I have craved a wand ever since I read Cara’s review and tweets about the original Doxy Wand. The March Pleasure Panel round fell on my birthday this year so while the birthday fairy did not deliver a Doxy in my gift bag, the dildo fairy that is Cara did send me the BMS Factory PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator instead. The delivery arrived so quickly I was still stuffing my chops with birthday cake!

The PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator is packaged in a sleek white box with a clear panel in the front which proudly displays the mint green wand, its Swarovski crystal dazzling through the cellophane.

The back of the box details some of the features of the wand:

• Water Resistant

The product bio tells me the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator is a “… luxurious wand you’ll want to take to bed night after night…” Oh I do hope it lives up to it’s bio.

Opening the hygiene sealed box, the wand is nestled securely in a cushioned mould, a simple ribbon helped remove the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator without damaging my nails. A small cardboard flap kept a storage bag containing a charging wire and a cleaning brush secure, while a simple one sheet instruction leaflet informed me of the operating instructions, cleaning directions and safety precautions.

The PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator arrived with some charge but to ensure my first testing session went well, I decided to give it a full charge while I read the instructions and admired its beauty. To charge the wand simply remove the mint green silicone stopper on the base (be careful as you remove the stopper as it is not attached to the wand) and insert the end of the supplied USB charging cable. No plug is supplied so you will need to either charge via a USB port on a gadget or find a USB compatible plug, luckily I have a few spare USB plugs lying around the bedroom so in a few moments a blinking blue light was flashing on the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator which reassured me that all was well on the charging front. It takes around 90 minutes to fully charge the wand and this charge allows for around 90 minutes of play time.

While the wand was charging I found the product details on the included information leaflet. The Pillow Talk Wand Massager has a Lithium 600mAh battery, a vibrating frequency of 7500 RPM, weights 180g and is made from Silicone with ABS parts (these parts are the silver tip on the base and the silver band around the head of the wand).

The safety precautions advise that the wand is not to be submerged in water – it is water-resistant not water-proof, should be cleaned with a damp cloth or toy cleaner and not put in the dishwasher and should be used with water-based lubricants as it is well known that some silicone-based lubricants can damage silicone toys.

Aesthetically the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator is gorgeous, the mint green colour is such a refreshing change from the usual pink or purple toys on the market. The silicone head of the wand has a ribbed silver band decoration which under normal circumstances would make me query the clean up but as the contents of the box included a cleaning brush I am not too worried. The handle of the wand while smooth at the front, has a quilt effect grooved on the back and sides to help with holding the device in place, these grooves may take a little time to clean up – the little brush is going to have its work cut out! The clear Swarovski crystal glimmers in the light and adds a girlie touch to the wand.

The silicone is very smooth but does attract some dust, not to worry the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator includes a white satin drawstring storage pouch.

Operating the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator is easy. Simply press and hold the Swarovski crystal and the vibrations start, hold the crystal down and the vibration speed increases and press it once to turn it off. To activate the travel lock, the crystal should be held down for 3 seconds.

The initial charge took around an hour, as I mentioned earlier it did arrive with some charge so it may take the full 90 minutes to charge next time I plug it in. I knew the charge had completed as the blue light had stopped flashing and was a solid light.

A quick slick of water-based lubricant and I was ready to put the bio claims to the test, would the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator become my new bed partner or would it be relegated to my toy box in favour of my current favourite, the Adrien Lastic Caress? Let’s put it to the test…

A gentle press of the pretty crystal and the vibrations sprang to light, rumbling away like a small avalanche, the rumbling claims on the packaging are certainly true, not a buzz to be heard. The first thing to note is that the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator is very quiet, on initial start up it barely makes a noise and at full speed it is still much quieter than many of my other vibrating toys, this is a huge win.

On the lowest setting the wand barely registered with my overly fussy clitoris, however, as I held down the crystal the rumbling intensified as did the tinglings in my body. Full speed is a bit too much for me but after several sessions – in the name of research obviously 😉 I found that I much preferred the wand at a speed somewhere between half way and max, the one button operation meant that if I went a bit far with the speed I had to turn it off and start again but the one press off and the press and hold increasing feature meant that this was a quick process.

What I will say is that the crystal operating button is very flat and can be tricky to locate without looking, maybe a slightly more rounded crystal would work better as an operating button as I did have to peek under the sheets more than once to find the button, this did give me a chance to admire the pretty flickering light on the wand but was a bit of an inconvenience in the heat of the moment.

 

Cleaning up took a little longer than I would have liked due to the silver ribbed band on the head and the quilt effect grooves on the handle. The brush did make this easier but in my opinion, the wand would have been just as effective without these finishing touches.

Overall I loved the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator. The quiet rumbling vibrations certainly did the trick on the orgasm front. The satin pouch meant that all of the pieces and charging cable can be stored together but the fiddly clean up and flat operating button did let it down a little.

I would recommend this wand to anyone looking for quiet rumbling vibrations, having tried a Doxy I can confirm that the PowerBullet Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand Vibrator is not quite as powerful but as a rechargeable, wire free wand it certainly exceeded my expectations on the power and noise front. Its just a shame the faff of finding the button when in use and the clean up afterwards took longer than the time taken for orgasm to be reached. Its an 8 out of 10 from me.
