I was recently lucky enough to be accepted onto the Cara Sutra Pleasure Panel as a reviewer, and as such I was sent the MEO Small Anal Stretching Ring free of charge from Cara Sutra in exchange for my observations and impressions in the form of a frank and unbiased product review. It arrived in an unassuming, plain brown Jiffy bag without any clue as to the contents.

On getting the Jiffy bag home I discovered that it contained an information sheet, one of Cara’s business cards and a flyer along with a bubble wrap bag containing the “stretching ring”.

The MEO Small Anal Stretching Ring is a tunnel type of butt plug and I have to admit to having no experience of this type of toy, hence my desire to give it a good try out 😉 This took a little research and I had my eyes opened to the possibilities presented by having a hole in your butt plug.

If you simply wanted to stretch the opening then there are a myriad of plugs in varying shapes and sizes on the market to accomplish this. What the tunnel appears to offer the user is more of a mental stimulation from being “open”. This would create a feeling of vulnerability in the user while fitted with the tunnel. Also, it gives any playmate a view into the open area and access with either fingers or toys, and is an easy way of inserting lube or administering an enema. Another, apparently popular, use is to induce enforced anal incontinence!!! Now I don’t consider myself a prude in any sense of the word but I do draw the line at hard sports. Also I’m not exactly sure where or when I would be able to put that to the test. So please forgive me if I let anyone who is interested in that application try it out for themselves.

With this in mind I opened the bubble wrap and got my first real look at the MEO Small Anal Stretching Ring.

It is an impressive looking piece of kit and, in my opinion, is very definitely a ‘male’ orientated item. It is anodised shiny black and despite being made from medical grade aluminium, it has ‘heft’. The look is almost intimidating and it feels substantial. Even though I only had the small version it had gravitas. All this was helped by the fact that the whole thing has been beautifully made and finished. It is just like a top end butt plug, except for THE HOLE………I’m not quite sure how to describe a hole, but it is definitely there! I will simply rely on the fact that there will be pictures accompanying the review!

According to the information sheet the dimensions of this small version are as follows:

Length – 8cm (7cm insertable)

Pillar circumference – 11cm (4.25in)

Bulb circumference – 16cm (6.25in)

Hole diameter – 2.5cm (1in)

Unfortunately for me the MEO Small Anal Stretching Ring arrived right at the beginning of the half term holiday and I was away for most of it. (Hence the slightly apprehensive visit to my neighbour!) Even once things had returned to normal I was still playing catch-up for a few days, so by the time I finally got to play I was more than ready to try out this versatile little toy.

 

As I’ve mentioned, this is the small version of the toy and I do like a bit of a stretch so I measured it against my usual toys and found it to be the same size as one of my warm up plugs. With this in mind I anticipated no problems.  Well!  First off I do not own a metal plug and so hadn’t thought about the temperature of the toy.  Metal is cold and cold causes a bit of contraction in certain areas. Also, the hole in the toy effectively gives it a flat end and anyone who has tried to insert anything flat will know that it is just that little bit harder to get past the sphincters.

So I applied my usual lube but between the cold and the flat end I actually had more trouble than anticipated in getting the toy inserted. However, once in, it warmed up quickly and was actually very comfortable to wear. The rim around the bottom is just big enough to stop it from disappearing altogether but small enough to sit snugly between the buttocks. Since the info stated that the MEO Small Anal Stretching Ring would be “Ideal for 24/7 use” I thought that being comfortable was a big plus.

Now for the HOLE. I couldn’t actually feel the hole with the toy inserted. Other than the shaft of this toy being thicker than a normal butt plug there was no different feeling.  No draught or cold air! So, I concentrated on the fact that I was being held open. I don’t know if it was my lack of imagination or just that the thought of being ‘open’ wasn’t my thing but I really didn’t feel any different.

That aside, the hole was there to be used so I decided to use it. The hole is 8cm long and my longest finger is 9cm. Unfortunately, due to the angle and only being able to get a single finger in, I could not even reach the internal rim let alone touch any part of myself, so prostate massage was out of the question and due to the thickness and length of the stem it was difficult to angle the toy into a place where it would press against the prostate.

I have a small bullet vibrator that I had checked would fit snuggly into the hole. Once inserted and switched on the whole toy began to buzz in a pleasing manner however since it was only really touching my sphincters the effect was pleasant but minimal. I am afraid that I do not possess a vibrator long and slim enough to get any further through the hole but I suspect that you would still have a similar problem as the toy is difficult to angle without constant pressure.

[Note from Cara: please don’t use bullet vibrators with tunnel plugs! Or for anything anal related at all. Only use flared base toys for anal play. *worried face* ]

No matter “Next!”

Ok, into the shower. I removed the shower head and made sure that the water was nice and warm before pushing the hose into the hole. The hole is 3.5cm and my shower hose is about 2cm so there was no seal formed and this meant that the effect was more that of a colonic irrigation than an enema. A lavage if you like. I tried lying down with my bum up a bit but the result was the same. There is no pressure to give a proper enema but I did feel very clean afterwards!

One of the advantages of being “open” is a view into the wearers’ anal cavity. Again, something I have not experienced from either side. So as I do not have a handy “lookee” I got my shaving mirror down and had a good look around. Unfortunately even in bright daylight it was impossible to get a view up the tunnel. I think that on a larger version (There is a fist sized one mentioned) it may be possible to have a good look but the small hole just didn’t let in enough light.

I was not going to try the enforced incontinence side of things but I was interested in the stretching and prolonged wearing so I got dressed with the toy in place and went about my chores. In the house chores that is, There is no way I was going out on the town for my first try! I wore the toy for about 2 hours until my body reached the point where it started to get pushed out.

I have to admit to feeling quite vulnerable and exposed in an “I can’t tell if I’m safe or shitting myself” kind of way! Not something that tuned me on I’m afraid.

So in conclusion, the MEO Small Anal Stretching Ring is beautifully made and a joy to behold. It fits well, is comfortable to wear for long periods and if it was a bit bigger I’m sure it would be able to deliver on the stretching promise. If you have the right toys and partner then the hole would be a source of much entertainment and pleasure but the incontinence thing was not for me I’m afraid. The info leaflet does mention a silicone plug that can be used in conjunction with the tunnel to make it a more conventional plug for long term wear.
