It’s been a while since I reviewed any Rocks Off sex toys, so I was very happy to hear from the team asking for a review of one of their more recent additions to the range, the Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator. I originally saw this vibe at the ETO Show last June and it did seem quite powerful. This doesn’t always translate into efficiency when it comes to providing plentiful orgasms, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to put the RO-JIRA to the real test.

Packaging

Like most of the Rocks Off range, the RO-JIRA comes in a high quality branded box with a transparent window so you can see the product inside. Over this main box is a labelled card sleeve, which bricks and mortar retailers usually keep on so as not to offend the more sensitive types who may wander into the shop. The main box itself simply lifts up with a hinge back, presenting the Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator for you to easily lift from the inner protective moulded area which has kept it safe and in position during storage, transit and delivery.

As always, delivery from Rocks Off was fast, professional and discreet.

The RO-JIRA is a black, silicone covered sex toy which offers ten vibrating speeds and patterns. It’s also waterproof, and rechargeable – so no worries about running out of batteries.

Charging Up

Charging up is simple, just plug the jackpin into the port made for it on the end of the Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator and the other end into any USB port. A red LED light lets you know that your vibe is charging up, this changes to green when it’s fully charged.

Settings

I’d describe the 10 vibration modes as follows:

1. Constant
2. Lower constant
3. Lowest constant
4. Long burst dash
5. Short burst dash
6. Shortest burst dash pulse
7. Varying dot dash pulse
8. Dot dot dash pulse
9. Dot dot dot dot dash dash pulse
10. Fast ‘drumroll’ pulse (roll then ratatat tat)

Operation

To operate the Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator, just press the button on the side. Press again and again to discover all the modes. Press and hold from anywhere to switch off. When you press to turn on again, the modes start again from mode one.

At this point I must say a huge THANK YOU to Rocks Off for fixing the problem I found with their vibrators previously. The button was always on the bottom of Rocks Off bullet vibes and other vibrators, but on the RO-JIRA it’s on the side. Doesn’t seem like much of a change, at first glance, until you actually use the toys. Putting the button on the bottom of the toy means that during insertion there’s a risk of pressing the  button and switching to a mode you don’t want, or holding the  button down while pushing the toy in and inadvertently switching it off. With the button on the side of the vibrator instead all of that worry is eliminated. Brilliant.

During Use

The Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator can be used both internally and externally, ie for vaginal and clitoral stimulation. I wouldn’t advise using it anally (men or women) as there’s no flared base, but men may enjoy the powerful vibrations on their perineum, over their testicles and penis shaft. When I say powerful vibrations, I really mean it. Ok, so they’re not Doxy powerful – but really, what is as powerful as a Doxy. For a handheld vibrator, the RO-JIRA provides a vibration strength which is strong enough to make you gasp on the top level, constant speed. There are pulses and lower speeds for those who prefer less than jackhammer power against their sexual zone.

I’m a fussy and spoilt girl when it comes to vibrators. Most standard vibes just don’t do it for me anymore. My clit demands only the highest, purest levels of power in order to reward me with orgasm. If it’s not Doxy, iGino, BMS Factory, LELO (mostly)… my clit simply refuses to play and actually sulks at me.*

Did It Work For Me?

I am very happy to say that the RO-JIRA is a winner. I didn’t expect it to be. In actual fact, considering the run of disappointing sex toys by the bedside table at the moment, I was scared to even try the RO-JIRA. I convinced myself it was going to be a flop. I was sure that nothing could get me off other than the staples of my toy collection – Doxy, iGino, Swan et al. The Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator took on the challenge and won. I saw the RO-JIRA, I came, I was conquered.

I must admit I tend to stick with the top highest constant vibration setting as it’s my personal favourite. I can decide where to put the vibrations, and pull them away from time to time if need be, or push the toy harder against my clit, or move it to the side and so on. I also prefer to use the Rocks Off RO-JIRA Rechargeable Vibrator for clitoral stimulation as I’m a clit kinda girl, not so much into penetrative orgasms. It’s easy to see that this is a very versatile sex toy though which will appeal to many people, however they choose to get their pleasure. Men can also benefit from it and it’s a fun vibrator to use during foreplay or during sex.

Improvements

The only improvements I’d make would be to provide a satin or other fabric storage pouch as this is a silicone sex toy and it’s not exactly cheap at £60 – and to make the vibrations even more powerful. Yeah, I’m greedy.
