System JO is a brand better known for its wide array of lubricants, gels and oils, but here they have expanded their repertoire and added this very intriguingly-named lip gloss into the mix. System JO For Women Kiss Buzz Vibrating Lip Gloss. When you go to the System JO website, there is not much of a description supplied for this particular product, so I didn’t know entirely what to expect.

The lip gloss comes in a simple cardboard holder with all the various advertising slogans and ingredients list on. Unless you desperately want to retain the ingredients list, you can bin this holder. The tube itself is a twist-up with a slanted plastic applicator, with a hole in, that deposits the gloss. It is idiot-proof to use and just looks like your average lip gloss.
On my lips, it is a very nice lip gloss in general: non-sticky, slightly moisturising and with a subtle chocolate scent. It looks a bit cloudy in the tube, but it applies clear and shiny on the lips. I noticed a little hint of taste and scent reminiscent of cinnamon – the ingredients list uses a lot of complicated words, but I highly suspect there are traces of cinnamon in there, which probably contribute to the “vibrating” aspect.
99% of people will buy this due to the “vibrating” claims by System JO. Honestly, I can’t decide whether it is worth it or not. There is indeed a slight vibration on the lips. It is quite weird initially, but not unpleasant. I think it is a similar sensation to other non-adult companies’ “tingling” lip glosses, although some other companies use menthol to gain this tingle, which System JO claims not to. You can feel the tingle more with your lips open, although if you rub your lips often, it will absorb in and you will feel the tingle less. The more gloss applied, the stronger the tingle.
I tested this whilst kissing my partner and it was a bit of a dud. You couldn’t feel it whilst kissing (maybe slightly when we pulled away for a few seconds at the beginning), but the claims of “electrifying sensations when you lock lips with your lover” are frankly, in my opinion, a bit of a lie. It says on the tube that for best results, apply to wet lips, but I couldn’t any difference between wet or dry. It does give a stronger buzz on bare lips, as opposed to over the top of lipstick etc.
From a value perspective, I wouldn’t use this an everyday lipgloss. You need to apply a reasonably generous amount to your lips to feel the full effects, but such is the small amount you receive in the tube, I have used half the tube up in just 4 applications. I do really like this lip gloss and think it is a nice addition to my make-up collection, but it contributes nothing in terms of my sex life and I personally believe that some of the claims associated with it are a little stretched.
