Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit Review

I’m a big fan of strap on play, both pegging a partner or for DP on myself but none of my current strap ons are particularly well suited to the latter, so I jumped at the chance to review the Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit (4 Piece) from Lovehoney when it came up for review on September’s Pleasure Panel.

The Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit includes three dildos (one of which vibrates), plus a strap on harness. Pictures of the contents cover the outside of the box meaning it’s probably a little indiscreet to use for storage but there are no lewd pictures and the packaging is minimal which I appreciate. I was also happy to note there didn’t appear to be any gendering on the packaging.
The Strap On Harness
The harness itself is quite basic, consisting of several adjustable straps which you can tighten around your waist and thighs for a perfect fit. The straps are seriously long, adjusting to fit up to a 70 inch waist,. Whilst this widens the use of the harness and makes it usable for most people I did find these too long for me and ended up having to wrap them around the waist band several times and/or tie the excess in bows to stop them trailing.
The strapping is quite soft and didn’t dig into me during play even though I had the harness fastened quite tightly. It’s also a little slippery so I did have to re-tighten the harness a few times during use as it came loose.
Dildos attach to the harness via one of three interchangeable O-rings that are held in place by press stud poppers. The different O-rings mean you can attach most flared based dildos to the harness making it hugely adaptable. I’ve been able to fit at least six of my dildos to it. If you did happen to have a particularly large (or small) toy you wanted to use, it shouldn’t be too difficult to obtain an O-ring to fit.
Unlike the strap on I currently own (or my pegging pants) the harness in the Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit doesn’t have a pad that sits behind the dildo, instead relying on the strength of the O-ring and the harness strappings to hold the dildo in place. I worried this may mean the strap on was less stable (no one wants to have to hold the dildo in place while they’re fucking!) but in use the harness seems strong enough to hold the weight of most dildos. There is a visible droop with some of my heavier dildos meaning I’ve had to guide them into a partner but the harness is sturdy enough to then hold them in place without me holding them too.
The length of the straps means the Lifelike Lover harness can be positioned in quite a few different ways. I’ve managed to wear pegging pants under them and position the O-rings above and below a penis to the kit for DP.
I found the best position for me was to have the waist band quite far up my back. I do have a slight curve to my spine and positioning the harness here seemed to give me greater stability and stopped the waistband slipping down. Aesthetically this did look a little strange but it worked for me, and I’m sure no one was looking at my back while I was wearing this!
The Dildos
Although phthalates free the dildos in the Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit are made of PVC. This is not a material I tend to use for penetrative play as PVC is porous and therefore cannot be 100% cleaned or sterilized. I tend to use condoms anyway if I’m going to be sharing toys either between orifices or partners so whilst this isn’t a deal breaker for me, I would have preferred dildos made in a non-porous material. Lovehoney’s Lifelike Lover Realistic range includes a number of silicone dildos and had I been buying this kit for myself I would have opted for silicone attachments over PVC.
All three dildos have seriously strong suction cups. I managed to attach these to a partner’s head and chest (for no other reason than I could) and whilst the hold wouldn’t have been strong enough to use the dildos I was impressed that they managed to stick to skin at all!
Classic 6 Inch Vibrating Dildo With Balls
This dildo is girthy and very realistic looking even down to the testicles. The coronal ridge is very pronounced and gives a popping sensation as it’s inserted, but the veins didn’t seem to add any additional texture for me as they weren’t raised enough to be felt when the dildo was in use.
This dildo is also a vibrator with 3 speeds and 7 patterns. The batteries for this are attached on a long wire to the base of the dildo, I found the battery compartment quite annoying in use and ended up tucking it into the waist band of the harness as otherwise it just got in the way.
The vibrations are quite weak and the buzzy; I’m a bit of a power queen and the vibes just weren’t strong enough to bring me to orgasm. This feature didn’t really add to the experience for me and I doubt I’ll use the vibrations again.
Basic Slimline 6 Inch Anal Dildo
I wasn’t personally a fan of this dildo from the Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit. There isn’t enough girth for me to enjoy it vaginally, and anally I found it quite pokey.
I can see why it would be good for beginners -especially to anal play- as the slimline design is easy to accommodate and you can use it to build up to bigger toys. However, as an experienced anal player I didn’t find the Basic slimline 6 inch anal dildo filling enough for me.
Ultra 8 Inch Realistic Dildo
The length of this dildo from the Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit meant it was long enough to thrust vigorously without it slipping out. I do tend to prefer longer dildos for pegging for this reason and the Ultra 8 inch realistic dildo definitely delivers on this front. It’s not so long it provides too much of a challenge but it’s girthy enough to give a really full feeling, especially during DP.
Overall
I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the Lifelike Lover Realistic Pleasures Strap On Dildo Kit (4 Piece), especially for the £55 price tag. I would absolutely prefer non-porous materials and stronger vibrations, but the kit is hugely adaptable, affordable and a hell of a lot of fun.
