Hot Octopuss JETT Review: The Customisable Guybrator

When Hot Octopuss contacted me about reviewing a brand-new penis stim sex toy in their collection, I wondered how on earth they’d better the ATOM cock rings, Pulse Guybrator or Pocket Pulse (read our other Hot Octopuss sex toy reviews). But no, this is a different style of sex toy completely! Introducing the Hot Octopuss JETT, a twin bullet powered cock ring which promises to deliver an orgasmic and customisable combination of treble and bass vibrations.

Hot Octopuss JETT is no ordinary cock ring –unsurprisingly. I mean this is Hot Octopuss we’re talking about here.

Unlike regular cock rings which are designed to be worn at the base of the penis, whether around just the shaft or the shaft and balls, JETT is designed to be worn just under the frenulum. This is the sensitive join of the ‘cock collar’ which is full of nerve-endings, just under the tip of the penis.

It also states it can deliver hands-free orgasms. This isn’t just another universally exciting feature, but one which makes JETT another fantastically accessible sex toy from Hot Octopuss.

The two wired bullets are placed into the spaces made for them in the silicone ring, then the other ends of the wires need to be plugged into the control unit. This wired remote requires 4x AA batteries (not included, but usually easy to find in a standard household), then you’re good to go.

Hot Octopuss JETT isn’t waterproof in all its parts (only the silicone sleeve), and is operable via the wired control only -rather than by remote or tech-tastic Bluetooth and the like. That said, JETT appears to have been manufactured and designed as an alluring and effective sex toy which is priced to please more pockets. The Pulse 3 Duo is priced at £119, for example, whereas JETT costs just £49.99.

Even so, is JETT worth it? I’ll start at the beginning.

Packaging & First Impressions

Outer packaging was discreet as always, and delivery was prompt after our emails. Hot Octopuss have certainly got their packaging style down, and our JETT arrived in the recognisable shiny silver coloured box with a clear image as well as some details and description of use.

I was looking forward to trying out this new style of sex toy – well, ‘helping’ my partner test it out! The image on the front of the box brought up all sorts of powerful connotations; not just treble and bass speakers, but the speed of bullets and the roar of jet engines.

Ahh, JETT… those lines around the logo do seem quite ‘flight insignia’ as well as ‘audio frequency’. Clever.

Inside The Box

Cutting the hygiene seal and opening the box, I withdrew the black plastic moulded insert in which the contents were safely stored.

There was the controller, the two shiny bullets, and the silicone ring/sleeve. Behind the plastic insert I found a storage bag and a fold-out instruction leaflet.

Materials & Specs

The two bullets which power the Hot Octopuss JETT are described as “metallised brushed”, and they feel to me like metallic ABS plastic. The wired controller is also made of plastic, while the sleeve is stretchy and smooth, body-safe silicone.

Each of the bullets measure 2.25 inches in length and have a circumference of 3.25 inches. The controller is 5 inches in length with an attractive and ergonomic curved shape, helping it to look appealing and making it easier to keep hold of. An important factor.

The Hot Octopuss crown and logo are flat and part of the controller’s plastic surface, whereas the two + and – buttons, and the central circular button, are raised and made of smoother surface, metallic ABS plastic. This should make the operation buttons easier to locate without needing to look at it every time.

As I’ve mentioned above, JETT isn’t fully waterproof. It’s a real shame but I believe this contributes to the lower price point. Of course, silicone is non-porous and the sleeve is fully separable from the bullets and controller, so this feature can be fully submerged and washed –just not the wired bullets and controller elements.

Operation & Functions

Hot Octopuss JETT is a “customisable vibrator with treble and bass technology”. What does this really mean? Well, there’s two bullets included for a reason (not just one to rest on each testicle, if you go the versatile route and use JETT as a regular cock ring).

One of the bullets delivers a higher frequency, or treble, vibration, the other has a lower frequency, or bass vibration. Each of the bullets is controlled independently by the two sets of + and – buttons on the controller. Therefore, the user can choose how much treble and bass to enjoy stimulating their frenulum –or wherever/however you choose to enjoy JETT.

