TENGA-Vi-Bo-Finger-Vibe-1

This finger ring type vibrator was sent to me in the last ‘box of tricks’ to test and review for Simply Pleasure. They’re a friendly bunch of sex toy lovers, so pop over and check out their wicked wares.

This vibrator is one of a new line of Tenga toys. It’s called the TENGA Vi-Bo Finger Orb and it’s pretty simple to figure out. It was refreshing not to have to charge up a sex toy for a change, and the fact that it has one speed somewhat appealed – not least because it made this review easier to write. I’m a busy lady, what can I say.

If the Vi-Bo had worked for me, I would no doubt be wishing that it had more bells and whistles such as at least 12 functions and rechargeable feature. As it stands, the Vi-Bo didn’t impress me. At least, not where it counted. It doesn’t make me orgasm. (In case you needed further clarification.)

I was so excited opening the packet. A new type of toy from TENGA, and for women! The original range of TENGA sex toys were all for men. Flip Holes and Onacups gave men an abstract, sexuality free, reusable or disposable masturbator made by what has become a renowned and trusted manufacturer. Then came the iroha range for women, a soft feel line of vibrators which some (myself included) have likened to vibrating marshmallows. These toys seemed to divide opinion; some women love them and others found they didn’t quite bring them to climax. Others seemed to actively dislike them for one reason or another. I love my little mallow man (the TENGA iroha Yuki vibrator, reviewed here). I have the two new iroha vibrators, Mikazuki and Minamo in the pipeline (ahem) to be reviewed in the coming (stop it) weeks.

As you’ll all no doubt know by now, I’m a power Queen when it comes to my sex toys. I love my Doxy Wand which is mains powered, jack hammer thuddy vibrations amazingness. The iGino One is my second top toy which delivers sheer intense vibrations – too intense for many. Therefore the fact that the Vi-Bo didn’t work for me isn’t a guarantee that it won’t work for you; however I can only report on how I feel based on my experiences.

The design of the Vi-Bo appealed as it’s so different to other types of vibes. It’s spherical not slender and cylindrical, and the finger loop is stretchy. It’s not pink or purple (sex toy bloggers: rejoice!). It’s fully waterproof. There’s a big easy push power button that’s unmissable and looking at it made me feel so happy I had to do this.

Because hey, there’s not been enough drama about faces on sex toys.

The first sign that this might not make it to my quick grab collection of toys was when I turned out the inner plastic ball from the outer elastomer sleeve which has the finger loop on and opened the battery compartment. Batteries are included – yay! It takes watch batteries – nooooo. Ugh. Well, I guess it’s to be expected from a small spherical vibrator really. 3 x LR44.

That’s the other thing – elastomer? Not silicone? This sheath is more than likely porous which isn’t great if you want to be certain of an absolutely hygienic toy even after repeated uses/washing. It’s probably saved TENGA money in manufacture but cost them in the quality department. Next time, silicone please!

Perhaps the speed would be scintillatingly superb.

But no, whether I use water based lube or don’t use any lube at all, I can’t quite reach orgasm with this vibrator. It feels lovely, not too annoying like some ‘tinny’ or high frequency vibrators, but not lovely enough. The elastomer sheath perhaps ensures that the vibrations are smoother and evenly distributed through a larger patch of the surface than if it were without. No matter how I try to use this vibrator (direct clitoral, sides, between labia, teasing, quickie-route, taking my time) I just can’t quite clinch the deal.

The speed isn’t dramatic and intense enough for me and I am afraid to keep using it for over the hour or so it may take, in case the batteries totally burn out or I fall asleep first.

Using it with my partner might have been ok if it were a toy I could eventually climax with clitorally during sex, but as it is we were just playing with an elastomer sheathed ball which felt quite small, didn’t vibrate powerfully enough for me and the material of which didn’t work particularly well with male genitalia (quite grippy elastomer – as opposed to a velvety or silky smooth silicone – and pubic hairs don’t mix well).

In summary (as you’ve probably guessed) the TENGA Vi-Bo didn’t work for me but if you fancy giving it a go or it sounds like your kinda thing then you can buy it here at Simply Pleasure for just £12.95. it’s pretty cheap and is a funky alternative to the usual bullet vibrator style and shape of sex toy.
