Fun Factory G5 Tiger Vibrator review: Fun Factory and I have a weird relationship. I love their designs and their branding, they’re trendy and well marketed – like the Apple G3 of the sex toy world. But DAMN, do they ever love their beefy toys.
I’m much more into a modest shaft, I’m skinny and muscular so I really struggle with anything above average. I reviewed the Fun Factory Bubbles Mini Vibe some time ago and found it way too much, so I was pleasantly surprised by the Fun Factory G5 Tiger Vibrator when I took it out of the box.
Measuring up at 4.5 inches insertable x 5 inches in girth, Tiger balances a below-average length with an above-average thickness. The shaft is ribbed in a way that makes it look like it has the biggest foreskin on Earth, but the almost immature teal and red colour scheme gives it a primary-colour appeal that makes it less crude. I’m a big fan of the colourway, definitely my favourite of those available.
The classic G-spot curve overshoots the mark at the tip (my G-spot is around 3 inches in, with most women finding theirs between 3 and 4 inches deep), which frustratingly means I had to thrust the vibe to make good contact.
This wouldn’t be too much of an issue, albeit the clitoral stimulator (the rabbit-style nub at the base) is woefully short. It took me a fair bit of time to use the full length of the shaft due to the thickness and I found the angle at which I had to hold the vibe very awkward. Maintaining any contact while thrusting was impossible and I ended up reaching for the trusty We-Vibe Tango to help out. The textured shaft is inspired, and the shape is fantastic – just an inch or so too long for combined G-spot and clitoral play.
Other than the troublesome anatomical mismatch, I was generally impressed. 6 speeds and 6 patterns give you plenty to experiment with and you’ll find that the patterns are a God-send if you want to use this vibe without thrusting. The rechargeable battery provides plenty of power, you get a nice, deep rumble from all settings and the vibration intensity is good, although not ground-breaking.
Tiger is incredibly well made using quality 
materials. The silicone is pleasantly squishy but it does feel draggy, needing a lot of lube and unusually for me, reapplication. This raises questions about the porosity and a bacteriostatic lube might not go amiss to ensure cleanliness, especially for anal play.
The Fun Factory G5 Tiger Vibrator also collects dust quicker than I eat cake, but this weird-feel silicone is the a la mode material of the moment so Fun Factory can be forgiven for using it.
The handle deserves a special mention as I still think this is one of the best styles for solo play. The ergonomic shape fits well in the hand, so if you want to manually manipulate the length it’s less of a hassle than with other styles.
My final design shout-out goes to the updated Click ‘N’ Charge magnetic charging system. Previously you had to buy a plug separately but now a USB cable is included in the box, a much better merchandising option for consumers – in my humble opinion. There are also some really cool LEDs that glow while it’s recharging, making me love the look of this vibe even more! In my monochrome bedroom it reminded me of one of the Glow Worm dolls I had as a kid, wrinkly and wormy, but pretty.
In summation, the Fun Factory G5 Tiger Vibrator isn’t going to blow your sexual barn doors off, but it’ll make ’em shake. It isn’t the most powerful and you’ll need a deep-reaching G-spot and low-residing clitoris to really make the most of it. You’ll also need a penchant for a meaty shaft, because those angles and that giant foreskin take some warming to.
You do get good value for money and I’d definitely recommend this vibe as a sexy gift for your partner or as a couple’s treat to spice up foreplay. This won’t be the last time I visit Tiger and I certainly found it to be a great gateway toy for my next review, which was frighteningly even bigger! I think Cara’s trying to ruin me.
