Fun Factory Ocean Vibrator Review

by Rattigan

I was really looking forward to reviewing the Fun Factory Ocean Vibrator. I support Cara via donations which means occasionally adult product review opportunities come up. I was very excited to see a new type of “rabbit” vibrator pop up on there. I had been thinking about trying a different model and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. This Ocean vibrator is made by Fun Factory, a brand I had heard a lot of positive things about, so it’s fair to say I had high expectations from the beginning.

Cara sent the item discreetly and well-packaged as always. Unfortunately, I could not get the first toy to work despite trying everything I could. Very kindly, Cara informed Fun Factory and they sent a replacement no problem.

I was quite surprised at the size of the Fun Factory Ocean Vibrator. The size of my hand, I wondered if it could really live up to my expectations. The box depicted two coloured photographs of the toy inside, with its name and brand proudly displayed. Unfortunately for me, both toys I received were a ghastly, girly pink (NOT my thing at all). However, beggars can’t be choosers and I simply appreciated the opportunity to try the toy in exchange for an honest review.

The design of the packaging is minimal. You are informed that the Fun Factory Ocean Vibrator is made from body-safe materials (silicone), is waterproof, anal-safe, has six speeds and six patterns and requires two AAA batteries. I haven’t had much luck with battery toys so I will admit, my expectations were getting lower and lower. However, the box had hygiene seals on both ends which is a big plus for me. It provides reassurance the toy is brand new and hasn’t been tampered with.

Oddly, there are two small slits in the cardboard packaging. I cannot work out why they are there. I presume it is merely aesthetic. Nevertheless, I highly recommend you clean the toy thoroughly before using (as you should with all sex toys).

Without droning on too much about the packaging, I would like to point out that the box lists Fun Factory’s ethics, which they call their “manufactured responsibility”. They state they are: pro-employee, pro-environment, have a tiny carbon footprint, prioritise local materials, use recyclable packaging and are made in Germany. All get a big tick from me!

On to the toy. This is a tough one. Putting it bluntly, it just did not live up to expectations, which I will admit were very high. However, I found the Fun Factory Ocean Vibrator pretty much unusable.

On turning the toy on, it feels fairly powerful. After slathering it with lubricant, I gave it a try and… nothing. Nothing from my end anyway. The equivalent of the “bunny ears” did not reach my clitoris at all. Even if it had, I would have felt zero vibrations.

The problem is that the vibrations are all centred around the base of the toy – right next to the battery compartment. They do not vibrate throughout the shaft or the “ears”, which are in fact one protruding nub. Therefore, I did not even feel any vibration internally.

Quite simply, the toy is utterly useless. Due to its size, I could not even attempt to use it as a dildo as it is just too small to get any stimulation from it.

The Fun Factory Ocean Vibrator is attractive to look at due to its “stimulating wave shapes” and unusual design, but ultimately it is a paperweight. It did not provide stimulation in any form and if I had paid for it, I would be extremely disappointed. I am giving it a generous 2/10 purely because it looks pretty, and I appreciate Fun Factory’s ethics.
