My Review

The inclusion of a bath bomb in my sexy review package was very welcome – who doesn’t love a self-pamper session in a relaxing bath? I knew about the Lovehoney Oh! Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bombs already, as both the ‘for him’ and ‘for her’ versions were provided for the Cara Sutra sex toy tester team to review in recent months. I was looking forward to having the chance to try one out for myself.

This Lovehoney Oh! Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her is cellophane shrink-wrapped inside a bright ‘n funky Lovehoney branded box. I could smell the lovely fragrance of the bath bomb just upon opening the glossy card box, and the bomb wasn’t even out of the plastic yet!

I must admit at this point that I wasn’t expecting great things from the bath bomb as I’d read someone else’s review and they weren’t all that impressed. However, I was really surprised when I had my pamper sesh with the bath bomb – plenty of bubbles appeared while the bomb was in the bath with the hot water running, and the smell from the bath bomb is gorgeous; a relaxing, fragrant, pleasant scent.

After not too long at all I noticed the contents separate from the main powder element of the bath bomb in the hot foamy water, so I went fishing and retrieved the ‘surprise’. It’s a semi-transparent Kinder-egg style container which protected the toy within from the bath bomb surround then the eventual water. Unscrewing the two halves revealed the vibrating toy – a battery-powered screw-cap bullet vibrator with a removable stretchy finger sleeve complete with stimulating nodules and a bulbous, angled tip.

Video

Take a look at my video to see the Lovehoney Oh! Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her under water, the retrieval of the toy and how to operate the vibrator:

I’m not one for sleeves over my vibrators, so when using this vibe I ditch the sleeve and just use it as a bullet vibrator. The sleeve feels like it’s made from TPE as well which isn’t my favourite material. The bullet vibrator is single speed, a very buzzy but powerful speed reminiscent of the famous and popular Rocks Off RO-80 Bullet Vibrator. It’s operated by pressing the button on the end. Just make sure you remove the protective paper disc in the battery compartment before you try and use it, and don’t over-screw the cap as the water-sealing ring between the cap and main body of the vibrator tends to pop out.

Not the best bullet vibrator in the world but it’s surprisingly effective.

My Top Tip for this Lovehoney Oh! Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her is to have someone else on hand, so they can:

1) cut the bath bomb out of the shrink-wrap –it’s on there tight

2) unscrew the toy canister once the bomb dissolves enough to reveal it

3) remove the paper disc from the battery compartment of the vibrator, if you plan on using it immediately

All of the above are difficult (if not impossible) while you’re sat in a lush bubble bath with wet hands!

JustJess’ Review

I love baths, they’re one of my favourite simple acts of self-care and rarely fail to help me relax. I spend a fortune on bath bombs, oils and salts so I was really excited to try the Lovehoney Oh! Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her.

Not just a bath bomb, Lovehoney’s Sexy Bath Bombs hide a cheeky treat – think Kinder Eggs for grown ups! The Lovehoney Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her contains a finger vibrator, whilst the “For Him” version has a cock ring hidden inside.

The Lovehoney Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her comes in Lovehoney’s signature own brand packaging, a pink box with black detailing and funky coloured hearts. It’s inoffensive, none explicit and discreet – perfect.

The Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb is then bubble wrapped inside. If you truly wanted this to be a surprise for a partner, you would have to remove it from the box as the contents are listed so this would give the secret away!

Lovehoney Oh! Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her Reviews

The Lovehoney Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her itself is pretty uninspiring aesthetically, it’s much bigger than a normal bath bomb but that’s the most remarkable thing about it looks wise. It’s just a large white ball with a thick seam down the middle. My normal bath bomb collection is bright and colourful, often handmade and full of gorgeous perfumes and oils so the Lovehoney Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her was a bit uninspiring.

I put my reservations aside, after all looks aren’t everything, and the contents of the bomb were more intriguing than the packaging.

I ran a deep bath and dropped the Lovehoney Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her in, and waited… and waited. It fizzed lacklusterly but didn’t really melt. I left it for a few minutes and the water began to cloud but the bomb itself was still intact in the water.

I jumped in but it took about ten minutes for the bomb to soften and even then I had to crush it in my hands to get to the plastic egg inside that houses the finger vibe. The lumps of left over bath bomb floated around for a few minutes and never really fully dissolved.
As just a bathing product the bath bomb was seriously disappointing. The aroma was clean and fresh but indiscernible; and whilst the water clouded, it didn’t foam or feel particularly oily/moisturising or of anything at all much. I’ve had nicer baths with £2 Radox.

Ignoring the disappointing bath bomb I took up the plastic egg to play with the finger vibe.
Annoyingly for a £15 toy the finger vibe is made of some sort of cheap, jelly material. I would have hoped for slightly better quality at this price. It looks very cheap and I wouldn’t ordinarily pay more than a few pounds for something like this, so even with the inclusion of a bath bomb and the novelty factor, £15 just felt excessive.

The finger vibe is powered by a waterproof mini bullet vibe which uses 3 watch batteries (provided). Annoyingly, I couldn’t initially get the vibe to turn on and realised there must be an insert in the battery compartment to stop it turning on. This is so inconvenient when you’re in the bath! My hands were too wet and slippery to open the bullet, even after I’d removed the jelly sleeve. A pull off plastic tab would have been a much better option.

My bath was almost cold by this point so dejectedly I just got out and went into my bedroom to try out the finger vibe once I was dry.

With the small plastic disk removed from the battery compartment, I slipped the finger vibe on and added a little water based lube.

The bullet is single speed and offers very buzzy vibrations though these are quite strong. The sleeve itself is textured with little jelly nodules for extra stimulation. There was nothing really wrong with the finger vibe, it just didn’t offer the kind of stimulation I like, the vibrations were just far too buzzy and the nodules were too soft to offer any really friction once I was aroused.

Overall, I found the Lovehoney Oh Sex Bomb Sexy Surprise Bath Bomb For Her a real flop, both as a toy and a bath bomb. For £15 I would have expected something much better.
