How It Feels

First off, I was delighted to see a blue sex toy for a change. There are too many pink and purple offerings in the world, and it was great to get a vibrator in such a refreshing, cheerful shade of aqua, turquoise-y teal blue. It immediately felt like something a bit different, hopefully something special.

As for the material, I was pleased that the Bondara Surge Remote Control Rechargeable Love Egg is covered with silicone, which not only feels great against and within the body but it’s body-safe too – non-toxic, non-porous and phthalates-free. The love egg part is waterproof, but I don’t think the included remote control is – it’s battery powered and doesn’t seem sealed up enough to submerge safely in water. Keep the remote safe and dry.

The Bondara Surge Love Egg offers 10 different vibration settings, all of which are controlled either via the button on the egg itself, or the more likely and easier option, the small wireless remote. Once you’ve switched the love egg on, you can cycle through the patterns using the setting button on the remote. It’s all very simple once you get the hang of it – but there’s a specific way to power it all up.

So, how do you power up and operate? Hold the power button on the egg until it lights up. Then do the same with the remote until that lights up. After that, you’re good to go. Just make sure you’ve removed the little scrap of paper in the remote’s battery compartment beforehand. I also had a slight issue initially getting the remote to connect – if that happens to you, try gently raising the battery connector inside the remote’s battery slot. That sorted it for me.

Charging the egg is easy enough – it uses the included jackpin/USB charging cable. The port is at the base of the egg, between the retrieval loop. After fully charging up, I gave the love egg a quick rinse before use – you never know what fluff or factory residue might be lingering. The retrieval loop is a great addition for easy removal after use, and it’s made of silicone too.

As for how it feels during use? Well, I was pleasantly surprised by how powerful this little love egg is! It really is small but mighty. The vibrations are not high frequency ‘wasp’ buzz, and not as thuddy, bassy and rumbly as a mains powered wand vibe, they’re somewhere in between. Strong and rumbly enough to be felt deliciously deeply when used inside the vagina, and powerful enough on the top constant vibration setting for me to orgasm using it as a clitoral vibrator, as an added bonus.

With remote control love eggs, once of the commonly hoped-for uses is discreet public play. With a lot of remote sex toys, the sound level means they aren’t actually that discreet no matter how busy the public place is. However, the Bondara Surge Remote Control Rechargeable Love Egg is genuinely quiet during use, especially when the vibrations are safely tucked away inside the vagina. I honestly feel safe enough to use it in public with my delightfully wicked husband in charge of the remote when we’re in a crowded place – such as a packed shopping centre or walking through town.

There are a couple of practical considerations for public play though: you need to switch the egg on before insertion, and then the remote. And if the remote gets turned off – accidentally or otherwise – the egg stops too, and you’ll need to turn it on again before the remote can work. Not a product fail, just something to bear in mind for any outdoor adventures.

It’s brilliant for hands-free fun at home – whether by myself or with my husband. Whether you want to sit back with the TV on or make housework a bit more entertaining, this love egg delivers. I even found it powerful enough to use externally, like a clitoral bullet vibe. The surface is smooth but firm, meaning the vibes carry well – both inside the vagina and when used against the clit. Add a splash of water-based lube and you’re all set for a brilliant time.

Texture-wise, there’s a cinched-in curve to the centre of the egg and some ridging around the body. These details add a nice bit of extra stimulation, especially if you’re using it externally. It felt amazing when used over the vulva and clitoral areas.

Cleaning is no hassle either. Since the egg is waterproof, it’s easy to rinse clean in soapy water. As mentioned earlier, don’t submerge the remote in water – a quick wipe-down is fine for that part.

If I had any gripes, they’d be pretty minor. The packaging could definitely do with a bit more polish – it feels very low-budget. There’s no storage pouch included, which is a shame as there are three parts to this product to keep safe, and no instruction leaflet either (which might help with that power-up & operation process instead of having to figure it as you go). The remote feels noticeably cheaper than the egg itself – it’s hard plastic and doesn’t match the quality of the vibrating love egg.

At full price I would have wanted a more luxurious presentation, but it’s currently on offer – so if you’re tempted, I say grab it while it’s discounted. You’ll get a powerful, versatile, body-safe love egg that’s ideal for solo sessions, couple’s play, or even public teasing – if you’re feeling daring enough.

