What I Liked

Durex Play Sweet Strawberry Lube Review

This lubricant is of course, flavoured, so it’s great for oral sex. In particular, this lubricant is ideally suited to lesbian sex, where there’s a lot of tongue involved. Or at least there should be, if you’re doing it right. 😉

This Durex Strawberry lubricant is easily washed off after use with soap and water, or even just hot water itself.

The Durex Play Sweet Strawberry Lube also boasts the European CE mark, meaning that it meets the health and safety certifications required in order to be used in and on the body.

It is also compatible with latex products and condoms, so you don’t have to worry if you are planning on using those in your sex session. It is completely sugar free meaning it’s not only fab if you’re on a diet but there’s also no worry of a sugary vagina. No parabens either!

What I Didn’t Like So Much

This lube has (to me) an overly sweet taste, not a natural strawberry flavour. Manufactured yet not too unpleasant. There is an underlying, faintly plastic scent or taste, reminding me of the inside of a plastic pencil case, or a doll’s head.

It says not sticky but there is a definite residue after use on the skin. It’s also not the slipperiest lubricant. Heavier than the standard Play Feel and you can tell the primary purpose is to add taste to flesh, not glide.

Although there’s no sugar, there is glycerine, which in those who are more sensitive than I, could cause some vaginal irritation. I know that many prefer glycerine free lubricants and if that’s the case, the Durex Play range won’t be in your next shopping basket.

Summary

The Durex Play Sweet Strawberry Lube isn’t my favourite flavoured Durex sex lubricant, which was a surprise as I love the Durex Cherry Lube so much. The taste just didn’t live up to my fruity and strawberry expectations and I need a thorough wash after using this lubricant as it’s just too uncomfortable to leave on the skin with the residue.

I will use it again, in small doses – not to add slip and slide but to add a sweet taste for fun during ‘licky liaisons’ with my partner and various lovers.
