My Favourite Sex Toys: Bedside Drawer ‘Handy Grab’ Collection [Regularly Updated]
In my many sex toy reviews, you may have noticed that I reference my ‘quick grab’ or ‘handy grab’ collection. This is the small selection of sex toys that I just love so much that they’ve made it to permanent residence in my bedside drawer, rather than being rated too mediocre or for some other reason relegated to being put back in the box and into storage in the loft or garage. Today I’d like to share details of my favourite sex toys right now: what exactly is in my current bedside drawer handy grab collection?
This small selection of sex toys is genuinely what I reach for whenever I want an orgasm – whether that’s on my own on a Tuesday afternoon, in the evening during or after a shower, or with my partner during our intimate pleasure sessions. This little collection of vibrators changes over time, usually because I’ve been lucky enough to be sent something so fantastically effective, quiet enough and easy to use that it gets popped straight in the drawer for regular use long after publishing my review. Other times, I sadly have to wave goodbye to a long-time favourite vibrator because its years of faithful orgasmic service has thoroughly worn it out. No happy retirement for broken and fizzled out vibes; they get appropriately disposed of.

Favourite Sexual Stimulation
Although I enjoy using butt plugs from time to time, and I’m not against a vaginal dildo or penetrative vibrator, my favourite type of sexual stimulation is clitoral. Therefore, clit vibrators usually make up the majority or entirety of my bedside drawer handy grab collection. I have an assortment of butt plugs, vaginal vibrators and dildos, but they’re kept in a separate box for those rare occasions I want to use one of them along with a clit vibrator for a multi-stim masturbation & orgasm session.
My Current Sex Toy Faves
For fast orgasmic relief I tend to opt for the Zumio X, or the Love Not War Meile, or the Loving Joy Power Bullet. When I want to take a little more time over things I’ll enjoy the Bathmate bullet, the Tracey Cox Supersex bullet or the Hot Octopuss AMO bullet vibrator. The Lovehoney Pink Droid Wand Vibrator is wonderfully thuddy and powerful, but it’s slightly louder than everything else here so I make sure I’ve got background music on, or just use it when it’s only me (or my husband and I) in the house!
Let’s have a closer look at all of these, my favourite sex toys, below. There’s a little description of each one, a link to my full review elsewhere here at the Cara Sutra sex blog, as well as links to where you can buy your own.
Lovehoney Pink Droid Wand Vibrator
Stim type: External, clitoral
Power: Rechargeable via jackpin/USB port
Material: Silicone-covered
Fully waterproof? Yes
Why I love it: This is a hefty-feeling, chunky vibrator without being too heavy or cumbersome to handle. Despite being the noisiest toy in my quick grab collection, it’s worth it. It’s easy to operate, has various settings – but my favourite, the top constant speed, gets me off quickly every single time.

Zumio X Spirotip Clit Vibe
Stim type: Clitoral
Power: Rechargeable via dock/USB port
Material: ABS plastic (with silicone-covered controls area)
Fully waterproof? Yes, to IP67 (submerge up to 1.7ft/0.5 metre)
Why I love it: The Zumio X is a must-have if you’re serious about intense clitoral stim. Incredible power is concentrated and directed through the small spherical tip, meaning you can place it on (or to the side, usually) of the clitoris for record-breaking orgasms with minimal effort. Various power levels but as usual I just whack it up to full. Surprisingly quiet for the power it emits!

Lovehoney X Love Not War Meile
Stim type: External/clitoral
Power: Rechargeable via plug-in cable/USB port
Material: ABS plastic handle, silicone-covered body
Fully waterproof? Yes, to IP67 (submerge up to 1.7ft/0.5 metre)
Why I love it: My Meile is similar, in theory, to the Zumio X -albeit with a larger spherical tip and a slightly heavier handle which gives it extra ‘heft’. The silicone-covered body and head means it works its breathtaking power over my vulva and clitoris beautifully with the aid of some water-based lube. Another surprisingly quiet vibrator even on full speed, which delivers an intense clitoral orgasm every time.

Hot Octopuss AMO Bullet Vibrator
Stim type: External/clitoral
Power: Rechargeable via plug-in cable/USB port
Material: ABS plastic handle, silicone-covered body
Fully waterproof? Yes
Why I love it: It took me a while to learn to love the Hot Octopuss AMO, as it isn’t an instant jackhammer-thrills style clitoral vibe like some of my other top faves. The AMO is surprisingly lightweight, and quiet even on the highest speed setting. I have fallen in love with its elegant design along with the cleverly pointed tip which delivers precise stimulation where I need it most.

Tracey Cox Supersex Bullet Vibrator
Stim type: External/clitoral
Power: Battery, 1x AAA (get cheap batteries here: United States / United Kingdom)
Material: ABS plastic
Fully waterproof? Yes
Why I love it: The Tracey Cox Supersex bullet is the only battery-powered sex toy currently in my bedside drawer ‘quick grab’ collection. It would be easy to underestimate or pass over this vibrator due to the low price and battery power, but don’t be fooled. This cheap and cheerful bestselling bullet vibe from Tracey Cox and Lovehoney might only offer one speed, but luckily (for me at least) it’s a speed which brings me to a heady clitoral orgasm time and time again. I’ve been loving the Tracey Cox Supersex bullet for 13+ years now!

Loving Joy Power Bullet
Stim type: External/clitoral
Power: Rechargeable via dock/USB port
Material: Velvet-cote ABS plastic
Fully waterproof? Yes
Why I love it: Despite its terrible charging dock style, which requires careful balance and perhaps a prayer or two to some Higher Power in order to get it in exactly the right position, the LJ Power Bullet is absolutely worth it once fully charged. The rigid body delivers those extremely powerful vibrations straight to the clitoris and the vibration type is surprisingly bassy/thuddy rather than treble/buzzy.
I’m hoping the newer style of LJ rechargeable bullet vibe has an integral charging port and maintains the intense power aspect – hopefully I’ll get my mitts on one in the near future, then I can let you know!

My Loving Joy Power Bullet review
Bathmate Bullet Vibrator
Stim type: External/clitoral
Power: Rechargeable via plug-in cable/USB port
Material: Velvet-cote ABS plastic
Fully waterproof? Yes, to IPX7 (submersible in up to 1m of water for 30 mins)
Why I love it: It’s stubby, it’s chunky, it’s buzzy. It just works. The smallest toy in my current bedside drawer collection isn’t the cheapest bullet vibrator out there, but there’s no false economy in play -it delivers. I love that the Bathmate bullet is small enough to be palmed when transporting it discreetly to the loo for a quickie, and takes up hardly any room in a handbag or overnight bag as an orgasmic companion on travels.
