The LELO IDA Vibrator is the sibling sex toy of the LELO Tara vibrator in the LELO family of high end, luxury designer vibrators and sex toys. TARA and IDA are essentially the same toy which a few upgraded extras on the IDA. LELO IDA has the SenseMotion remote control and 8 functions, Tara comes without a remote control and only has 6 functions. You have to grapple with lubey thighs with the Tara; with the Ida, you don’t. More on this revelation later in the review.

LELO IDA is available in Black, Pink or Lilac, I have the Black edition.

As with the rest of the popular LELO sex toys range, the IDA is made from medical grade silicone. The gold coloured reflective areas on the disc parts of the remote and the toy itself are made from ABS plastic.

What you get in the box

In the standard, well designed and classy LELO package you discover the standard black, lidded LELO box. Open the lid and reveal the LELO IDA Vibrator and remote sat within a specially designed inner area. Lift the flap to one side and retrieve a pack of batteries for the remote, mains charging lead for the IDA , storage pouch, instruction book, warranty details, remote control opening key and a sachet of LELO personal moisturiser (lube).

Powering up the LELO IDA Vibrator

Before you get started you need to ensure both parts of the LELO IDA Vibrator have enough power. The 2 AAA batteries supplied go into the remote control. Use the plastic key provided to ‘unlock’ the reflective side of the remote then insert the batteries. Replace the lid by twisting it back into position with the key.

The LELO IDA Vibrator is rechargeable and there is a mains lead supplied. The jackpin end goes into the small port provided for it on the side of the toy, the other plugs into any mains socket. There is a small orange LED which lights up to let you know it’s charging. I tend to plug in new or dead rechargeable toys before going to bed at night and they’re ready to go in the morning.

Operation

Once you have your charged up IDA and ‘batteried’ remote control, you’re ready to rock. The operation is the same as the Tara for the main device, with a power and function button on the side of the toy. However as the LELO IDA Vibrator is remotely controlled too, you have this option to play with.

The sensemotion functions are quite lengthy and to get a proper idea of them I suggest you read this instruction guide or take a look at where I’ve already explained them in this LELO Tiani 2 review with video.

How it works

The ‘probe’ part of the LELO IDA Vibrator slips inside the vagina, while the disc part comes up to cradle and sit against the clitoral region of the woman. The man penetrates her vaginally, as in traditional PiV sex. Once the IDA is powered up, either the man or the woman can take control of which vibration speed or rotation speed feels best, by sharing control of the remote. Or, decide which of you is going to take the reins over the session before you get really into it.

The remote control is light enough and eye catching enough that you can place it down on the bed or floor next to you then easily find it again when you need.

RANDOM IDEA: a harness/pendant/choker worn around the neck of either partner which holds the remote leaving either partner hands free and the remote still very close in reach? Could be a popular add-on purchase. 😉

Functions

As mentioned above you can see how the SenseMotion is meant to work through this link. However I will take you through how it worked for me with this particular product. The SenseMotion toys are very techy and there’s so much you can do with them, it sometimes feels like you need a while to study them up beforehand! I always forget the range of functions when I’m actually having sex or mid-masturbation though.

Basically there are 8 functions. Tilt to vibrate, shake to vibrate, constant vibration, pulsing vibration, faster pulsing vibration, escalating vibration, wave vibration, various pattern of vibration.

Turn on the LELO IDA Vibrator first with its power button. Turn on the remote control with the plus button. Tilt it a bit and you will feel the remote and the IDA vibrate. The probe on the IDA will also rotate. Turn the remote from horizontal to vertical to see the full range of vibration.

Press the central () button to switch function. Press it to step forward to the shake to vibrate function.

Press the central button to discover the other vibrating functions. These can be tuned to the intensity of your choice using the + and – buttons.

To turn off, press and hold the – button. Press and hold the power button on the IDA to turn that off, too.

There is an orange LED on both the IDA and the remote. If it’s still glimmering at you, it’s on. Make sure you turn both the IDA and the remote fully off before storage.

I warned you there’s a lot to it.

How it feels

The LELO IDA Vibrator feels exactly the same as the Tara, but with much more freedom as you have the remote control. As you can tilt or shake the remote to deliver different vibrating functions to the LELO IDA Vibrator, you do need to watch that you don’t make any sudden, accidental movements if you’re on a pattern you’re particularly enjoying.

Once I get past the novelty tilt or shake function, I get into more familiar territory, for me. Pressing the middle button to go through the functions and having a + and – button to choose the speed is wonderful. No grappling between hot, lubed thighs trying to find a little power button on the couples vibrator.

LELO IDA Vibrator review | LELO Sex Toy Reviews

The probe rotation is delicious against the G spot inside me, and he enjoys the rotation against his penis during sex too. The vibrations are a bonus. It all adds up to a very overwhelming and highly intimate experience. The middle to top vibrations feel great against the clit, particularly if you dab on a spot of water based lubricant first.

I’ve heard that some people may be worried about how you fit a sex toy such as the TARA or IDA, or indeed the very popular We Vibe sex toys inside the vagina at the same time as a penis. Well, do not fear. It doesn’t hurt, quite the opposite in fact. We women aren’t made of rigid material, the vagina will stretch to accommodate the nicely proportioned probe on the sex toy as well as your man’s penis, no matter how much of a beast he thinks he’s got.

The LELO IDA Vibrator is also fully waterproof so not only is it all simple to keep hygienically clean, you can also indulge in a very sexy bath together. I would say a shower too but I’d worry that any wrong move and the device could shoot out and hit the ground. Not good!

Summary

In summary, this is the couples toy to buy if you a) love technological and ground breaking sex toys, b) really want to spoil yourself and a partner and c) are bored with everything else on the market.

I prefer the LELO IDA Vibrator for couples play and sex, rather than for use during masturbation. I have better toys which I use on my own, for a more fulfilling solo vaginal penetration and clitoral stimulation experience.

The LELO IDA Vibrator is a luxurious, beautifully made toy, combining top toy technology, rechargeable, waterproof and remotely controlled features and innovative rotation to bring couples together in a way that only LELO knows how.

  1. I read someone’s review they thought it was too small! lol. I guess that’s why we’re all different. I found it perfect when used with a penis inside you too. I mean if you wanted to use it on it’s own, it would be small – just like the We Vibe is small used by a woman on her own. In my opinion it’s made for couples to enjoy together. If a woman wants to enjoy a sex toy on her own there’s the Thrill or a myriad of other devices 🙂
