Sliquid Satin Lube Review

By Nat and Tom

Sliquid has been my go-to lubricant brand for months now, so I was really pleased when the lovely Cara agreed to send me a 12 x 5ml pack of Sliquid Satin Lube sachets to review as part of the Pleasure Panel.

Why do I like Sliquid so much? Primarily because all of their lubricants are free from Glycerine, Parabens and Proplyene Glycol, along with a few other ingredients I’d like to avoid using on my intimate areas. Sliquid lubricants are PH balanced, 100% vegan friendly, cruelty-free, hypoallergenic and non-toxic, with Sliquid Satin Lube being made with an Aloe Vera and Carrageenan infused water-based formula. It is safe to use with condoms and any type of sex toy, as well as being ideal for penetrative sex.

The Sliquid Satin Lube sachets arrived in a navy cardboard cube, which Cara had placed inside a zip lock bag for extra protection. The box lists all the ingredients and instructions for use. The cube and even the sachets themselves are quite discreet, so either could be left out without drawing unwanted attention.

I always do a patch test before applying lube to any intimate areas as I have sensitive skin and have had reactions to lubes in the past, but as expected, I had no reaction to Sliquid Satin Lube. I didn’t find that the lubricant left my skin feeling sticky and greasy like many do, but I did note that it absorbed faster than Sliquid H20 and other similar products. It seems to only last 15 minutes or so before needing to be topped up.

It has a great consistency, being somewhere between thick and thin, whilst avoiding being runny. This is one of the most natural feeling lubricants I’ve come across and I think it feels similar to the lubricant my body makes on its own. I take certain medications that affect how much natural lubricant I can produce and have found that Sliquid Satin Lube feels like an extension, rather than a replacement to that.

In use, this lubricant has been fantastic with my silicone toys, I’ve found it helps them to glide more easily and makes the session much more comfortable, particularly with toys that have more of a drag, such as the GODEMICHE Adam Dildo. It’s also been great during vaginal sex. My other half is quite large, so extra lubrication is always welcome to make things more comfortable for me. It can be used for anal play too, but I found it was too thin for me to use in this way, unless it was with a small, smooth toy like the Tantus Silk.

Sliquid Satin Lube Review

One thing I really like about Sliquid Satin Lube is that it doubles as an intimate moisturiser, this means none of the product has to go to waste. When we use sachets usually, 1/4 ends up being wasted as we never need the full 5ml during a session, but as Sliquid Satin is multi-purpose, each sachet has been used fully. It absorbs faster if it’s been rubbed in, rather than just applied, leaving the areas feeling soft, moisturised and hydrated.

Overall, I really enjoyed using Sliquid Satin Lube and will invest in a bottle or two at some point. Everything about it is pretty perfect as it has no scent/barely any taste, a great ingredients list and fantastic texture. My only criticism would be that it doesn’t last as long as I’d like, but I’d rather reapply a nice lubricant two or three times, than use a long-lasting bad lubricant once.
