Lovehoney G-Love Vibe Review

As part of my ongoing cheap sex toys challenge, Lovehoney kindly sent me one of their G Spot vibrators to put to the Cara Sutra test. The Lovehoney G-Love Vibe is a G-spot pocket rocket vibrator and comes in no frills own brand packaging. This is a foil type, tear top packet with clear details and instructions about the vibrator as well as the Lovehoney logo.

The Lovehoney G-Love Vibe is baby pink in colour (always with the pink sex toys!) and has the Lovehoney heart logo on the side in red.

There are markings to indicate how you twist the bottom half of the Lovehoney G-Spot Pocket Rocket Vibrator in order to turn the vibe on, off or to open and reveal the battery compartment.

Battery-powered

This Lovehoney G-Love Vibe requires one AA battery in order to operate. It doesn’t normally come with batteries but a) Lovehoney kindly sent me a complimentary four pack and b) AA batteries should already be in your Sex Toy Power Stash. I’m thankful it doesn’t take those awful watch batteries!

Twist to open and insert the battery. Line up the arrow to twist the base back into the right position again and you’re good to go.

Design

The Lovehoney G-Spot Pocket Rocket Vibrator, or G-Love as it’s rather affectionately called, is quite chunky in size yet short. This gives it the ‘mini’ attribute but makes it quite easy to use and girthy when inserted vaginally.

The tip of the Lovehoney G-Spot Pocket Rocket Vibrator has a defined angle which in theory ensures that the vibrations stimulate the G-spot inside the woman’s vagina. Along with what are described as ‘powerful vibrations’, this angle is meant to help tip the woman over the edge to an easily achieved orgasm.

Pros

  • Low price
  • Eco-friendly packaging
  • Nicely presented
  • Chunky vibrator
  • Easy to use
  • Takes a decent size, easily obtainable battery

Cons

  • Cheap manufacture
  • Pink colour
  • Weak vibrations
  • Not waterproof

Verdict: Fail

Despite the Lovehoney G-Love Vibe being described as ‘powerful’, I found it to be severely lacking in this department. Also, as a £4.99 sex toy, the manufacture quality is understandably quite low. You do however, get a vibrator which won’t instantly fall apart. Just don’t drop it from a great height onto tiles, or submerge it in water – this vibe isn’t waterproof.

At first I didn’t realise the importance of lining up the arrow on the bottom half of the Lovehoney G-Spot Pocket Rocket Vibrator with the dot on the upper half, in order to close it properly. What can I say, I’m obviously a sexually frustrated idiot. After trying to shove the two halves back together for an embarrassing period of time, without success, it finally clicked. Literally.

The logo embellishment is a cute touch as well as clever marketing – leaving this vibe lying around also keeps Lovehoney in your mind.

Clean-Up

After use you’re better off spraying the Lovehoney G-Spot Pocket Rocket Vibrator carefully with sex toy cleaner then wiping it down after a minute with a wet wipe, than running it under a tap. There is no waterproof element of this sex toy and water could get between the two halves of the toy and enter the battery compartment and motor area, leading to probably irreparable damage.

How It Feels

While I was using this Lovehoney G-Love Vibe I really tried to get excited, but the weak vibrations made it impossible to get any further than ‘mildly interested.’ A couple of steps taken on the long female path to orgasm but then got lost along the way. The angled head is nice, but the vibrations are felt strongest in the neck or collar of this vibe, which is most likely where the motor is. They are felt in the rounded tip too, but not as much. The vibrations are about 40% less than an RO-80 bullet vibe in my opinion, if you’d like a comparison that most toy users will be able to relate to. It just wasn’t enough for me to get my rocks off (heh) to, even if I used the tip externally on my clit.

This makes for another fail! Will there ever be a £5 or less sex toy which sees the dawn of a new, budget friendly orgasm? I truly hope so. Watch out for more June Challenge reviews soon.
