You can never have enough lube. I use it very often, since sex toys feature heavily in my sex life, but it also makes sex without toys easier and more fun for many people. And Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube has the best of both worlds: it’s a blend of water-based lube and silicone lube, which makes it compatible with sex toys (except some silicone toys) on the one hand, and more slippery and long-lasting than regular water-based lube on the other hand. This makes Sliquid Organics Silk an excellent choice to use in several different scenarios.

Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube comes in a handy bottle with a clickable cap that closes securely so you don’t put lube everywhere. The bottle itself is made from plastic; soft enough to be easy to squeeze, but not so soft that you’d accidentally squeeze out too much lube. It’s also easy to store and to travel with.
The lubricant comes in different size containers, depending on your needs: 2oz/60ml, 4.2oz/125ml, and 8.5oz/255ml. Aesthetically, it’s quite a pretty bottle: dark, like tinted sun-glasses, with an off-white label and a pretty font. It won’t look out of place on your bathroom shelf or bedside table.
The lube itself is a blend: mostly water-based, but containing 12% of silicone. This makes Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube more cushiony and slippery than regular water-based lubes, which does enhance the experience (I always have a preference for thicker lubes). It doesn’t dry down as fast water-based lube, but isn’t as persistent and sticky as silicone-based lube. If you find that water-based lube doesn’t suffice, but silicone-based lube gets everywhere and is impossible to clean, Sliquid Organics Silk might be a great alternative.
Since Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube does contain 12% of silicone, its compatibility with silicone toys can be a bit tricky. It’s compatible with some silicone toys, and not with others. I would recommend doing a patch test before using this lube with a silicone toy. Put a dab of lube on the base of the toy and wait a while. If it gets glue-like or peels off, the silicone in the lube is reacting with the toy. If it doesn’t, it’s safe to use! I tested it with Tantus and Fun Factory, and didn’t have any trouble. If I were you, however, I’d still do a patch test before use – especially with other brands.
Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube is clearly not as compatible with all toys as water-based lube, but it’s easier than silicone-based lube. Like silicone-based lube, it can obviously also be used with toys made from other body-safe materials (I love using it with glass toys), or for sex that doesn’t include any toys.
Sliquid’s Organics line incorporates natural ingredients to avoid triggering any sensitivities or allergies. Sliquid generally works with safe and gentle ingredients, but this line goes a step further. Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube contains aloe vera and several other natural extracts, as well as the silicone, of course.
The full list of ingredients is: Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Organic Agar Agar, Organic Guar Gum, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Palmitate, Polysorbate 20, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Organic Hibiscus Extract, Organic Flax Extract, Organic Green Tea Extract, Organic Sunflower Seed Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid.
Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube has a milky colour, and a consistency that reminds me of vaginal fluids. This makes it quite pleasant and unobtrusive in use. Not only does it feel nice in use; it might also be a viable option to use in an ejaculating dildo, if that’s something you’ve been looking for.
The Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube is supposed to be fragrance-free, but that’s not entirely true. Its smell is not unpleasant, though: it’s a vaguely chemical vanilla- or cookie-like scent – not as natural like cookies baking, but rather like a cheap but subtle vanilla perfume. Nothing overpowering, though, don’t worry! It might just be something to be aware of if you have fragrance sensitivities. Its taste is really unpleasant, though. Tangy, sharp – like many lubes, it makes me splutter and spit upon tasting it. You may want to stay clear of this lube during oral sex.
Sliquid Organics Silk Hybrid Lube has one other disadvantage: its price. Sliquid lubes are incredibly high-quality, but quality obviously comes at a cost. It remains a great lube, though, so if you can afford it, I totally recommend splurging on it.
