YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube Review
YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube review by Just Jess
After reviewing the Yes Cleanse Organic Cleanser for the July round of the Pleasure Panel (it’s awesome by the way) I spoke to Yes and they kindly sent me two of their lubes to try, this in no way affects my opinions of the products which will always be my own.

As with the cleanser I was hugely impressed by Yes’ commitment to organic products. Their website gives loads of details about the origin of their ingredients; the key points for me being they are certified organic (95% of the ingredients in their products are organic), contain no glycerine or parabens and Yes only use ethical production methods.
Yes kindly sent me a bottle each of YES BUT, a water based anal lube and YES OB, an oil based lube which intrigued me as I’ve never tried one before.
I’ve never used an oil based lube before. I’m always wary of lubricants that might stain or are incompatible with certain toys or condoms, normally grabbing water based lubes for convenience.
YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube is not condom safe but can be used with silicone toys.
I chose to test the YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube with my newest glass dildo which features a very large bulbous head. Normally I would only use a tint drop of water based lube on a glass toy but the sheer size of the head on this made me want to try something more substantial that was going to last.
Dispensing some of the lube into my hand I was surprised to see little grains of bees wax in the lube, I knew from the packaging that this was one of the ingredients along with sweet almond oil, vitamin E, sunflower oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. The ingredients in the YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube sound like an expensive moisturiser rather than a lube but it can also be used as a massage oil.
Rubbed into my skin the YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube felt amazing, so silky and soft, its perfect for massages and spreads really well but I found the little blobs of bees wax only disappeared with firm rubbing.
When used as a lubricant I could never get the beeswax to disperse so this remained in little blobs all over my dildo and hands. I did find this lube long lasting but not as cushioning as YES BUT and the silky texture which had felt amazing on my skin during the massage felt odd on my genitals and I didn’t like the residue it left.
Speaking of residue, the YES OB Plant Oil Based Lube did leave marks on my sheets; these washed out easily but it isn’t idea for everyday use.
I will use this lube again but only for massages. The texture and residue just don’t work for me as a lubricant.