Not only is there a range of speed/power available from each bullet with the + and – buttons, there’s also a central button on the controller to change from constant vibration to a vibrating pattern. There are 5 vibrating patterns/pulses to discover and enjoy.

Powering Up

Before you use the Hot Octopuss JETT, you need to insert x4 AA batteries (not included) into the controller, as I’ve mentioned. It’s easy to do this, just slip the back off the controller and slide in the batteries.

Then plug the bullets’ wires into the ports for them at the top of the controller, and make sure the bullets are inserted into the silicone sleeve.

How Does JETT Feel?

As this is a sex toy designed for my partner’s anatomy, it was up to him to test out this exciting new toy and provide his feedback.

After thoroughly testing the Hot Octopuss JETT, he’s absolutely certain about one thing: it’s intense!

The Hot Octopuss JETT slides into place even easier with a drop of lube, helping the silicone material slide comfortably over skin rather than creating unwanted friction. I’d prepped him on the difference between this and other cock ring style sex toys, with regards to where the ring and its bullets should be placed. Under the frenulum, at the tip of the penis, rather than at the base of his shaft and/or around his balls.

With regards to the vibrating settings, he was pleasantly surprised to find them so different to the standard styles of vibration on other sex toys. For example, there was a pattern which provided three pulses of treble vibration followed by a big bass vibration, which was, again, a very intense experience.

At the start my partner automatically increased each bullet’s vibration strength together, in the same increments, until I pointed out that the leaflet advises that it’s not the most effective way to use the Hot Octopuss JETT. Instead, you’re advised to “find your frequency” -and this made a big difference to his experiences.

One bullet he describes as “a normal bullet vibe feeling” while the other is “a really deep rumble”. In fact, he said he was surprised at having to turn down the bass bullet quite a bit in order to maximise his comfort and pleasure –he only needed a touch of the bass element. Instead of whacking both bullets up to full, in order to orgasm quickly (as one might do with other vibrating sex toys –guilty!), you really do have to find how much vibration strength from each bullet is perfect for your particular penis. It’s in this way that the ‘customisable’ element of the Hot Octopuss JETT comes into its own (so to speak!).

I asked him about the possibility of hands-free orgasms, as this is something else Hot Octopuss mention about JETT. He felt it may be easier to discover hands-free orgasms with the bullets on the top of the penis tip, rather than underneath, but would certainly be possible. For him, it was more comfortable and just easier to have them placed as advised: underneath, against his frenulum.

Operating the Hot Octopuss JETT was nice and easy, the controller is simple enough to work out. He found the wires a little fiddly at first –being unused to wired toys- but they weren’t a problem and didn’t get in the way.

Both bullets seemed to turn on at once when pressing either of the + buttons; it was only when I took them out of the silicone cradle that he’d believe they’re operated entirely independently. That silicone does an excellent job of transferring the vibrations all around the sleeve, providing a rich and enveloping sense of stimulation to his penis.

In terms of manufacture he could definitely tell this was a cheaper sex toy than the Pulse Duo, or Atom Plus, for instance. This all made sense when I explained it’s more a sex toy to appeal to all budgets, and help make Hot Octopuss’ products even more accessible across the board. Just things like the fact the bullets are wired, that the toy is battery powered, the bullets are metallicised plastic and that it’s not entirely waterproof.

That said, he found JETT both incredibly powerful and incredibly effective – leading to a fantastic (and easy to reach) orgasm every time. Plus, there really does seem to be an infinite number of vibrating settings!

Clean-Up

After use, the Hot Octopuss JETT bullets needed to be wiped clean as they cannot be submerged. As the silicone holder can be entirely removed and separated from the rest of the toy, it could be washed and rinsed thoroughly.

Summary

Despite lacking a few of the bonus features that the more expensive Hot Octopuss sex toys offer, JETT is still a highly impressive toy for penis-owning orgasm hunters. In addition, I’ve even enjoyed a little play myself; that sleeve doubles as a finger sleeve with which I can enjoy the intense power of one or both bullets during clitoral stimulation. Bonus!
