When I saw that AP had collaborated with one of my favourite sex shops to produce the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney sex toys collection, I knew I just had to get my hands (& other areas) on some. Do the Agent Provocateur sex toys do justice to one of the foremost names in lingerie? Let’s find out.

Lovehoney very kindly agreed to send me three items from the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney sex toys collection: The Salsa Bullet Vibrator, The Jitterbug Clitoral Vibrator and the item I’m reviewing here today, the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney The Rumba Wand Vibrator.
Packaging
My first impressions, from the outer box, were top notch. All the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney sex toys I received were in themed packaging for the range; a blush pink box with black script writing telling you the name of the product on the front, with some more detailed information about it on the back and sides. It seems extremely classy and I couldn’t wait to discover my new AP sex toy within.
What’s In The Box
The box was sealed with a little sticker for hygiene reassurance, and once removed I could open the box to discover the contents. Inside the box I found:
- A gorgeous Agent Provocateur zip-up faux leather case, inside which I found
- The Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney The Rumba Wand Vibrator, along with
- A fold out instruction leaflet, and
- Magnetic/USB charging lead.

Measurements
The Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney The Rumba Wand Vibrator measures 7 inches in overall length, and the head has a circumference of 6.5 inches while the slender neck area has a circumference of 2.75 inches in comparison.
Charging Up
To charge up the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney The Rumba Wand Vibrator, just attach the magnetic end of the included charging lead to the control buttons on the control panel area of the toy (yep, they double as the charging points as well as the control buttons during use). The other end of the lead goes into any USB port you fancy. A full charge takes 2 hours from scratch, which provides up to 45 minutes of continuous play. While charging, an LED blinks red, which changes to emit a steady glow once the vibrator is fully charged.
I like to use the USB ports on my laptop while in the office, or my multi-USB to mains adaptor plug while in the bedroom. These are SO handy and can be picked up easily from online stores (click to browse a selection: UKÂ /Â USA).
Operation
There are two buttons on the control facia of the vibrator, used to charge the toy, operate it and enable/disable the travel lock.
The top button is used to turn the power on and off. Press and hold for 2 seconds and the vibrations will come to life. Same to switch off. When on, press the top button repeatedly to scroll through the 3 speeds (a pink LED glows weak, medium and strongly to indicate your current vibration level). The bottom button can be pressed to scroll through the 7 patterns while on any of the vibration speeds. If you press and hold that bottom button for 2 seconds while on a pattern, it will return you to the constant vibration mode.
To enable the travel lock, press and hold both buttons at the same time for 6 seconds. The vibrator will buzz and a light will flash to indicate the travel lock has been successfully activated. Do the same (hold both buttons for 6 seconds) to deactivate the travel lock.
During Use
I’m so disappointed with this wand vibrator it’s difficult to know how to begin reviewing my experiences with it. In fact I am incredibly disappointed with all the Agent Provocateur sex toys I received to review. That said, I absolutely adore the branded zip-up storage cases.
There was a great opportunity here to create a collection of sex toys which would properly reflect the luxury & quality Agent Provocateur are known for, as well as the vibrator expertise of Lovehoney.
What I actually have, when all is said and done, is a beautiful looking trio of vibrators made with beautiful, silky soft silicone, presented wonderfully with gorgeous storage cases… which are too weak to be effective for me when I turn them on. I nearly actually cried. Talk about high hopes being thoroughly dashed.
I’m not sure who tested the motors in these vibrators, but they must be about 20 times more sensitive than me. Which I suppose isn’t completely beyond the realms of possibility, seeing as I’m a veteran sex toy tester who likes the jackhammer thrills of mains powered wand vibrators and ride-on sex machines like the Sybian et al.
I can’t orgasm with any of my Agent Provocateur vibrators. If I’d bought them I would be sending them back and requesting a refund, especially as they’re not cheap.
The only way I can use the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney The Rumba Wand Vibrator which brings me any pleasure at all, is definitely not in the recommended manner. I lube up the head, insert it vaginally, then use one of my other clitoral vibrators (Love Not War vibe, Zumio, mains wand etc) to bring myself to an intense orgasm. Now that’s fun.
Summary
If you don’t require much power from your vibrators, you might love the Agent Provocateur X Lovehoney The Rumba Wand Vibrator. If you’re looking for a powerful and/or rumbly wand vibrator, I’d strongly argue that this isn’t what you’re after. The Rumba Wand (& other Agent Provocateur sex toys) could do with a completely different motor inside – if not Doxy Wand level, at least the Love Not War vibrator motors, which from my experience is fantastic and orgasmically effective.
