant vibration
  • Lowest constant vibration
  • Ascending fluttering pulse
  • Dot-dot-dot pulse
  • High frequency fluid dot-dot-dot pulse
  • Faster high frequency fluid dot-dot-dot pulse
  • Thrusting type pulse
  • Dash-dash-dash pulse
  • Very light tap-tap-tap pulse

You press and hold to turn off; upon starting up again it picks up from the function it was last on, not from function one.

During Use

This is one of those vibrators which doesn’t do anything wrong, exactly, but it wasn’t a personal success. It’s not a total fail, it’s just so-so. I’m not particularly bothered about using it again; I won’t be keeping it close to the bed to reach for when I want to orgasm. In all fairness, I do have a lot of other sex toys to choose from and I have a personal preference for incredibly strong and deep vibrations.

If you prefer light to medium vibrations which are more buzzy than deep then this vibrator might be a winner for you. They are too weak for me, and this isn’t helped by the fact that the motor is in the top of the shaft but not in the heart shaped silicone area right at the tip. I can eventually orgasm with it if I resign myself to the idea that I’m going to be at it a long time and have to work hard at it. Perhaps add in a decent vaginal vibrator and maybe even a butt plug too. And nipple clamps. And some lesbian porn. And a nuru massage. You get the idea.

But who knows, maybe you have a more sensitive clitoris than I and don’t like the jackhammer whammy of mains powered magic wand vibrators or deep and precise spine-rattling vibes.

The heart shape at the end of the vibrator is a practical as well as an aesthetic feature, as are the three raised hearts along the length of the shaft. This adds a dimension to using the vibrator externally and internally which would be lost if it was simply a smooth cylindrical shape.

Summary

The Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart vibrator didn’t come with a storage pouch but sex toy storage is available from online sex toy retailers at great prices. The packaging also included some beautiful faux rose petals inside some funky fuchsia pink tissue paper wrap.

For the price you’re getting a vibrator which offers middle of the road vibration power and a body safe material which is non-porous. It’s also waterproof so you can use it in the bath or shower as well as clean it thoroughly between uses. It takes one AA battery which is inserted into the screw off cap end. It’s easy to use, quiet and discreet enough to go with you wherever you go, whether in travel case or handbag.

The Doc Johnson Wonderland Heavenly Heart Vibrator is beautifully presented and fans of Alice will love this vibrator – as they will the rest of the same range. The Queen of Hearts didn’t win my heart this time, but I am sure there will be some loyal subjects out there somewhere.
