How It Feels

I’ve enjoyed playing with the Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager, and to cut to the chase, it definitely works for me. As stated earlier, I’m a big fan of wand vibrators, and clitoral stimulation is one of my favourite & most effective forms of erotic indulgence. The CALI Wand manages to be a great compromise between a full-size wand vibrator and a contrastingly small bullet vibrator, with its 6-inch overall length, powerful vibration and versatile usage.

Weighing in at just over 100g, this is a lightweight toy which is comfortable and easy to use. It’s rechargeable, cordless during use, waterproof to that magical IPX7 rating (can withstand being submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes) and has a maximum noise output of just 50dB. Surprisingly quiet. It also offers a staggering amount of vibrating settings; there are 20 to discover.

Made with body-safe silicone material, I have complete peace of mind from an intimate safety and hygiene point of view when I use my Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager. The material is non-porous, non-toxic, phthalate-free and feels velvety-soft. I like to add a little water-based lube to both myself and the head of the toy before use, to avoid any draggy sensation from the material against my clitoris, as this area doesn’t naturally lubricate like the vagina often does.

As usual when I try multi-function vibrators, I gave the pulses and patterns a go but soon came back to settle on the highest constant vibration. Patterns just don’t do it for me with their tickle and tease sensation. I like a good, strong and steady vibration from the head of a vibrator against my clit, that I can either grind against or move away from me as I wish during masturbation until I reach the pleasure point of no return.

I experienced a little frustration when I first played with the Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager – but this was due to user error, not product fault. This is covered later in the review, in the operation and controls section. I noticed the vibration setting returned to where I’d turned the toy off, when I switched it back on, instead of starting at the lowest constant vibration. How annoying, I thought. I have to scroll through loads of settings to get back on the constant modes. When I read the user guide properly, I discovered that you can easily return to the first setting during use, or before switching off the toy, by pressing and holding the middle button for a couple of seconds. The Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager is a fun, easy to use, decently powerful, multi-functional, versatile and high-quality sex toy that I enjoy using as a clitoral vibrator. It’s handy to grab for a quick orgasm, but just as comfortable to slip between my husband and I during foreplay and sex. Size & Measurements

This is a small rather than full-size wand vibrator.

By my measurements, the Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager measures 6 inches in overall length. This is made up of the head measuring 1.75 inches in length, the handle measuring 3.75 inches in length, with the neck the other 0.5 inches. The maximum circumference of the head is 4.75 inches.

Although this sex toy is designed for external use, ie. erogenous zones such as the clitoris, it can also be used vaginally if you wish. Not anally though, as there’s no flared base, and in any case the controls would be unreachable during use.

The CALI Wand is lightweight at just 101g.

How To Charge Up

It’s easy to charge up the Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager using the included jackpin/USB lead. Just push the jackpin end through the small port on the base of the handle, then the other end into a USB port of your choice. I like to use the USB port on the side of my laptop in my home office, or the multi-USB to mains plug at the side of my bed. These are extremely useful, and I strongly recommend everyone has at least one. You can buy them cheaply from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

While charging, a LED behind the operation button blinks white through the toy’s silicone outer. Once it’s fully charged, this changes to emit a steady glow. It takes up to two hours to fully charge from zero, which provides over 60 minutes playtime. The vibrator’s standby is 35 days.

Top tip: I’d advise additionally labelling the charging lead in some way immediately upon unpackaging the product. This means you can easily identify your particular sex toy lead when it gets tossed into your drawer or box of charging leads.

I use my trusty DYMO labeller which is available from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk for all my sex toy charging leads – and it has plenty of other uses around the house, too.

Operation & Controls

There are three buttons on the controls area of the Bed Nerdz CALI Wand Massager. The bottom button powers the toy on or off, by pressing and holding. The top button raises the vibration intensity, while the middle button allows you to scroll through the vibrator’s astounding 20 vibration patterns.

Note that if you turn the vibrator off, then on again, it will begin on whatever setting you were on when you switched it off. This was a little frustrating until I read the user guide properly and found the ‘return to original setting’ function. To activate this, from any vibration setting, just press and hold the middle button for a couple of seconds. I demonstrate this in my product video further up this review. It puts the vibrator back on the lowest, constant speed setting, in a manner which is easy and convenient.
