In the final sex toy tester round of 2018, I was lucky enough to be selected to review two Rocks Off products, the Rocks Off Aura Clitoral Vibrator and the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator.

The packaging for the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator is very cute, simple black background with an elegant pattern of pink roses on the sides, the front also features a rose design around the Touch of Velvet branding, it is not immediately obvious that this is a Rocks Off product as the front of the packaging only features a small image of the Rocks Off logo. The reverse of the packaging gives all of the product information:

- 100% waterproof
- Body Safe
- Battery Operated (Batteries included)
While it doesn’t give any care instructions, it does list a website to go to to find the care instructions.
More thorough instructions are inside the packaging, not in the form of a leaflet, but printed on the back of a card insert, this would be tricky to find if it weren’t for the little hint at the bottom of the back of the outer packaging.
The Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator can be seen in the packaging due to the plastic clam casing so while very pretty, the packaging is not discreet.
Removing the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator from the packaging the first thing I noticed is that the plastic bullet vibrator is ever so slightly textured, think brushed metal effect rather than smooth. It is rose pink in colour with a purple shiny base, I would have preferred the base to be shiny pink to match the bullet, the purple colour clashes and almost looks like it belongs to a different vibrator.
The batteries are located in the base of the bullet and are accessible by twisting the shiny purple section, the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator does come with a AAA battery but has a small card disc to prevent the vibrator turning on whilst in the packaging, simply remove the disc, replace the end of the bullet and you are all set to start.
The Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Vibrator is around 2.5” in length, because of this I wouldn’t recommend using it internally, it could easily slip out of grasp and while it couldn’t get lost in a vagina (vaginas are typically like a cul-de-sac rather than a never-ending tunnel), it could still be a bit awkward to remove should it go off on a solo journey.
The Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Vibrator has a single operating button on the base of the vibrator, press and hold for it to turn on and press once to change the function. To move through the settings, simply press the operation button and the vibrations will change.
As the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet is single button operating, there’s no backsies, so if you miss the setting you wanted you will have to press through the settings until you find the one you wanted, this can be a little tedious but considering the compact size of the Touch of Velvet, I can totally understand why Rocks Off chose to use a single button operating system.
As with the Rocks Off Aura 10 Function Clitoral Vibrator, the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator has 10 settings which includes 3 steady vibrations and 7 pattern settings. The pattern settings are exactly the same as the Rocks Off Aura; dots, dashes and pulses of varying intensities and speeds. I was a little disappointed that the settings were the same as the other Rocks Off products, and while the outer shapes are very different in looks, the main purpose – clitoral stimulation – remains the same, so if you already have one or the other, I wouldn’t see a reason for buying the other design product.
Orgasm wise- yes, I was able to reach orgasm, personally I prefer the steady vibration which are deep and rumbly over the patterns which in some cases can be quite buzzy rather than rumbly.
The Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator retails at £15.99 and comes in 3 colourways, the rose pink which I have, lilac or an emerald green, the emerald green does look pretty, if I was to choose a colour I would probably opt for the green as a lot of my toys are pink or purple.
Cleaning the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac toy was pretty simple. A quick wipe over with a cleaning wipe and it was ready to be stored for the next use. There is no storage pouch with the Touch of Velvet but the plastic clam shell casing from the packaging is pretty robust so I have used that to store the bullet vibrator.
While I did like the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator, the mismatched colourway did make my obsession over ‘matchy matchy’ twitch a little. Plus, the vibration patterns being the same as other Rocks Off clitoral stimulators and the lack of storage pouch did make me question the retail price. There are other similar bullet vibrators on the market which retail for under £10.
If you are new to bullet vibrators, the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator would be a good place to start. However, if you already own another bullet style vibrator from Rock Off, you are likely to be a little disappointed in the Touch of Velvet.
Its an 8/10 from me this time, had I not received the Rocks Off Aura Clitoral Vibrator to review I may have scored the Rocks Off Touch of Velvet Lilac Bullet Vibrator slightly higher, but if I were forced to choose between one or the other, I would splash the extra £4 and opt for the Rocks Off Aura Clitoral Vibrator instead.
