When this item first arrived, I could tell the quality straight away from the packaging. Coming in a sturdy, magnetic box with a mini instruction booklet and the charging cable, overlaid with a sleeve showing a photo of the product, there was certainly no scrimpage here. I have also tried out the Rabbit Company The G-Spot Rabbit Vibrator and the packaging for both of these toys in question is very similar indeed. The box could definitely be used for storage if you are not too bothered about it saying “The Rabbit Company” on the front rather clearly.
Now, down to the product. The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator is an innovatively-shaped, bright pink, silicone vibrator. It measures just under 6 inches long and is very lightweight. The silicone is gorgeous, super soft and smooth, with not a flaw in sight on it. I have zero doubts of the high quality of this company’s toys. Also, this is super cute to look at! In-keeping with the company’s name, this is indeed a rabbit vibrator, but not as we generally imagine it to be. This instead is just the ears part re-imagined to be a toy in itself. This has resulted in a vibrator with three main parts: ears, nose and swirl-textured shaft.
Before I got to test how each of these parts felt, I had to charge The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator up. It charges via a pin plug, so you insert the pin into the base of the toy and then plug the USB end into either your computer or a plug which takes a USB. A really handy feature for charging is that whilst charging, a light flashes in the middle of the vibrator and then once it is fully charged, the light remains constant, letting you know when it is finished. Charging is super easy and it lasts for a long time – I have only charged this toy ONCE since owning it and have not had to yet do it again, which is an impressive battery life!
Once charged, I thought I’d have a flick through the settings before putting The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator on my nether regions. This has a huge set of speeds. They are all single speed, so no patterns here (which is probably not much of a shame for most people in my experience!), but there is 10 of them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another toy that has a range of TEN different single speeds. You click it on by pressing the + button on the shaft (there are only two buttons, + and – ) and it turns on on the 5th speed. From here, you can press up and down the speeds using the two buttons. When you wish to turn it off, you hold down the – button and it goes down the speeds non-silently and then turns off, which takes approximately three seconds (so this isn’t a toy that will instantaneously turn off if you need it to be hidden quickly, just a thought).
I am shocked how powerful these speeds are to say how many there are. Having 10 speeds, you could afford to have a couple of filler speeds at the beginning (enough vibrators have these filler speeds as the actual speeds!), but even the lowest speed is powerful. Around speed 6 I actually start finding The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator hard to hold, because the whole toy, including the shaft, vibrates at this level, so it starts making my hand feel a little weird and numb and cringey. Okay, so the vibrations are also maybe slightly on the buzzy end of the spectrum, especially once you start creeping up towards the highest levels, but I still feel like these are impressive and worth the price that this retails for.
Unfortunately, whilst the vibrations I rate highly, the shape of The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator is not my favourite. Don’t get me wrong, I love the innovation going on here and I’m sure for other women there is a definite possibility of it working great for them, I just prefer the more classic shapes for my anatomy. As I said earlier, this toy basically can be broken down into three parts: ears, nose and shaft.
The ears are much larger than on a standard rabbit vibrator and more flexible than any others I’ve used. In theory, this means they should have more chance of hugging your clitoris, since there’s more surface area to surround it, but my body just isn’t into that type of stimulation it seems. I don’t think the material is sturdy enough and holds my clitoris strongly enough, plus I am rather tiny, so with the larger ears on me, I think I actually lose some pinpoint stimulation. I think this would be better suited to women with larger clitorises or women who want broader stimulation, like if you have a very sensitive clitoris which makes it too much if contacted directly.
The nose is the best area for me, personally. I am not actually sure it is intended to be an area of use, I feel like it might just be there to give The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator a more rabbit-like appearance, but oh well, sometimes us orgasm-hunters have to be creative! It is just a hard softly-curved ridge which sticks up from the surface and I find it gives good clitoral contact and allows the vibrations to travel through to my body in a more meaningful way. This doesn’t give me the most mind-blowing orgasms, and I tend to need external stimulation in the way of porn to get off with it, but it does work, but it would not be my first choice of route to orgasm.
Lastly, the shaft. I am slightly confused as to the purpose of everything on the shaft. By that, I mean that it has a swirly texture that looks like it was designed to give pleasure, possibly of the insertable variety. However, the buttons are also located on the shaft, though they do not stick up from the shaft or disrupt its texture in any way. I did try it inserted, but it didn’t do a great deal, due to the small size (the swirled shaft is around 3 inches and not very girthy), plus I felt like I didn’t really have anything to hold onto outside my body, since the shaft is normally the handle! I guess I’m saying I wouldn’t recommend buying this if you were thinking you could multi-task in regards to the shaft bit, because it just didn’t really work.
The Rabbit Company Rabbit Ears Vibrator is a product that although it isn’t my favourite I’ve ever tried and I’m not giving it an absolutely stellar score, to call it disappointing I feel is unfair. A lot of the time with these more out-there shapes and designs, it can be hit and miss, and despite it not being ideal for myself in terms of the shape and dimensions, I cannot fault the vibration level and awesome quality The Rabbit Company have presented with this offering.