The Bondara Surge Remote Control Rechargeable Love Egg is a refreshingly different take on a classic toy. Its vibrant aqua blue colour and body-safe, ridged silicone coating immediately set it apart, while the powerful vibrations and quiet operation make it ideal for both solo and partnered play. The egg is rechargeable, waterproof, and easy to use, with 10 satisfying settings controlled by a wireless remote. General Info & Specs

The Bondara Surge Egg is one of a trio of Bondara Remote Control Love Eggs, with the others named Blossom and Hidden Gem. Surge, the egg I’m reviewing here today, is blue in colour and features a cinched centre with ridges around its body. Blossom is purple in colour, with a cylindrical body coming to a gentle point at the tip, with waved ridges converging at that tip. Hidden Gem is pink, with a cinched centre and a diamond-pattern texture. Each of these love eggs offers 10 vibrating functions via the wireless remote control.

Each of the silicone covered eggs is body-safe, phthalate-free and not toxic or porous. They are waterproof too – however whether this only applies to the love egg and not the remote control, or the remote control as well, is unclear. I’d strongly advise keeping the remote out of water, just in case. The remote doesn’t feel like it’s waterproof.

Packaging & Unboxing

As usual, postage from Bondara was quick and packaging was discreet – an opaque white jiffy bag, in this case.

Packaging for the Bondara Surge Love Egg itself is minimal and therefore budget-friendly, not adding unnecessarily to the price you pay for the item. It’s easy to get into and then dispose of/recycle. Inside the clear, Bondara-stickered plastic pouch you find the Surge Love Egg, the remote control and the jackpin/USB charging lead.

No instructions are provided with the toy, so you may need to refer to the product page – or this review, of course! There is also no storage bag provided. With both of these not included, the usual price of the Bondara Surge Love Egg feels quite high for what you get. When it’s on special offer, however, it’s worth popping this egg into your basket.

Size & Measurements

The Bondara Surge Love Egg and its remote are the size you’d expect, really. The love egg is a decent size to slip into the vagina with the help of some water-based lube, while the remote control is comfortable in the hand and features a finger loop.

The egg measures 3.25 inches in length (not including the silicone retrieval loop) and 4.25 inches in maximum circumference. Its remote-control measures approximately 1.75 inches across by 2.75 inches top to bottom.

How To Charge Up

It’s nice and easy to charge up the Bondara Surge Love Egg with the included jackpin/USB charging lead. Just push the jackpin into the small port for it, through the silicone dimple at the base of the toy, between the retrieval loop. The other end can be plugged into a USB port of your choice. I like to use the USB port on the side of my laptop in my home office, or the multi-USB to mains plug at the side of my bed. These are extremely useful and I strongly recommend everyone has at least one. You can buy them cheaply from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

The egg blinks with its internal LED while charging, changing to emit a steady glow once fully charged. I can’t find any details on how long it takes to charge from zero, or how long a playtime a full charge provides.

Top tip: I’d advise additionally labelling the charging lead in some way immediately upon unpackaging the product. This means you can easily identify your Bondara Surge Love Egg charging lead when it gets tossed into your drawer or box of charging wires.

I use my trusty DYMO labeller which is available from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk for all my sex toy charging leads – and it has plenty of other uses around the house, too.

For the remote control, ensure you remove the paper tab from the battery compartment before replacing the cover and using with the Bondara Surge Love Egg.

Instructions & How to Operate

No instructions are provided with the Bondara Surge Remote Control Rechargeable Love Egg but thankfully it’s pretty simple to figure out. Once the love egg part is charged up, and you’ve removed the paper protecting the battery compartment, you can get started. Press and hold the power button on the love egg and the toy will light up, showing it’s on. Then press and hold the power button on the remote control, and the control will also light up.

If it isn’t lighting up, ensure there’s a good connection in the battery compartment – I needed to lift the small metal component underneath the battery slightly, then it was connected properly and worked fine.

Use the other button on the remote – the operation/functions button – to discover and scroll through the 10 available vibrating options.

Press and hold the power button on the remote to switch off the love egg. Doing this will completely switch off the remote control and the love egg.
