Lovehoney Enjoy Water Based Lube Review

I wanted to get a bottle of lube that was affordable and overcomes some of the things I dislike about other more popular brands I’ve tried, so I decided to give the Lovehoney Enjoy Water Based Lube a go after seeing how highly rated it is on the Lovehoney website.

Like other Lovehoney lubricants, there’s no fancy labelling. The Lovehoney Enjoy Water Based Lube is almost clinical in appearance and clearly states what it is, perfect for camouflaging it on my dresser! One thing I really appreciate about Lovehoney is that they clearly list the ingredients on their website, which is great for checking sensitivities. The product page also lists if it’s safe for use with condoms, suitable for vegans, and what toys it can be used with. This product is free from glycerine and paraben, which is important to me. Simple things like this are actually really important as it can be helpful for those who have sensitivities to certain chemicals, are worried about using certain products, or simply want to be sure they’ve got the right lubricant for them – and we know how varied the lube world can be!
You get 100mls of lube in a white bottle equipped with a pump nozzle. The pump nozzle is straightforward and easy to use, although I do wish it had some form of lock mechanism – I can see myself accidentally pumping out some amount if I leave it lying on the bed during play. Each pump of the Lovehoney Enjoy Water Based Lube bottle produces, to me, just the right amount of lube so that I do not have to give it loads of pumps each time, or worry about having too much.
Since it’s a water-based lube, it is very versatile and can safely be used with all kinds of condom or sex toy material. The lube itself is not too runny or too thick, just the right consistency. Perhaps subjectively slightly runnier than another popular brand, but I did not mind it. The Lovehoney Enjoy Water Based Lube was also really slick and smooth to the touch. During play (which lasts at least an hour for me, usually more), I find that I need to reapply, but not to unreasonable amounts. As a water-based lube, it lasts for a decent amount of time. It is odourless and has a very mild bitter taste, but I’d be alright using this for oral as the taste dissipates during use. There is no sticky residue once it dries up, leaves no stains on fabric, and is very easy to clean with water. I had no reactions from this, but bear in mind that how your body reacts to certain chemicals can be different to other people.
All in all, it’s a pretty good bottle of lube, and you get quite a lot for what you pay. If like me, you’d prefer not having to worry about what lube is suitable with what materials, I’d suggest getting this as it’s water-based. The Lovehoney Enjoy Water Based Lube doesn’t contain ingredients to worry about or that might give you yeast infections if used vaginally. Would recommend!
