LELO TIANI 2 Vibrator Review

The LELO TIANI 2 Vibrator is quite possibly the most technical, gadgety sex toy I have ever had the pleasure of trying.

I received the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator in the post quickly and safely.

The premise of the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator is similar to the We-Vibe 3: it’s not only a vibrator that couples can use together, during sexual intercourse, it is also able to be controlled via wireless remote control, giving much more freedom and more position potential during sex.

 

Within the box, I received the following:

• Rechargeable vibrating unit
• 2 differently styled, screw on ‘tails’ that fit to the rechargeable vibrating unit
• Wall plug
• Circular remote control (requires 2 x AAA batteries, included)
• Plastic ‘key’ to open remote control battery compartment
• Sample of LELO moisturising lubricant
• Satin drawstring storage bag
• User manual, 1 + 10 year LELO warranty & a Do’s and Don’ts leaflet
• Insignia signature brooch

I got the small vibrating unit plugged in with the wall plug straight away and there is a little light that lights up when it’s charging. The remote control I opened with the plastic ‘key’ provided (quite swish for a plastic tool, with the LELO branding) and inserted the 2 AAA batteries that provides its power.
When it came to using the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator, I wanted to try and get my head around the seemingly hundreds of different modes and functions and ways to use it. I felt like I was cramming for exams!

Sat up in bed, I examined the oval tipped tail (smaller but similar in shape to the We-Vibe 3 ‘tail’) as well as the new addition to the Tiani (compared to the first version), the flatter ended, squared tipped tail.

They screw on to the small vibrating unit, over the area where you plug in the charging wire, conveniently sealing this area when in use. Oh yes, the Tiani 2 is waterproof as well. Always a big plus with any sex toy and probably a big part of the price you pay. It does mean no worries when you’re washing the unit afterwards; as well as obviously the freedom to use it in the bath or shower. Or your local swimming pool. Just kidding, I wouldn’t advise trying.

Looking at the Tiani 2 as a stand alone vibrator, without the remote control for one moment, I found 6 vibrating functions. You press the slightly indented area on the outside of the Tiani 2, which is easy to see (and also feel, in the dark) by way of the raised ‘amplify’ style markings over it.

When in use, a white LED there shows you that it has received your instruction. Press it once to wake up LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator (and show that you will be controlling it via itself not the controller), then again to reach the first function.

I describe the functions as follows:

• Constant vibration
• Intermittent, dash-dash-dash vibration
• Faster intermittent, dot-dot-dot vibration
• Low to high vibration speed, then stop, and repeat
• Oscillation – a wave style vibration
• Pulsing and varying vibration pattern

The vibrations are felt obviously strongest in the vibrating unit, where the motor is. The tail is purely silicone. When you wear the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator inside your vagina, the tail tip is inside your body, with the curve and design meant to stimulate the G-spot too. The vibrating unit remains outside the body, cradling and stimulating the clitoris.

I prefer to use the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator during sex with the flatter tail, which I find feels much better with his penis also inside, than the oval/rounded tip. The wider surface of the edge just feels more comfortable. As for the vibrations, I can feel them fantastically against my clitoris, but not so much inside. I think this is because while he is inside too, there is just no way that the vibrating unit is going to cause the vibrations to travel through silicone material, against my flesh and his. It would need another vibrating motor in the tip to really make a difference.

As it is, the internal tail portion does serve to keep the external arm in position during sex, so that was a welcome stimulation. Use with some water based lubricant for best effect.

I also found that I set the vibration to where I wanted, before he entered, then didn’t try to fiddle with it during sex. The button seems small and also slippery during sex – and if you get the wrong function for you, it’s just annoying.

Now – let’s add in the remote control.

The remote control is a round disc that you hold (or your partner holds) in the palm of the hand. One side is gold in colour, which has the central ‘slot’ that you insert the plastic ‘key’ into, to reveal the battery compartment. There are also indents on either side, so you can use your thumbs to twist it off too, if you wish. You only need to twist or turn the key very slightly to remove the lid of this battery area.

The other side of the remote control is the same velvety soft silicone material as the main Tiani 2 toy. The fascia is segmented with a central crescent, after which it has a slightly lower area where the controls are located.

The controls are the same as on other LELO Insignia toys: a + and – button, separated by the central () function button. + and – raise or lower speed and the central button travels through the functions.

In order for the remote control to know you want to use it with the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator, you need to press the + button on the controller, as well as also holding the power button on the vibrator for a second. Then they find each other. It’s quite romantic actually.

It’s rather like Bluetooth technology and if you think of it like that it makes it all that little bit simpler. Not that ANYthing is simple about Tiani 2. It really is the sex toy for geeks. I have had to ban my partner from trying to take it apart to see how it all works. Just trust me that it DOES work. As long as you can remember what it is that it’s supposed to do.

Strangely, the remote control also vibrates at the same time as the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator. I guess this lets your partner know which function and at what speed the vibrator is vibrating. If it gets annoying it can always be put down. It does mean though, that you can use the remote control as an external massager in its own right, over her vulva, nipples or even his balls and penis shaft.

Ready for a little more geekery? You don’t have to press the buttons on the controller. Yes, really. You can use the special SenseMotion technology to tilt or shake the remote control, raising or lowering the vibrations transmitted. Genius.

However. This is rather difficult to control when you’re actually ‘in flagrante’ – flailing around the bed during vigorous and passionate sex is not the ideal time to wondering if your hand is holding a silicone controller in exactly the right position or at the precisely correct angle for the speed you desire.
It is very fun though.

Does the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator work? Yes, yes it does. Do I like it? Yes, I really do. Does it scare me? Yes – a lot.

I just don’t think I am capable of being extremely aroused, wanting passionate physical loving AND then have to deal with holding the myriad of Tiani 2 functions and capabilities in my head at the same time. Perhaps I’m stupid. Perhaps you will do better than me. All I know is that if you are dedicating yourself wholly to the sexual experience, there usually isn’t much left for cognitive, intelligent thought.

And that’s what the Tiani 2 needs. So I prefer to use the Tiani 2 on it’s own without the controller, just using the button on the centre of the external part to buzz my clit happy, either alone or during sex with him.

One night when I’m naked and ready for sex and he doesn’t want to immediately pounce straight in, perhaps he will enjoy tilting and shaking and working out the controller portion properly. When this happens I’ll fill you in with the details. After my hugely offended argument with him.

I can see why the LELO Tiani 2 Vibrator is a revolution in sex toy engineering and technological design. It is innovative, luxurious, rechargeable and waterproof. It’s amazing. I still don’t feel I know everything there is to know about this incredible product.

If the height of sexual technological advancement is what you’re after in a sex toy, then the Tiani 2 is your winner and even at £100+, represents an unmissable investment.

If you like your sex toys simpler, then stick with the likes of the We Vibe Couples’ Vibrators or the traditional LELO toys.
I do love the design & think it is such an amazing toy that I can only take off one point for being slightly too techy, if anything.
