I jumped at the opportunity to review the Cock Candy Vanilla Flavoured Lube from MEO for the Cara Sutra sex blog. I am always curious about flavoured gels. I like to know if they make any difference to myself or my partner during oral sex.

Meo are a company based in Germany. Their Cock Candy gel is available in a variety of flavours. Mine was vanilla (although I’m not vanilla myself). The Cock Candy Vanilla Flavoured Lube retails at just under 7€ via their website.
Now, down to business. I was disappointed to discover on reading the bottle that the gel doesn’t actually double up as a lube. That’s usually a big minus in my books. Nevertheless, the bottle was attractively designed and came complete with instructions and information about the gel, such as ingredients and stating it’s dermatologically tested. It also declares that ‘your partner will squiver in ecstasy while you enjoy that lovely Cock Candy flavour’.
Well, my partner’s squivering wasn’t due to the Cock Candy I can tell you that. The gel doesn’t enhance anything, it is pure flavour and a bad one at that. Therefore I found the whole sentence misleading. But the taste was the worst part. It was so sickly sweet that I very nearly couldn’t stand it. It was so sweet that it almost became not-vanilla flavoured.
The consistency is thick and very sticky, leaving you feeling uncomfortable and desperate to wash it off. We were grateful it was a flip cap bottle as I dread to think how unpleasantly messy it could have been if it was a screw lid.
I was thoroughly disappointed with the Cock Candy Vanilla Flavoured Lube. It looked promising and presented itself well, but it tasted awful and left you wanting to abandon fun and scrub yourself clean. I’m giving it a 1/10 purely because it was aesthetically pleasing. We certainly won’t be using it again.
