I’m a great lover of hitty things, owning floggers, paddles and crops, so when I saw the Bondage Boutique Advanced Split Leather Paddle up for review I jumped at the chance! It’s widely marketed as an advanced toy, and I would definitely agree with this.
The Bondage Boutique Advanced Split Leather Paddle arrives simply in a cellophane bag with just a card tag attached to its handle. In my opinion this is all that is needed. Minimal packaging = minimal waste. The paddle is just over 17 inches in length and is a slight Y shape, meaning you get two spanks with each use! It feels really sturdy and well made, with flawless stitching and a smooth matte black leather finish. The handle has a wrist loop attached which doubles up as a convenient storage method, simply hang the paddle wherever you like, no storage bags or boxes needed.
When I first held the Bondage Boutique Advanced Split Leather Paddle, the first thing I noticed was that due to it having a wide, flat handle this became uncomfortable after a while. I prefer a rounder handle, which would give better grip and be easier to hold and swing. Apart from that slight issue the paddle felt great but I found myself wondering why it was for advanced users, as there was nothing to indicate that it would cause more pain than a regular paddle.
The first time I used the paddle I soon found out that it does hurt, a lot! I started off being spanked gently on my bottom and the paddle felt no different to any other. Once the hits got harder I soon felt the benefit of the split paddle! A sharp sting was delivered that made me laugh and tense up more than I ever have before. Repeated spanks left me giggling even more and revelling in the delightful stinging sensation. The pain lasts longer than a regular paddle spanking, and immediately left red marks. Of course every spanking left two red imprints, so after a session my bottom was full of glorious red marks! I found this left my bottom feeling tender, but more sensitive to touch afterwards which was a great sensation when it was gently massaged and teased with a feather.
The one thing I really noticed with the Bondage Boutique Advanced Split Leather Paddle is the amount of anticipation it causes for both parties. Being blindfolded, restrained and knowing that a spanking is coming soon makes me feel amazing! It really gets the blood flowing and is a great way to get warmed up. Being on the other end feels just as good knowing how good the pain is, and getting to control just how much pain is inflicted is a great turn on.
I would recommend this to anyone who has used spanking paddles before and is looking for something to up the ante a bit. It’s great if you love a good sting, but prefer a wider surface area than that of a crop or a cane. I wouldn’t advise it for beginners as it can cause significant harm if used on the wrong part of the body (eg the kidney area) and easily leaves bruises on sensitive skin. For those like myself who love this kind of play I would say go for it! The Bondage Boutique Advanced Split Leather Paddle is great value for money and easily a 9/10!
