I really enjoy dressing up and being in sexy underwear. I have quite the nylons collection, so being given the chance to review the Leg Avenue Red Plus Size Sheer Stockings made me jump for joy.

I usually shy away from Leg Avenue as their sizing has always been an issue for me; I am a size 18-20 (depending where shopping). However, seeing these were labelled plus size, I was excited to see how they fit. I do like the look of some of the Leg Avenue items.
The packaging of these stockings is rather plain but I think it makes it look elegant stating their logo and the beautiful script of ‘Leg Avenue’. The packaging is thick cardboard with a fishnet gloss feel on both the front and the back. The front is black and the back in striped with 2 shades of pink both have a heart cut out on the right side to show the stockings inside.
The picture of the Leg Avenue Red Plus Size Sheer Stockings (on both the front and the back) does not really do the stockings justice, as they are very red! You can see through the heart in the bottom right hand corner the deepness of the actual tights, it does lighten on the skin. I do like the fact on the back of the packaging it states how to clean them and to not iron them as they are 100% nylon.
Inside, the stockings are folded neatly and in a plastic covering bag to keep them clean and fresh, I also reuse to the bag to keep the stockings together after use, so the sticky on the plastic bag is re-useable for a short time.
The stockings themselves are a bit hard feeling when fresh out of the packet, they are not as soft as some nylons but they do feel quite thick for 15 denier. This stiffness passed a little as I lightly sprayed them with water and let them dry naturally, so believe with more use and re washing they will become a softer.
These Leg Avenue Red Plus Size Sheer Stockings do look rather small when taking them out of the packet, but, as with most stockings, they will stretch to fit the form. It is harder to judge the sizing when taking them first out the package. The top of the stockings are double thickness for the suspender straps to be attached to and prevent ripping. Checking over the stockings I saw there were no extra heel or toe support, I do prefer stockings with a thicker toe and heel in them otherwise they can wear or rip too easily. If the toe area is not sitting at the toes correctly it can create a little discomfort, I had them on top of the nails so when in shoes it didn’t press too much.
There is also no clear front or back to these stockings so I slipped them on anyway and adjusted the toes as I went along. When slipping on these stockings I was happy with how they stretched easily to fit over my thicker calf muscles, although, after getting over the knee and towards my mid thighs the folded over part to attach suspender straps to became tight. I further struggled to get it sitting comfortably without rolling or pinching, I tried many places to attach the stockings, my best attempt was a thick 6 belt suspender with metal clasps, but still it was tight and quite uncomfortable with the rolling. Most plus size stockings I already own do not do roll like this, seeing as the stockings could go higher up my legs, I am presuming they maybe for taller people not the heavier set as the package may state. Which is a shame as the rest of the stocking seems to fit well with room to spare.
I do love the red colour as it goes over my legs adding a strong naughty sheen to any skin underneath and they do feel strong for 15 denier, but they do not fit around my thighs so I am quite sure these are not for the larger set stocking wearers.
At the price asked for these Leg Avenue Red Plus Size Sheer Stockings they are a good buy for those who are NOT UK plus size, unless as said before the plus size here means taller.
Leg Avenue Red Plus Size Sheer Stockings rating- 5/10. They are well made/strong but do not seem to fit the plus size category it claims to be in.
